For those of you who believe you can lose your salvation: you have to understand what the implication is; salvation is by faith alone and grace alone and is a FREE gift from God, to say that one can lose it is to say that salvation is dependent on our working and this voids what salvation is in the first place. If you can lose your salvation then salvation is no longer a free gift from God and he is no longer the finisher of our faith, we are. Very dangerous.
Taking neither side, if as a born again believer I get involved in an adulterous affair with another mans wife in the church and I died in my sin, would I be saved or would I be under 1 Cor 6v9. Serious question and I haven't, just wondering what you think mate.
tommy The real question is: would a born again believer be involved in such a heinous affair, and continuing to live in such sin? Granted as born again believers we sin daily. And as born again believers we try our best not to and repent when we do fall. So we must test ourselves to see if in fact we are born again. A born again believer is filled with the fear of the Lord. Thus our consciences are held accountable and we fear sinning against him. This person you speak of didn't just fall into sin once, repented, and turned away; they are continuing on in their sin and happened to die in it. 1 John 3:6 " No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him." The Lord is their judge. But from scripture I can tell you that there is a high probability that this person may have not been born again. Many people claim to be Christian and that does not make them anymore so than a man claiming to be an airplane. Hope this helps.
Catfish Heaven Faith is required for salvation. Sin is deceptive and can draw you away from believing. Heb 3: 6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. 7 ¶ Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 12 ¶ Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Real warnings for real Christians.
@@CatfishHeaven777 you are delusional if you think every born again Christian doesn't fall when they become born again or just walk in holy land since being born again get real guess you just pop out the womb walking and running huh?
I always believed that the Book of Life was written before we were created. As He already knew who would choose Him and who would reject Him. So if your name is blotted out, it means that you never wanted to accept the Truth and the free gift of Salvation. God Bless!
There are 2 books... first Book has names of everybody who are born and infront of their names is written whatever they did & said as in their sins. Those who accept Jesus as their saviour - God blots out their name from the Book and adds their name in Lambs book of life where all our previous sins are erased. And we are forgiven. God will judge the sinners. Hence why the first Book is where he will judge the sinners from.
Amen! Yes, warnings that keep us sober minded and stir us up to press on at the same time being assured of God's faithfulness to complete the work He began in us!
@@thehardertheyfall2702 because you're not responsible for preserving your salvation. It was God's gift. Freely given. Read Psalms 89:27-35. Your salvation is based on God's faithfulness. Which never fails. The problem is we start looking at ourselves and stop looking at Christ. Remember there is nothing you can do to earn God's Grace. It's given freely. You will sin daily but you will hate it if you're born again. And you will grow in repenting of your sin if you really love God. He's a good Father, no good Father abandons their own children, you're not a slave anymore if your His. You're a Son or Daughter. Praise God!

If you don't bear fruits you would be cut off from Christ. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. @@nathanmark8765 So the Bible teaches that God is a trinitarian God. He is made up of three parts: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is fully God and fully man. You can think of God like water. It has three forms: solid, liquid, and gas. All three are separate forms but still are all equally water. They share the same chemical properties and yet are three different forms. The same is with God.
I'm saying our free will is not taken away by God after salvation. I can desert him and have my name blotted. None of the early church fathers believed in OSAS, and the bible talks about apostates. I believe if you want to stay saved, and you're not walking away from God willfully, you are saved. But I could if I really wanted to, and I don't, walk away from God and delve back into sin. 1 John 5:1-21 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Safe but don't be careless is a contradiction. Jesus makes it clear we're being saved and will be saved when Christ returns if we have chosen to persevere. Good says in His Word on several occasions 'if you continue in the faith'. He also makes it clear that we're 'being saved'. So once saved always saved only applies once we're in Heaven.
The "choosing" to persevere doesn't come from our own strength or will or capacity. If God chose you for salvation, He will get you to the end, eternal life. You will persevere because it is Him who makes you persevere. We never choose God, not even one of us, if He doesn't transform us by new birth and by the Spirit with a new heart. How can one be unborn once born again? The faith we have, by which we are saved, comes from God. The will to seek God comes from God. The love for God comes from God. The strength to endure till the end comes from God. Everything we need for holiness comes from God.
GOD the FATHER in Christ Loves you in Christ and no Devil can Separate you From HIS Love in Christ.Just be Prayerful and keep on Loving the Lord God Jesus Christ because It is Eternal.
Amazing. You must live your life in 80% fearing the loss of a salvation you think you can lose, and 20% pretending to preach to others a gospel that is anathema to the true doctrine of salvation. Your appeal to authority in using scripture in a way that makes you enlightened rather than humble, willing to be corrected and learn- might actually show everyone what is mentioned in the video- namely that people who declare you can lose your salvation because of what they do have never fully understood what Christ did on the cross for those the Father gave Him. His sheep hear his voice- and if you can hear Him and not yourself, the evidence would be in your own words and belief in the security of salvation. Remember those who will come before Jesus in the end and say "Lord,Lord...did we not prophesy in your name?"...do you remember his response? I would take great heed in asking yourself what your first response would be in that situation. With what you are saying, would you declare to him everything you've done to keep your salvation or praise for how he has Kept and secured salvation for you? Your response belies your understanding of salvation.
etho98 i trust only in him and his finished work at the Cross, not my works for my salvation. It's the power and grace of the Holy Ghost that enables me to live Holy and one day see the Lord. All glory it's his. God bless you dear if I quote scripture you're just gona miss interpreted for your own deception so what you can do is ask the Lord why is he waking up so many Luke warm Christians in this times taking them in trips to Hell for believing in calvinism. I had my own terrifying experience after being saved. Don't risk your soul believing that you can live like the world and go to Heaven, God is love but he's also a consuming fire 🔥 and that means if you are ungrateful you will burn in Hell.
etho98 what is the fear of God?! I guarantee you the answer involves judgment. Jesus made the promise of total security to his diciples, the ones who love him following him, hearing his voice. If anyone claims to b saved and is not following Jesus denying himself taking up his cross daily his not worthy of Jesus and his Heaven.
“but my righteous one will live by faith. My soul takes no pleasure in anyone who shrinks back.” But we are not among those who shrink back and so are lost, but among those who have faith and so are saved.” Hebrews 10:38-39 This is like your dad telling you “You’re not a quitter, I didn’t raise a quitter!” It doesn’t mean that you physically cannot quit. It’s just a pep talk to urge you on.
Jonathan Edwards once wrote: 'one of the means God uses to keep His saints in the book of life (meaning preseverance of the saints) is their own responsibility to strive with all their might to stay in it, hence the Scripture warning to stay n the love of Christ and avoid being removed from the book of life.
But Jonathan Edward's words are not Christ's words. I really appreciate Mr Edward's but that is a works salvation. And I will stick with the bible. Jesus + nothing.
Might I say the Jews were broken off for unbelief that we might be grafted in. I'd say most of them rejected John's revelation and also Jesus. Do not the latter day saints add to by having the book of Mormon. I think God may have had in mind the false religions when he said add to our take away. If Israel was broken off for unbelief rom 11 was thir name removed from the book of life. We were grafted in by faith in Christ and I don't believe those grafted in can be removed. The law cannot dißannul the promise to an hier. Gal 317. If you be Christs you are Abraham's seed and hiers acc to promise. No faith broken off. Faith grafted in. God bless

To even consider the possibility that any Child of God could have his/her name blotted-out from The Book of Life is not only unthinkable, but not Scriptural. How and why would God write a name in His Book of Life, later on deciding that name didn't belong there? A Child of God is one as they have been born-again. So, how can he/she become "unborn"? This question is beyound ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!
I agree brother It is clear indeed He is God and He means EXACTLY what He says. He gives and He takes away. Why expect to be ALLOWED TO REMAIN in His Holy book if you don’t overcome!?! What is it we are supposed to overcome.. that is the REAL thing to know not limiting Yah’s clear right to blot out WJOMEVER HE desires, and you can trust that he won’t blot out anyone just for fun it’s because they don’t deserve to be in his book because they did not overcome the thing we are yet to find out!?!
Gordon Marshall I can’t say I acknowledge those kinds of experiences. They are not biblically endorsed. The Word clearly discourage ‘entertaining’ things of that nature. “The LORD said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.” Exodus 32:33 NASB They were saved because they were in the book, but then they were blotted because they stopped believing, and chose to believe in a false God.
Exodus 32:30-33 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the Lord; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. 31 And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. 32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. 33 And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Moses is a picture or "type" of Christ. The Old Testament is a man's covenant. Man promises to be faithful to God. The New Testament is God's covenant based on God's faithfulness. Old Testament = slaves of the law New Testament = sons of God. Relationship changes, from slave to son. 27. Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. 28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. 29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. 30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments; 31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; 32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. 33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. 34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. 35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. Psalms 89:27-35 Those that believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and are converted by grace through faith. Resulting in a love for God, manifested in obedience to His Word. Will be disciplined for sin as sons. By their loving and faithful Father. Christ took ALL our sin on the cross, those that believe that if you sin you'll lose salvation are terribly dependant on their own works and not resting in Christ's finished work on the cross. Rest you who fear God. Christ is faithful.
God doesn’t make empty promises, Jesus mentions that names will be blotted out of the book of life BECAUSE it will happen. Whats the point of the passage if you ignore what it is clearly saying.
Listen beloveds... HE (sounds like :Yah-Who-AH) Yahuah IS Elohim, owner of us... He IS just..and He can blot out ANYONE who is not up to scratch in this case.. who DID NOT OVERCOME!! Secondly what are we supposed to overcome 😳 so we remain in the book and don’t get blotted out??!! That is the real question. The Bible is clear, individuals can get blotted out... it IS conditional! Like it or not!!! His LOVE is unconditional but if you muck about and take for granted His grace, don’t yield fruit in your life, disobeying Him willfully, lose faith in His kingdom and His Son when persecution gets HOT and TERRIBLE.. then WHY, why would you expect to BE ENTITLED to REMAIN in His Book???! How PRESUMPTUOUS are we humans!!!?? We are sinners by birth and keep sinning on daily basis. How does God expect us to be holy like He is in heaven. How a sinner name be in book of life which means entire world. No person can claim to be like God on earth. It is only by our more good works and less bad works our names are written in book of life. Any suggestions
How about if there are three books of life? One when we are born physically. One when we are born again and since our calling is for the purpose to reign and rule with Christ in the millennium then at the same time our name placed in the book of life for the soul/inheritance/chosen/works/ conditional upon obedience/overcoming/enduring to the end. The promise was if we dont overcome ourselves/satan/world then we would be blotted out of the soul book of life and loose our inheritance/position in the kingdom of God and be placed in outer darkness/2nd death for the 1000 years. This is not loosing our calling but our choosing. Many are called, but few chosen.

I myself listened to this and decided not to read scripture, idiotically, and liked it on UA-cam where others could have seen it. Later found out about revelation 21:18-19 which clearly states that anyone who adds to or takes away from that book would be blotted from the book of life. Now I’m worried I myself was one of them.
@@PM-tk3se how how have you dealt with this? im dealing with the same fear im worried my name has been blotted out im praying The Lord can put it back 💔
Just the fact that you are worried and constantly thinking about it. I am sure you are saved. It is when you don't and think you are all good. Is when you might not be. If that makes sense. lol God Bless!
That's easy. When you truly repent of your sins and you receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior then you will know your name is written in the book of life. Then you will probably ask, "how do I know if I have truly received Jesus as the Lord of my salvation?". That's easy too. If you even have to ask such a question, it probably means you really haven't; therefore, your name is not written in the book of life. Then what you should be asking is, "Have I received the Lord Jesus Christ as the Lord of my salvation?" and if your answer is a resounding yes without a shred of doubt, then yes, you have been saved and your name is written on it.
@@tigerex777 so does that mean the disciples were not saved, as they asked Jesus if they were the one who would betray him. Didn’t sound like they were so sure about their faith. It is God who is faithful, God who will never leave or forsake us.

I love you pastor John but this just sounds like you are trying to make the verse fit your theology I think these verses should be taken at face value, the question is how can we prevent it ? Or what do we do if we feel it has already happened ?
Develop a genuine and personal relationship with God. Ask him to cleanse your heart so you can worship him and try your absolute hardest to give up worldly desires and pleasures. As for your family, the best you can do is pray for them and study the Bible with them, if they’re atheist, teach them about Christianity.
Listen to what Jesus promised; Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life. Listen to what Jesus said here; That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Listen to what the Apostle John said ; These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. If you believe Jesus died for your sin was buried and rose again from the dead then God gives you the free gift of eternal life. Pray for your family God will hear and save them Be blessed
Question, I’m not sure this is what the referred text is teaching, please someone help. It seems in revelation 3 the Lord is writing to a church who is described as having a reputation of being alive but is dead. He is commanding them to wake up and repent and keep their repentance until the end, while a failure to do so would result in them being blotted out. I think it’s worth noting this text is also written to a church who is not in the “end times” or the last 42 months that revelation is describing precedes the second coming of Jesus. The text in revelation 13 seems to be speaking to those who are about to undergo trial, tribulation, and martyrdom for the name of Christ in the last days and exhorting them to have faith and endure which is different from the exhortation in revelation 3 “wake up and strengthen what remains” Then in revelation 17 it seems to read the same way that those who have been written in the book of life were being martyred as “the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints” and is a comfort to those who are or will be martyred for their faith. It doesn’t seem like the uses of the phrase “names written in the book of life” are similar between revelation 3 and 13/17 but I may be wrong. It seems like Jesus is writing to his church who has not made herself ready in revelation 3 and stating that if you will not comply with my warning and keep your repentance to the end you are in danger of having your names blotted out. Does anyone else see this in the text from a plain reading? Hope to hear back #desiringGod
I feel, eveyones names is in the book of life... and ones who repent and put their faith in the work of Christ on the cross remain in the book of Life and the ones who don't are blotted out.
I think the same way. God in his wisdom knows us so well, he knows who will put faith in his son and follow him. Yet all begin written in the book of life, untill we reject God and resist the Holy Spirit. Then we will be blotted out. It is talking to people who aren't saved yet. Simmilar to the justice system "innocent, till proven guilty"
I believe there are exceptions and it depends on what that specific person is going through or has gone through in life. Conquer using Gods rules because if you conquer any other way it's the broad road and it's a dead end.
@AVB2Not true. It's quite the opposite really. A lot of times, a genuinely saved person can and DO have doubts about their salvation. Especially as a new believer. Satan tries to get them to doubt and discourage them. A lot of false converts think they are saved and are not. When you are truly saved, you will know it because you are changed. You are a new creation bearing the fruit of the Spirit.
I think what might be going on...those who are in the Book are safe, because God does know what choice you're going to make in advance, so, if you're in the Book to begin with, it's because God already watched the video of your life and gave it a thumbs up. However, less than 1 percent of people who think they're in that book actually are. Hence, Narrow Road.
The way you described it here at the end is not strictly speaking logical. If we take this out of scripture and look at the language Piper uses on it's face (to paraphrase), "your safe, but be careful" is a direct contradiction. If we are secure by Christ's work, by His strength, then we are secure indeed. If we are secure in our own strength or work, then we are not secure at all, for all men stumble, but only God can keep us from falling.
It's definitely BOOK and not TREE in Rev 22, the word that is used is βίβλου biblos which means book, the Roman Catholic priests changed the text those that agree with TREE agree with the Vatican.
This shows me that every name is written in the book of Life from the foundation of the world. Where it is the rejection of Christ that blots our names out. If we look at Romans where Paul speaks of grafting, he states that the Jews can be grafted in through faith in Jesus even after they were removed.
Well said, everyones name was written down, correct, these people above believe in their works and don't understand what Christ did on the Cross. They are crossing all the t and dotting all the i, trying their best to be righteous, and don't realize Christ allowed you to have His righteousness when you were chosen.
Why is this always so controversial? If saved people's names can actually be blotted out then who then can be saved? We deffenetly don't go from lost to saved then lost to saved. I was raised in the loosing Salvation doctrine boy was I ever tormented with fears till FINALLY God revealed what true Salvation was to me. I understood security and true saving Grace. There's plenty of scriptures on true assurance of Salvation.
So are you saying even the ones who haven't been saved meaning repented of their sins and gave their lives to the Lord are in the Book of Life? If so, how do you explain Revelation 20:15? And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
The conquering is God's. That's why we (the born-again believer) being conquerors is guaranteed. 👇 Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
No you cannot because God knows our life from the beginning to the end so the only thing that we don't know is if we're in the book of life to begin with. As we go through life at our circumstances disappoint us and we find ourselves falling short of the mark we may feel like God will take our salvation from us but he knows our end result he sees us As who we are in the end he knows our days from beginning to end so this thing that you can lose your salvation is false it is a manipulative method to make people feel insecure about the relationship with God. Can not be saved by works you are saved on the works of Christ so therefore you cannot lose your salvation.
This is a circular argument and it ignores the other scriptures discussing this issue. You cannot be blotted out by accident... But the very definition of free will is the ability to choose. We can choose to reject the free gift of salvation. In fact Jesus says the days must be cut short or NO ONE would be left who would believe. Salvation can not be lost by accident or human struggle, but it can be rejected.
hi Isaiah, I'm glad you've asked that question, because I wrestled with that too. As we read and understand more of the Bible we will come to understand that the Spirit's work in men brings forth true and continuous repentance, and true and continuous repentance will result in the perseverance occuring. It's like a bundle package, you cannot have one without the other. If there is no perseverance, perhaps there was no true repentance. That's what it looks like top-down, but at the end of the day, we are human beings, not God, so we cannot point out definitely at someone and say that they are not of God's elect by what we see, because who knows there might come a time in the future where they will. Our duty is to have concern for people(and ourselves) whom we on the basis of Scripture can see that they are not bearing the signs of a true Christian, talk to them and help them lovingly. Whether or not they repent, remember that salvation is a work of God, not something we trigger, but rather the Spirit working through us human vessels to accomplish His purpose. I hope that helped brother! :)
Isaiah Palone one of the best statements I think is by JD Greer “The faith that fails was flawed from the first.” If you have it, He will ensure you keep it.
The Lord Jesus is always faithful and all of his promises stand forever. We cannot lose our salvation through sin because we are saved by grace not a lack of sin. However if we believe not and deny him, he remains faithful, he cannot deny himself. We are sealed by God through faith. He will deny those who deny him. That word implies a renouncement. This I believe is the sin unto death. Paul admitted he caused Christians to blaspheme while coercing them to renounce their faith. While reading all of God's promises, read also all of the "if" verses, Hebrews 3, 6, & 10, then read Foxe's book of Martyrs and see what the early church believed happened when a Christian renounced Christ. I believe as John Bunyan did, that one can make many mistakes along the way to the celestial city, but one must never turn back.
Because we are new creatures in the world not of the world. If we do not repent (change our ways) and we continue to live in sin willfully, we need to adk ourselves are we TRULY saved. To truly be saved we will not be perfect but we should also not willfully live in sin. We should want to serve God and be more Christ like.
I'd like a dollar for every Christian who has told me they think they aren't good enough to go in the rapture....of course we're not, we are relying on big bro to bring us through. Would you bring your brother through, knowing he'll be healed on the other side and free from this planet and the beasts corruption?
I can't help but imagine having never heard of God, the Bible, or anything, being stranded on a deserted Island and only finding a Bible in my language and reading it. I wonder what kinds of conclusions I would come to, being very literate and good reading comprehension. What kinds of conclusions would I have if I didn't have all of these people with their creeds, doctrines, statements of faith, etc.? Do you think that maybe we can walk away from the gift? Do you think that maybe we don't earn our salvation, but we can just be like, "No I don't want this free gift." Also, do you think anyone who has done this cares at all about not being saved? I think that maybe everyone's wrong. I think the free gift of salvation can never be lost by those who want it because they never earned it in the first place. However, I think also that people can reject it and they will never care that they did. If you're here and you're scared that you lost it or could lose it, you have nothing to worry about. Those who have something to worry about would never be here.
I would go listen to Rodney Beaulieu"s youtube from Grace Bible Community Church on who is in the Lamb's Book of Life. It is key to realize that we share this Book called the Bible with the Hebrew people, God's ELECT. And the Lamb's Book of Life is part of their program; not ours in this dispensation of grace, given to Paul. Those who do not accept Christ as Savior in our disp are judged by the books of Paul's gospel,( those given to us are in Romans-Philemon). Read Romans 2:16
This passage is for the tribulation saints not the church. The tribulation period is a faith and works set up that's why you have to endure until the end.. the work is not take the mark of the beast If one misses the raprure
The Book of LIFE could be thought of {In Context} as Recorded throughout HIStory; Where, YHWH'S Sovereign Decree Is Outside or Time and Space, which are Created By That Very Decree. YHWH Not Only Decrees the Ends, but also, the Means, and everything throughout.
It means that you’re blotted out of the book of life and that you do not hear my voice, and that you do not hear and you are not worthy to hear and your feet are not set to hear and you will not hear until your feet are set and who’s going to set your feet
It's true that a person can't lose their salvation but you can leave it you can backslide from it if not then every scripture written to warn us or correct us would be absolutely unnecessary
Where is the Book of Life kept? If jealous people intentionally keeps you from life they will be held accountable for keeping Gods Saints, Angels and people from growing and prospering. Blessed are you when people revile you and do all kinds of evil things for my name sake. Great is your reward in heaven.
You are incorrect. The verses you cited in Revelation were not written to the church the body of Christ, and Philippians 4:3 is the very verse I exegete in my video. You should watch first before passing judgment.
@AVB2 "not meant to be read" "Book of life is not to be found in scriptures." Where do you get such nonesense? Oh I see, you must first build a strawman so you can argue against it. Classic duck, dodge, deny, and deflect. If you really wanted to have an intelligent conversation you would have listened first. But you didn't, therefore you're not worthy of dialoge. 👋
The people that are blotted out are the unbelievers, every person born into the world are in the book until they reach accountability,if they do not receive Christ in their lifetime then they will be blotted out, that's why all infants go to heaven.

Serious question and I haven't, just wondering what you think mate.
tommy
The real question is: would a born again believer be involved in such a heinous affair, and continuing to live in such sin? Granted as born again believers we sin daily. And as born again believers we try our best not to and repent when we do fall. So we must test ourselves to see if in fact we are born again. A born again believer is filled with the fear of the Lord. Thus our consciences are held accountable and we fear sinning against him. This person you speak of didn't just fall into sin once, repented, and turned away; they are continuing on in their sin and happened to die in it. 1 John 3:6 "
No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him."
The Lord is their judge. But from scripture I can tell you that there is a high probability that this person may have not been born again. Many people claim to be Christian and that does not make them anymore so than a man claiming to be an airplane. Hope this helps.

You can’t be erased from the book of life. However, your name could have never been in it tho …

1 John 5:1-21
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.
Taser me Plz Also the people who believe in God almighty. Cheers
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.Hebrews 10:39 KJV
Cherry pick.
God doesn’t make empty promises, Jesus mentions that names will be blotted out of the book of life BECAUSE it will happen. Whats the point of the passage if you ignore what it is clearly saying.
I respect pastor John very much but some key words he keeps using is "I don't think so" or "I think"
Isaiah Palone would it be better if he said "I know"? You should quite often be humble and admit when you don't know for certain
He is a humble servant of God so therefore Pastor John is answering the question without being and sounding like he has all the answers. 🙏🏼
Yes pastor tickle my ears with those things that make me remain at peace in ‘allowances’ of disobedience...aaahhh sound so good🤮
I like some of Mr. Pipers stuff but this one negates what the Bible indicates!!!

Read Romans 8:37-39 and John 10:25-30...
@@marcelniles342 Romans 8:37-39 says nothing can separate from His love. Well, all of God's promises are to the faithful and obedient (hence it says those who are conquerors), but God doesn't stop loving those who end up going to hell. Which is why scriptures say that He is not willing that any should perish. As for John 10:25-30, those believing false doctrines such as OSAS are not hearing His voice. Nobody will pluck a faithful believer out of His hand but a believer that refuses to repent and obey, is the one walking away.
What? With all due respect Pastor John, that was about as clear as mud! ~Sidney
Because he is using circular reasoning. Its not accurate.
He simply uses scripture to fit the doctrine of the Calvinist church which doesn’t preach the true Gospel of Christ

I myself listened to this and decided not to read scripture, idiotically, and liked it on UA-cam where others could have seen it. @@native00 Just with your comment alone. I can say you are more than likely saved. God Bless!
How do we know or not if our names are in the book of life?

We know if we are in the book of life(salvation) by our fruits. The gift of eternal life is free, but it does produce fruit in our lives. Examine yourself, and see if there are any fruits, even if it's few small grapes :)
Love for God: Luke 10:27, Rom 8:7
Repentance from Sin: Prov 28:13, 1 John 1:8-10.
Genuine Humility: Matt 5:1-12, James 4:6.
Devotion to God's glory: Jer. 9:23-24, 1 Cor. 10:31.
Continual Prayer: Luke 18:1, Eph. 6:18.
Selfless love: 1 John 2:9, 3:14, 4:7.
Separation from the world: 1 Cor. 2:12, James 4:4, 1 John 2:15-17.
Spiritual growth: Luke 8:15, John 15:1-6.
Obedient living: Matt. 7:21, John 15:14, Rom. 16:26.
Hunger for God's Word: 1 Peter 2:1-3.
Transformation of Life: 2 Cor. 5:17.
Hope this helps with your question. There is more verses all over the Bible to support these claims. I encourage you to search the scriptures and be comforted by the assurance we have in Christ of our salvation.

I love you pastor John but this just sounds like you are trying to make the verse fit your theology I think these verses should be taken at face value, the question is how can we prevent it ? Or what do we do if we feel it has already happened ?
No. I don’t so. God would always bring you back to Him.
I am terrified that me and my family are not in the book of life and could go to hell. 😰 What can I do??
Pray for your family God will hear and save them

Repent and BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST! :) Trust in the finish work of Christ.
Yes by not walking in the Way in/of Jesus that fills our faith and have our faith taken away.
The text in revelation 13 seems to be speaking to those who are about to undergo trial, tribulation, and martyrdom for the name of Christ in the last days and exhorting them to have faith and endure which is different from the exhortation in revelation 3 “wake up and strengthen what remains”
Then in revelation 17 it seems to read the same way that those who have been written in the book of life were being martyred as “the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints” and is a comfort to those who are or will be martyred for their faith.
So obvious!
And how do we know our name is in the book?????
Can't fall from grace if you never were in a state of grace (saved) you are confused.
💚✞
The way you described it here at the end is not strictly speaking logical. If we take this out of scripture and look at the language Piper uses on it's face (to paraphrase), "your safe, but be careful" is a direct contradiction. If we are secure by Christ's work, by His strength, then we are secure indeed. If we are secure in our own strength or work, then we are not secure at all, for all men stumble, but only God can keep us from falling.
My question is this: do born-again believers not need to fear God anymore? If God can't throw us to hell anymore, what is there to fear?
Basically what it means to fear God is to uphold his commandments and follow his law.
What about revelation 22:18-19?
The correct translation there is tree of life not book of life that's quoted in the textus receptous the TR text.
It's definitely BOOK and not TREE in Rev 22, the word that is used is
βίβλου biblos which means book, the Roman Catholic priests changed the text those that agree with TREE agree with the Vatican.
What scripture says everyone's name was written down?
👇
Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Judas was saved he even had his name written in heaven but his name was blotted out
What about exidus 32 33?
This is a circular argument and it ignores the other scriptures discussing this issue. You cannot be blotted out by accident... But the very definition of free will is the ability to choose. We can choose to reject the free gift of salvation. In fact Jesus says the days must be cut short or NO ONE would be left who would believe. Salvation can not be lost by accident or human struggle, but it can be rejected.
God won't force us to go to heaven
It means there is the possibility of having it blotted out. Whether or not God has ever blotted someone's name out is not told that i know of.
And what if we don't persevere then is the Salvation lost and are you then blotted out????
hi Isaiah, I'm glad you've asked that question, because I wrestled with that too.
From south africa
Um, then what is the point of repenting??? Jesus says REPENT
Exodus 32:30-33 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the Lord; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
33 And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Those who do not accept Christ as Savior in our disp are judged by the books of Paul's gospel,( those given to us are in Romans-Philemon). Read Romans 2:16
