Chapter 3 of TTYD is peak gameplay. And the remake somehow managed to improve on perfection. Now it's peak existing.
Intrigue, challenging twists on fights, a wide variety of enemies, cool plot twists, what's not to like.
@@syndere6755 All the major characters in this chapter were super memorable as well. Also hearing the GBA startup sound when you sign up for a match is just MMMMMMMMMM "chefs kiss".
That and twilight town were my favorite chapters. I like spooky stuff
I love this game so much man. I'm already on my 3rd to 4th playthrough of this, I can't stop playing it.🙂

It's actually my favorite way to play, especially when it comes to routing HP & FP to get to Danger/Peril in cool ways LOL

I think the thing about damage stacking for me in TTYD specifically is just the fact that Peril is so much more rewarding in TTYD than in 64. I like 64’s +4 Atk, non-stacking iteration of Mega Rush better, cause it’s still very powerful while not just letting you immediately shred everything.
Also, thanks to 64 HP Drain and Last Stand, you can make some wild builds about looping from 5 HP to 1 and back over and over, which is a ton of fun

I totally agree with the point about Grubba’s boss loop. Its really weird that he needs to reapply Fast when bosses like Huff N Puff have been allowed free second actions before, not to mention just how much you can do with a free turn (especially when you know exactly when that free turn is.) Maybe he could’ve given himself an infinite duration Fast? Dunno
This kind of thing is why I really hope IntSys considerstrying their own sort of “second quest” type thing for this remake in the future. They’re pretty historically okay with putting things in their games for experienced players (see: fire emblem: conquest, a game made for veteran fire emblem players, or the new content in this very game)
Dark boos can literally waste a turn moving up or down on the screen....yeah we need a hard mode lol
