PRIDE FC and K1 had separate owners. Pride died because it became public knowledge they were basically owned by the Yakuza. Fiji tv cancelled their contract and no company was willing to air it in Japan. K1 went downhill due to terrible management. Everyone got themselves rich at the expense of the fighters who.struggled to get paid. Almost like Enron, it looked like a solid company but it was built on a house of cards
I personally don't get why you'd be sad in a loss by decision. I mean yeah it sucks but I would only be devastated if I was knocked down and knocked out. Guy at the start our a good fight

Wayne def won that first fight they showed but because it went to decision the judges were able to rob him and give the fight to the other fighter.Makes me sick their should be no biases in sports. In some countries if the fight goes to decision the hometown guy or girl always is picked as the winner even if they don't deserve to win id rather they just pick the winner fair and square no matter who it is. I personally watch fighting to see whose the best fighter and for great matches is why I watch not because im a fan of just one fighter and want to see that person always win. I wana see the best get crowned even if it isnt who I might be rooting for its biases like that that ruined K-1 and a lot of other promotions.
I liked K-1, the short clinches and lack of elbows allowed sissies like Masato to keep up with Thaiboxers. This kind of format allows Chinese fighters like Yi Long to come into the sport soft. Guys like Parr & Buakaw who lost in K1 would wreck it in full Thai rules. As far as the other discussion, I think big Thai promotions like Max Muay Thai and Yakkao have killed it. While K-1 was/is interesting, it's just neutered SEA boxing. I guess most people would rather see the real thing. Still, it was like the kickboxing Olympics.
6 years later. Masato has knocked out Thai boxers in full Muay Thai rules prior to fighting Buakaw. Also, Masato outboxed Buakaw easily in the rematch.
The good old days. Glory can't match the spectacle that is K1 Max.

Masato is at least 10 times more popular than Parr & Buakaw....I about laughed up my spleen at that...pro wrestlers are popular too....
