I grew up in Sitka, LOTS of sport fishing. Caught a 52lb. 3oz. King when I was 12. It tool 3rd in the Alaska Lumber & Pulp Salmon Derby. Cohoes were fun too. They school and hit all the poles at the same time - they like to jump!

Your not marking the salmon on sonar ? We have hard time marking them in the great lakes. We look for bait and right water temperature

Definitely marking some of the salmon we are catching. We also look for the bait and the salmon are usually nearby. Not really paying a lot of attention to water temperature.

Some are some are not. Hard to tell as not all hatchery kings are clipped
