Are reviews/unboxings for newly released board game miniatures something that interests you, or should I just stick to painting the miniatures? I thought that Cthulhu: Fear of the Unknown would be my first video of this type, but then these came along.
@@ThrehaneMiniatures unboxing content and mini reviews are really solid. You'll also catch a lot of folks who didn't pledge and are curious about whether they should pick it up from Game Steward or retail.

No other info about how the individual characters play. I wish I could provide more detailed information for you!

@ThrehaneMiniatures If it were an established game world, I'd feel differently. But it's a completely new game so I kinda feel like everything is available to us. Who's to say Elkhorn isn't a species and the one in the picture would be a different color than the one in your collection, if that makes sense
@@Cut2theKwik It's a good point. The 3 different pieces of art that I found for Golomo may even support this idea. I really like the pic of him holding the two different colored flame effects.
Good talking point for a video. Ultimately I decided not to back Dragon Eclipse because I just did not care for the gameplay. Grimcoven is another I’m on the fence(late pledge arrives in September) because it looked like a b^tch to paint and the design seems to be all over the place.
@@ramonosuke Thanks. I appreciate that feedback! I'd like to start doing reviews of newly released boardgame miniatures, but I'm not sure how that will be received on a painting channel. I agree, those Grimcoven miniatures look quite intimidating (I'm not saying that I also have a few prototypes of those....but...). I did back Grimcoven because I'm looking for an alternative to CDMD, that is also different enough to warrant owning both. It's a gamble, but I also know that I'll enjoy painting those ridiculous minis. I'm definitely breaking out the airbrush for those!

I think Grimcoven gameplay wise looks right up my alley, but knowing me I'd love to paint it up first, but that "overly textured" look of the prototype minis, makes me want to grab speedpaint over traditional paint for them. My issue is I've never been able to make 'slapchop' look as good as videos make it out to look, and as a still a beginner painter, Grimcoven looks to be a beast to paint up. I did back Blood from Ludus Magnus, cause loved the art style and gameplay which is quite similar to GC ala Boss battler adjacent so depending on updates for GC, I may back it too
@@ramonosuke Blood looks so good also! I was tempted to back it just for that scarecrow. So cool. I ultimately choose GC just because I'm more familiar with the company behind it. I've never played a Ludas Magnus game, but I've heard good things about Black Rose Wars.
