It's painful when you have one or two tough courses in a racing game blocking you from the big leagues. This is exactly what I want. Thank you Chris Smith and Codemasters. Take your time with this game, don't rush, and make it spotless.
From my point of view, making all features opened from the very beginning doesn't give the player an sense of progression, the thing that single player career needed. It doesn't give the player incentive to give more effort through the campaign. A bad example of this is Forza horizon 4, we can just keep playing without any fear of losing. Getting last or first place have the same rewards, anything you do can make the career progress. It gets boring very quickly because no incentive to make extra effort and no more that satisfying feeling when you completed challenging races and go on to the next big event.

Just promise me that split screen will return. Grid 2 and Autosport were more fun because of it. Sitting next to your mate, with 6 other drivers on track, making mistakes, crashing, having contact races, nothing can beat it.
I hope demolition derby is left out. That's what i'm buying Wreckfest for. I'd rather have more car, track, and class options in this game than them spending resources on a half assed version of demolition derby.
Codemasters has really upped their game in terms of creating a better looking game all in all. I noticed this in DR 2.0. Those rare moments when I had a split second to look across the countryside.....gorgeous! Right before sliding off track and down the hill :D
the rival system kinda remind me with 2008 speedracer game. If you play dirty, other racers will start to beat you up as well and make your day harder, but if you play clean, just some of the antagonist character only try to take you down.
It was nothing like original Grid, legends also wasn't. The original Grid is still the best and has the most unique handling that won't ever be replicated

The insane crash physics. The first game made it big on UA-cam with a ton of original crash compilation videos. Track damage also made the original fun to play. Smash through tyre bundles one lap, they'll still be there on the next lap, strewn across the track. 3. Night touge battles. Two drivers, endless traffic and steep ledges to fly off of. 4. Ravenwest. Nuff said. 5. Demolition Derby. Need I say why. 6. More race types. Perhaps rally and RallyCross to spice things up. And drag racing. And time attack.
Don't think no 6 can be done easily, especially when they're the same studio that makes the Dirt Rally Series. Loved the 1st Grid for 2 things: Drift Battle n Midnight Touge. As long as they're here it's safe to say that they're quite unique.

On the ps2, it was changed to Toca race driver, after they dropped the Toca part (the 3rd one had so many motorsports to choose from, it wasn't really Toca anymore.) the game was called Race Driver Grid, and they dropped the Race Driver part. The same thing happened with the Dirt series, which was called Colin McRae Rally at first.
Really hope Sponsors like in the first game come back, with their challenges to earn money!! Also, kind of a wish, but I'd love for a replay mode so we can take amazing screenshots!

Things are missing from the original game, such : - Garage, money for buying cars - Japanes cars - One vs one challenges, which was really a blueprint of Grid game.
I just hope it's got the drifting of the original Grid and the tense music and increased heart rate of the 24hr of le mans , it created such an incredible atmosphere and the feeling of Edge of your seat Racing. Few games have been able to match that.
Would be cool if they could put this nemesis/rivalry/loyalty system also into multiplayer. Like if you crash into your nemesis or when you drive neck on neck with your rival, you (or both) will get a speed boost. But not for only 1 race but permanent. Like if you meet that player in another match again, this system automatically activates.
i like the rival/nemesis system it feels like a more graceful way to encourage clean racing unlike having overly aggressive AI that handles like tanks whilst you car is light like a feather and the said AI just literally lives to push you off track
I'd guess that's the starting base, We're at a point where visual differences are a lot less noticable between modern games. I'm sure there'll be newer features added but I imagine the first thing they're focusing on is the AI followed by the physics, UI, car models, animations, maps tracks, weathers, textures, depth of field & so on.
I know it would never happen in 2019 but I wish there was only 1 difficulty like in older racing games (Midnight Club etc). The progression is so much better and challenging that way.

Still don't see the point of a reboot. It doesn't look like they're taking it to a different direction, it looks like every other grid game, even the graphics direction is the same, the physics looks like what I expect and the tracks are basically what I expect. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited but I don't think anyone will feel differently if they called this grid 6 or something.
The original is still incredible, drivers spin out and everything just generally feels fun and loose. Love the idea if giving the pack more personality.
It was like that in the original and I loved it personally, made the cockpit view more dynamic and more involved, less swaying happened so racing felt less flowy but a lot quicker
I wonder if it'll have eBay and all the previous game modes from grid 1. The ai count seems a bit low compared to grid 1 as well. But can't wait for this game.

I'm a fan of "clean racing", even in games like Wreckfest (or even Flatout games) where I try to avoid any unnecessary big contacts, so I hope I will not get randomly rammed by the nemesis opponents just because they can…
Need online multiplayer Race selection and Vote update.. and to be able to put the race settings you want to play with in game, for example Terminal Damage on, ghosting off, ect.. Play ...Searching...
I hope they don't make career always online like Dirt 2.0. Don't care about such a deep AI system either but Grid has always been a solid simcade racer, I can't wait for this to come out.
I heard what they said, but the gaming difficulty system typically used in gaming is disingenuous. Most games describe the A.I. is better, but in all actuality our mechanics have been stifled in order to make it appear the A.I. has increased in skill.

They did lol. They bought Evolution studios from Sony who made motorstorm and driveclub. But after Codemasters let them make OnRush and it failed in sales, Codemasters laid them off

More than likely will. They implemented that into Dirt 4 and I think they did the same with Rally 2.0

Just recently bought Dirt Rally 2.0. Really enjoying it. Definitely looking forward to this reboot since i loved the original one on PC back then...

Huge fan of the original grid, the handling, the damage system and the difficulty were all pure perfection. I hope this game feels the same.
The damage system is the best of all time, the only game that had the damage system similar to grid is gta 4 and dirt series

Considering CodeMasters has the Formula 1 license, I don't see why they wouldn't have them in it.

They need to work on the camera for the interior view, it is too fixed, there needs to be some movement.

So nemesis mode means they will weaken your physics and piss you off so the computer gets an edge.
