My dad met Paul Anderson at one point. They were at a fundraising event for a disaster relief effort (I think a hurricane) that had occurred in Georgia. My dad had nothing but good things to say about him. Anderson was a true man of class and was involved in many things to help his community and people of Georgia who were in need.
I work there at the Paul Anderson Youth Home. I'm the dude in the background with the gray shirt, black sleeves, green hat, and mutton chops. Not that anyone cares. Lol

Great to see Strongman get some publicity. Paul Anderson was my dad’s hero & one of my childhood inspirations that got me into strength training, so I’m again grateful for the History Channel to have put together this series & this episode.

Eddie has short legs and long arms and torso so he can deadlift an unreal amount. He is mechanically made better for that lift and it is why he has the WR. I do not think itll transfer over to this lift since it's more like a sumo squat.

Amazing attempts and successes! Huge kudos to Nick for making the lift. That being said most of Paul’s exhibition lifts we’re not maxes, and the relative ease seen in the video of this hip lift is apparent in not only making the lift but how he then swung it back and forth (a bit) to show all the legs were off the ground. His structure was perfect for these type of things. Can’t wait for the next episodes... Nick, Robert, Eddie and Brian are so natural together!
What I enjoy most about watching these guys is the extreme sportsmanship and respect that these guys have for each other. Sure, it’s competitive but they show how to have fun and be safe while competing

I think this lift is just stupid for the lower back. The angle they lift from put forward down force on the lumbar from the pelvic as they have the weight strapped to it. Everyone's back got popped so that have to prove something. Stupid dangerous lift. Big respect tho, but stupid lift.

The first guy admitted on Rogan's podcast that he has had back issues before. He never went to the doctor and had it checked out... He may have re-injured himself. 😥
All this was recorded before worlds strongest man and Robert Oberst competed there and tore his bicep but his back seemed fine or he wouldn't have gone at all.
He said it improved by core exercising and going down from being 400+ lbs. As well as smoking weed, but lets keep our attention on the first two. Before anyone says anything, I'm a huge advocate for weed; being a regular user. I only mentioned the weed because he said it has helped him with dealing with pain, but I believe the reduction of weight and exercising his core is what probably helped in the long run.
Paul Anderson was the strongest man, ever. Did these feats without ANY supplements, (scientific based/backed) knowledge, assistance, endorsements, or supports. Truly Strength is in the ❤️ Nick Best earned this respect. Paul Anderson versus Louis Cyr is what we need in the future.
