    Thank you but as of October 2023, the Power App in Power BI, demonstrated in the video, will be non-functional due to a data refresh issue. (stuck on "Getting your data..." error )
    I believe it would be incredibly helpful if the video could address and resolve these issues in real-time. This approach, as opposed to showcasing a pre-prepared version that operates seamlessly, would provide a more realistic and practical learning experience for viewers.
    After all, encountering and overcoming challenges is part of the learning process. It’s through these experiences that we can truly grow and develop our skills. ;)

    As of May 2024, when I click 'Skip' like you did in the pop-up window that appears at 19:42 in the video, the canvas appears blank with a message that says 'Add an item from the Insert pane or connect to data' - how is your canvas already showing the comment data from your Excel sheet without having to manually connect to it? I have none of the items showing under 'Screen1' that you have - no Gallery1, no Separator1, no NextArrow1, no Title1; nothing! Please help me understand what I've missed in order to connect to the Excel sheet. Thanks

      Hi, Thank you for looking at Zebra BI. You can contact support for the problem you are describing but in two years a lot has changed and there is an easier way to add comments to your Power BI reports. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/GA3Bp4VHmXI/v-deo.html

      You have to do the same procedure but in Power BI web, once your Power BI Desktop report is already published on web.

    Hi Andrej & Tine,
    Thanks for sharing other very interesting knowledge...
    But, on this particular occasion, if I did understand well, I will not able to use these tips 'cause I haven't license of PowerApps.
    Thanks again,

      Hi Gabriel,
      Yes, unfortunately, the only certified way of doing write-back is with PowerApps, so without the license for them, this approach does not work.

      @@ZebraBI Yes, but... somebody is trying other approach, do you know the Gopal Khrinamurti technique? (from Inforiver)
      This (editing) is one of things that you (ZebraBi) could make possible, I think.
      Ref: ua-cam.com/video/ns0B65JoTeM/v-deo.html (Advanced cell editing with Inforiver on Power BI)
      When I read the title of your video I think about Editing capabilities of InfoRiver tools..
      Anyway, I continue choosing your visual over any other visual

    How to add the user name and email to the data source?

    • @ZebraBI
      @ZebraBI  Рік тому

      Hi! You have to have those 2 columns ('User name' and 'email') in the data source and then you simply select those as "targets" for the writeback from the source instead of the comments - as Andrej explains from 32:25-33:20.
      Hope this helps :)

    Can the comments just be another column in the Excel file you're importing the rest of your data into Power BI with? Like do you really need to upload a whole new document to contain the comments?

    • @ZebraBI
      @ZebraBI  Рік тому +1

      No, this is not necessary. The 'Comments' table can just be another fact table on a separate Excel worksheet. Then the only necessary fields of the 'Comments' table are just the Comment column and dimension (foreign) ID columns, by which dimensions you wish to filter the comments and that's it.

      Hi Roger, you need the license for PowerApps, yes.
