The castle in the background is where Lord Mountbatten used to stay for his summer holidays (plus kids). And just down the coast in Mullachmore is where he would have moored his boat.
Hay golf mates just looking back over hidden gems as I’m recovering in hospital after brain operation, love all hidden jems especially Ireland 🍀🍀 keep them coming maybe south of Ireland next time, Dublin wicklow, Wexford and Waterford area would be nice to try, and any1 who’s leaving negative feed back nobody’s asking you to watch, scroll on, love the golf mates family🍀⛳⛳😂😂👍
Am I enjoying the Ireland tour with my new golfmates? Hell yes I'm enjoying every single second. Luv Mr. B's purple shorts; does he own another pair, bloody hell dude! I am so very very jelly of the lot of ya!!! GOD Bless!
Don't know how you guys can suffer your way around those fabulous courses. Great viewing with the obvious comradery (love the comments from behind the camera too :)). Keep it coming 👍
Love these hidden gems. You boys always make me laugh. Mr. Barlow is so damn hilarious and I look forward to his play. Keep up the economic work. Kudos to Roy for playing so well and let’s not forget the fabulous camera work. Cheers
The drainage on that hole below the hotel is amazing, we were staying in a room overlooking it and there was torrential rain in the morning, the green was literally under water. Went out to play later in the day and the whole course, including bunkers was perfect.
I love how 17:30 and 17:50 Roy executes a magnificent approach shot that even Tiger Woods would be happy about. Then exactly between 17:38 - 17:42 you can hear the camera man grown out, "Oh No." Soooo feckin funny.
Starting hole (6th) used to be a really tough par 4 from way back in the corner, OOB all the way up the left. 13th (par 3 - 234 yds from back sticks), had a HIO there way back in 1991. Topped a 4 wood ;-)
You guys really make my lunch hour a joy. I get to see all these great courses, listen to the mates have great fun... OFTEN at each other's expense, and not think about the craziness of the day.... Thank you so much. Shot a personal best, 78 on a 72, Saturday at Stonebrooke in MN. There your carts are put on a pontoon to the fairway after your tee shot across a lake. Come visit sometime... there are a lot of summer gems here.
These hidden gems are FANTASTIC. I live in Canada, my wife and I played Cullen (about an hour and a half north of Inverness) a couple weeks ago. What a GREAT quirky course. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you Liam.
Never fail to deliver. Agree with you about the course bearing it's teeth with a wind up, but absolutrly stunning layout. Stu, moving day, played so well. Can't wait for next week. Thank you.
Great video and series so far lads, the main thing is you are all having great craic and enjoying yourselves which is what golf is all about, anything other than that such as playing well or birdies etc is all a bonus, keep up the good work.
Had it all. Stu on fire, dad dancing..and a touch of the old "well I'm with my mates" which is on a par with "well it's a lovely day and I've had a nice walk" Class stuff as usual Liam!
You guys made a difficult course look easy, well Roy did. There is something about the Irish air that lifts your spirits, as does your right hand with a Brandy in it. These hidden gems are important to all golfers, it opens their eyes to what else to choose when on a jolly with their Golf Mates.
Tremendous series!!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip Not sure how far south you are traveling on this trip, but a hidden gem that I can recommend for another series would be Clonakilty Golf Club which is part of the Lisslean estate.
Liam super stuff mate... Rathcore is absolutely unbelievable as is moyvalley 4 miles up the road... Both in meath i believe.... Rathcore is unbelievable for 25 euro a round, proper hidden gem!!!
Played this course lots as a young lad, great memories, fantastic camerawork lads, what a setting on the wild Atlantic - bring your surf boards next time
Very good links course offering many challenges, thought the golf was good with some excellent shots considering the conditions and lack of sunshine, great banter as usual.
Loving the videos gents, great stuff. I'd officially love to invite you over to play Ashbourne Golf Club in Meath whenever you would like !! Enjoy your few days in Ireland
Absolutely loved travelling to bundoran from Wexford to play golf. Liam I hit the wall of the hotel to the right of the green and the ball ended up 6 foot from the pin for a handy birdie haha. We had great times up there in the pro and and the hotel was top class.
Great video again golfmates it's great to come home from work sit down after tea and watch your antics ps well played Stu aka Roy 3 birdies and could've been more your back in the game can't wait for next week 👍😀
The last time I did a golf round as good as Stu’s it was all going so well until I misjudged the position of the rotating sail on the Windmill which then blocked the ball going through the concrete tunnel of the Lighthouse and then the round fell apart! Seriously Stu’s a star and a real gentleman . Top play!
Trying to work our why Boy is called Stu? But apart from that so great to see Roy drop three birdies and see the beauty of Donegal. Well done Golf mates great fun 👍⛳
Christy O'Connor senior was pro there for ten years, and Christy O'Connor JUNIOR hit that two iron to the heart of the eightenth green in the 1989 Ryder Cup against Fred Couples to win a magnificent point for Europe, not that I'm happy for Europe's victory in the 2023 Ryder Cup, oh no........magnificent video as always, and Roy.......superb. 16.5-11.5. Same as 1985 at The Belfry.
@@GolfMates must tell you this story. In 1987 I was playing with some friends at my home course in Thetford, Norfolk and I birdied the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th and had to sit down before teeing off on the 15th. My handicap was 20 at the time.......my putter was hotter than a crucible!

Donegal ! Arguably the coolest County in Ireland. The only County that drops my shoulders to relax, and escape in. 👍
Don't know how you guys can suffer your way around those fabulous courses. Great viewing with the obvious comradery (love the comments from behind the camera too :)). Keep it coming 👍
Thank you
