To make a drop top you have to 'kerf' the maple Top where you want it to curve. Kerfing is cutting small cavities into the wood to allow it to bend without snapping. This was first done on electric guitars by Tom Anderson back in 1986. You all should but a Tom Anderson to ask him for drop topped instruments.

This is awesome. I wouldn't associate, a maple fret board with these colors. However, these are amazing guitars!

Harry Neary+1Makes me wish I still had my 1986 RG 560. Man I miss that guitar and kick my arse for trading it in on a Charvel Model 4. I also thought the original Edge and Edge Lo-pro Trems were better than the Floyds and most of their newer trems. Still I love my USA Custom USRG30 in Transparent Emerald Green. Ordered it from the factory in 1996. Waited for 3+ months, longest months ever. Lol. It has been my fav since and still is my main guitar. Want my 560 back though.

These are gorgeous. If they had original Edge trems I'd probably buy all three!

One point also To make is that TItanium is actually naturally flexiblle to a degree ( uniform flex ) Trust me on this one, my femur is titanium, and Ive done some reading waiting for my body to assimilate it. Ti will not make it more ridgid, but it is a quality metal.

C0nnie if you think that neck join is good, check out a Parker Fly. The ibanez one is a chunky lump in comparison

6:00 Sorry Rob but it's because it looks nice. The most rigid configuration would be to make the whole neck out of the most rigid wood. You do get some *stability* though from having different grain orientations. I think the neck looks fantastic but that's no reason to go spreading nonsense. Source: am an engineer.

Rob, you should definitely play more RGs - there is some kind of a special synergy going on when you pick one up.
