Thank you Andy Carvin . I was there at Fairtex, probably soon after you made this film. I am particularly grateful that Abhidej Sithirun appears in this clip. He was my first muaythai mentor, and I was his last male student. My spouse was his last female student.
I'm no psychologist, but that Thai female fighter's story about watching muay thai with her late father, and the age of her husband, it all makes sense
Fast forward years later everyone is training Muay Thai. Even UFC fighters like GSP and Khalil Rountree are traveling to Thailand to train at top places like Tiger Muay Thai.
@@gmeme9252 Very true that but that can also benefit them considering Thai fighters are used to that rhythm. When foreigners fight thai fighters the goal is to always throw of them off their natural rhythm and never fight their fight
@@gmeme9252 does that include you? You're a foreigner too, a Thai doesn't speak like you do. They're actually very humble respectful peoples with pride and a warrior spirit second to none

Heh, that's the very reason why we reached out to Jason in the first place to see if he'd narrate the documentary. It turns out he practiced muay thai and was enthusiastic about doing it for us.
@@AndyCarvin damn, that's funny. Very good choice. I saw this documentary as a kid when it came out, got me into thai boxing. Changed (and probably saved) my life.
@@burnerburner8823 We reached out to his agent early on in the project, thinking that his character in Snatch would inspire a great voiceover. We didn't hear back for a long time then they got back to us and said that Jason was a big fan of muay thai and would love to do it. We reserved some studio time for him in England, connected to the studio remotely while he recorded it, and that was it. He was a pleasure to work with.
You can't be passing judgement on how much they make. You're saying how much they are making in U.S. dollars, yeah with the exchange rate it sounds awful. But if you strictly go by the Thai baht (their money) it's a good way to make quick good money. $2 in the U.S. goes allot longer in Thailand. So save your bleeding heart exploitation for someone else.
Pisses me off when people confuse KB with MT (KB doesnt have elbows nor the Ram Muay some KB orgs allow Knees but that doesnt make it FTR ) some orgs that do allow knees sometimes call it Modified Thai Rules (essientally diff name for K-1 'Oriental' Rules) got no problem with that but if theres no Ram Muay then its not PROPER Muay Thai
I think every woman should take up boxing , MMA. MAU TIA. GOOD exercise plus they learn a self defense and if they.want to fight then that's what matters the woman in red if she works o her hands she could be win
He lost but its ok he is younger bigger wait a year rematch after he gets older stronger more experienced rematch the same guy might have a different out come he has size and watching if he stays with it he can do well.

The fact jason statham is narrating this makes it so good this man been kicking ass before i was born
Our PE teacher made us watch this for school. I think it's a great documentary!

Thailand will always have a special place in my heart ! ❤️🙏🏼
"Muay Thai isn't about beating the other guy. Muay Thai is about applying what you learned to beat the other guy." Favorite quote ever!

So instead of giving them a padded bra to wear underneath, why not a padded vest over the clothes. Makes a lot sense.
