I love the CA Electrology Academy ... just about my favorite school. However, this is not a consultation I would recommend. 30-minutes is too long. Too much information is not only impossible to understand/retain for the patient, but also a long consultation raises the patient's anxiety. More information = more misunderstanding = more unanswered questions = greater anxiety. Beginning electrologists always make this mistake.
A consultation should not be a classroom lecture. I have a few funny stories about how I learned to do a successful consultation (with my 40+ years' experience). Remember the ONLY information the patient wants: to make sure that YOU know what you're doing. The more you talk, the LESS knowledgeable you appear. Furthermore, a good consultation should be the electrologist LISTENING ... not lecturing, and not prattling on-and-on with no breaks. Remember, silence is an important part of communication. Finally, the electrologist asked, "Do you have any questions?" ... at the end of the monologue. She gave him no time to think and ask a question ... and then launched right back to her diatribe. This dude was probably sweating by the end of this consultation; I know I was! (I'll do a video on it.)

This video makes me very anxious! I've had a LOT of electrolysis done on me and i've never had more than a 5 min consult. If my Electrolgyst took 30 min to do a consult i'd walk out. I'm there to have my hair cleared, not to become an electrologyst myself. WAY too much info for a client! Clients want to know this: almost zero except that you can clear their skin of hair..I pay, you do your job. My honest opinion from a customer who has been to MANY clinics as I travel with work.

I watched this again ... almost to the end. Clients DO have several questions that were not answered here:
    1) How much MONEY is this going to cost me? The number one question that is absolutely legitimate.
    2) How long is this going to take? Estimate should be in total treatment HOURS for the area .... Not just "it will take about a year."
    3) Does it hurt? Do a sample treatment right away ... not a 30-minute lecture.
Also, if you ask the client "do you have any questions?" WAIT and give them time to formulate a question; don't just immediately start talking after a 3-second pause. This electrology student gave the client no chance to ask a question. A good consultation is mostly LISTENING to the client. Good luck
