Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Hey great video! Im watching this the night before the annual Wawa fishing derby! Was real proud when i heard sault ste marie and wawa! I have all these baits in my box except the crankbait! Heading out tommorow at 6:00 in wawa. Thanks for the tips :)
I like doing the crocodile rock when the laker bite is on . Tubes work well but my go to lure is a silver croc. The silver crocodile imitates the shiners and Lakers can't resist it .
Gord, FYI Rapala designed the "Snap Rap" for perch in Europe - not their Walleye/Zander. One thing - cut off that from hook and you have an open water fishing machine that is relatively snag resistant. I'm on my 3rd year fishing them, and catch ratios are nicely improved. Good Video~ Love those Lakers~
Great video! How do you work the jig on both polls? I had planned to jig with one, probably a tube, and have one that could be more stationary. Could you make a recommendation?
Important to note: some lakes in Ontario only allow one rod when angling through the ice. It's necessary to check regulations before fishing any water-body.
Thanks for this video. Question . How do you connect these baits to your monofiliment tippit? Do you prefer to tie directly to the bait or use a snap clip swivel type connection. Thanks again.
I like to tie my tubes direct via a Palomar knot. I am a little less particular when I am using action type baits - then I might also use a snap. Most of the tie, though, I tie direct.
what pound test do you typically use when fishing for lake trout. I have only ice fished twice and we just went for Perch. I will be fishing on lake Simcoe, if that helps for the size of the fish available
How about Alaska lakers? It seems that most guys are using tube jigs, white, white with red head, sparkly greenish gold color. I feel like I have a good idea what jigs to use, but lack experience of how to jig them. Also they use whitefish as bait
A lot depends on the size of the trout re: spoons - bigger when the trout are bigger, smaller when they're more moderate in size. Lighter jig heads (1/4 - 1/2 ounce) usually give tubes the best fall / movement.

Great and very informative video, thanks for sharing.

Just subscribed. Great videos. Would love to do a northern Ontario ice fish trip one day.
Your Dad come on up to Sault Ste. Marie we have lots of nice Trout lakes around here!
I never tip my tubes, Kyle!
thank u i caught a monster 7.8 pound rainbow on the lip less crank bait
What depth do you fish?

Also important to note: some lakes in Ontario allow two rods, so your original comment was unnecessary.
What is that little attachment you are using to remove and re-attach the treble hooks/ thx
good tips thanks
Wow, nice👍👍👍👍👍
Have a good day!
Hey Gord nice informative video, I know you said you tip that spoon with a cisco, do you tip your white tube jig with any bait? Thanks
Stringease Fastach clip.
Hi. Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. Do these tips also work for not-frozen lake water in the winter? Around 6 degrees celcius weather?
Yes! 😄

I use 10lb braid for lakers
Deadly video ;)
I have that same sled!!
Good for you, Xbox - congrats!

What I would assume with the last fish lure is that it may have a tendency to hook the edge of ice while landing a fish , but good video all the same.
Couldn't tell you the last time I ever snagged the ice, Steve. remember there's a lot of weight of the fish hanging it down. 😀
Hey Gord, Do you have links to some of these? I'm having a hard time finding a few of them. Thanks.
Which one(s) are you having trouble finding, Murphy?
@@CanadianAnglingAdventures mostly the live target yearling crank bait, but it looks like they don't make them any more. Thanks for the response.
Cotton Cordell’s Super Spot!!
Deadly video
Gord, could you touch a little on weights..1/4,3/8,1/2,3/4,1oz, for the tube jigs and for the Williams spoons, please.

You have to try kastmasters in 3/4 to 1oz blue/silver or chartreuse/silver . Like you said tease the fish up off the bottom and pow!
I love the Kastmaster for ice fishing walleye in the winter!
how deep in water do u fish
However deep the fish are
Is it just me or is this kinda like being given an Ice Fishin Tutorial by George w Bush 😜
If GWB was SUPER Canadian. But yep I see it.
To bad Rapala doesn't make the Clackin Rap
I swear....for some reason, ice fishermen always look like herein addicts lmfao.
Maybe learn to spell before you go making digs at people....retard
