I played the hell out of Harvestella and loved every minute of it. I tried RF5 and got an hour in and shut it off but I do want to restart it. To be honest Harvestella has amazing combat and skill trees, the hidden jobs are excellent. The story is incredible. You get a bunch of different biomes for planting, the animals, crafting, cooking and synthesizing products are super easy. And I prefer the more combat centric aspect of it. I liked that I felt like I was farming and cooking only for sustenance to be able to go out and explore more and get more done. I’m not here for the plain life/farm sims. I hope Harvestella gets a series.
Same, i always seemed to enjoy Farm sims like Stardew Valley, but i got bored fast of not having a specific goal to reach, and i love RPG´s so when i saw this game combined both aspects i had great expectations and honestly i loved it, of course there´s room for improvement but i enjoyed both of the major aspects and i´d love if we got a "Harvestella 2" in the future
I do wish it too, will Square Enix make another one like this again? or a 2nd Harvestella? I feel like playing Harvest Moon and Final Fantasy in Harvestella at the same time.
Rune Factory 5's strong points: characters and socializing (romance aspect is done really nice) Harvestella's strong points: better graphics, top tier story (one of the best ones ever), amazing side quests I enjoyed Harvestella more than RF5 personally.
You can’t compare the two games. I have played both and prefer Harvestella. Combats are harder and better and the story is great. It really depends on what you prefer, farming or combats. The story is also great. 😊
not really.. got hell mode in RF if ur looking for extreme challenge.. your character are not locked and ur also able to truly marry the guy/girl u fancy from the provided one.. not just merely inviting it to your place like harvestella.. in terms of feature both have tons to do but i prefer RF with the monster riding/collecting more.. and if i may add i don't see what's good about harvestella story.. RF5 aside which is probably argueable.. 3/4 are way better in term of story if i can say.. not to mention the bachelor/bachelorettes + able to have ur own child.. the only thing i'd admit harvestella is good is mainly the graphic and the stability.. 5 tbh is bad.. but 3-4 is good.. but seeing this is the first farm game from enix and if they do plan to continue it on the long run.. i expect significant improvement.. especially in characters overall andfamily theme.. i mean this is all what RF/SOS mainly about 50% of the time the npc char uniqueness+waifu/husband bonding having a child.. the very fun festival.. quirky characters.. etc etc and it is what many ppl seek.. might be even better if they go like sos wonderful live where you can go until old age (demerit of repetitive)
I tried liking RF5. Never played it before, town music never changed in the 10 hours I played and it just felt extremely clunky. I sold it 3 weeks later lol
I’m a long-time RF fan but definitely preferred Harvestella over Rune Factory 5. RF5, especially the Switch version, just had too many issues out of the box and for a game we essentially waited a decade for, it was a let down, even after some issues got addressed. Series-wide, I do prefer RF, but 5 was a disappointment. Harvestella was a great game and I would be interested in seeing them expand on it (but based on reviews and sales, that sadly won’t happen).
*DS graphics. For the few I played RF3S that just came out, the art style is pretty much the same in 3 and 4. And the original RF3 is a DS game. Which is why I always thought RF4 looked a bit dated for a 3DS game.
@@tennec27RF4S is a port that's why. They didn't have the budget to redo anything. RF3S on the otherhand already had some kind of budget from RF5 sales success that's why they could redo the graphics.
Harvestella characters are too innocent & too stiff comparing to Rune Factory 5 that look more expression & lively. And remember they already have so many experience developed the past Rune Factory & Harvest Moon series. While Harvestella is still new from indie developer (Square Enix is just a publisher in here) But we need to appreciate the new indie game that take inspiration from Rune Factory, a farmer dating sim with jrpg mechanic
Harvestella sucks ass. Rune Factory 5 is like 10000 times better, to be honest. The economy, for example, is greatly designed in RF5 while it's absolutely appalling in Harvestella. I played that horrible game for like 15 hours, and never learned how to make money in a semi-consistent way. Plus, the plot in Harvestella is annoying as hell, and all male characters are extremely stupid while all female characters are very smart. It feels super childish. Yeah, I'd play RF5 from beginning to end 100 times in a row before I'd even consider going back to Harvestella.
Harvestella wins in everything ... Rune Factory is boring. I even could'nt remember what happend in the last 15 min after I was in the game. Ufff so boring...
Well I prefer rune factory series because at least you can CHOOSE to play as either a male or a female. Harvestlellas protagonist model for the “male” is not so male looking and as much as we can admit the female they got right. But the male I was like “ why so not male”?

I started playing harvestella today and its like 3pixels. Everything is just blury and really bad graphics. Is dat normal or will it get better?
@@yazinmannheim3555 it does play in a lower resolution, doesn’t get better :((
Why would anyone care that they have to wait 10 seconds longer to play one game as opposed to another?
I do.
He should compare it with the Steam version however, which isn't trash.

There’s probably not two better games that are more comparable than these lmfao
I prefer rf5 because I'm already satisfied playing combat open world with genshin.

If we’re basing it on rf5 I’d probably agree most of the older ones I don’t agree
Thank you for making this!

Bummer. I've been playing Rune Factory 4 Special and the game is genuinely great save for the literal 3DS graphics

Rf5 IS worth it, despite its rushed downsides
Given how much potential Rune Factory Frontier had back on the Wii.. it's disappointing to see RF5 not be a lot better.
