This is the race I wanted to see because of the price difference. Seems to me that if you like straight line speed then the s650 is trash in comparison to the 550. You get a dual intake that your tuner will remove anyways. All they did was bump up the tune a bit using the dual intakes for emissions traps power wise. The rest is geared at turning steering and stoping with amenities which is why it’s heavier. Breaks and suspension of that s650 are great the rest of is pointless. S550 for the win price per hp based on weight to power plus it’s not locked. And man I really hate the tail lights of the s650 am I the only one who feels this way. No fanboy crap honest opinions.
You can literally buy brand new 2024 base GT auto for well under msrp at around $42K with the 301A pkg and it looks to be a little faster than the S550 stock vs stock. How is that trash?? The main downside is the ECU is locked. The looks and interior aren't for everybody, I get that. If you already own a S550 GT prob not worth trading, but if you're looking for a brand new gt, it's not the worst option imo.

Almost everything you said is false. My stock 301a 21 10 speed car ran 12.2@115 in good weather. After long tubes and e85 tune it ran 11.5@119. My stock 24 401a loaded with every option besides active exhaust ran 11.9@118 at the same track… Interior- way better Ride quality- way better Build quality- reason why I sold my 21. 24 is really good. Handling- not even close Once tuning becomes available it’s over.

The difference here is probably the S650 having drag mode. Stock tune no drag mode is soft as hell on S550’s.
