Thanks dude! I thought I was losing my touch. My saw it was 1° out! It’s all dialed in now. Thank you. It came from the lumberyard like that, so great video for new saw owners!

My Mikita was a different, with the same concept. I simply loosened three of the hold-down bolts and slightly loosened the forth. Then I was able to adjust the fence and tightened one of the three loose bolts and did test cuts budging the fence making cuts until my 90 degrees was perfect.
Tightened all bolts, retest cuts and was happy with the correction. Thank you👍👍👍

It's a garbage video. I tested my Makita using this other video's technique ua-cam.com/video/v1RBfdWLT3w/v-deo.html and I found that I was unable to get my detents (notches) to line up with the correct angles. That's because you cannot adjust detents on Makita saws. Makita supplies you with a tiny set square to test your angles, but if you use a big set square, as in the video I linked, you'll mostly find that the Makitas are out quite badly. When my Makita sliding mitre saw is set to exact 90° to the fence, sitting in the 0° detent, and you then move it to the 45° detent, you'll find it's at 43°. Unfixable, because detents not adjustable.

I just bought the LS1219L and the bevel screws are opposite. Tip the saw to the right and the right screw is the one you adjust. Thanks for the video

Im stuck on my 36volt 10 inch saw. I pushed the big black button on the back left side. It shows pic of adjusting saw unlock but now its stuck on 22 deg. I seen when the easy adjustment is in the front now but does nothing for it. I have to be doing something wrong.

Bought new LS0815FL..As it starts a sliding cut towards tge fence, first inch of material is being notched slightly left side of kerf before moving on through in a straight line!? Any ideas why this happens even when keeping a even forwards pressure (not pulling it to the left).

      @fkn16v 6 років тому

George McKnight surely there are screws or similar to loosen the laser fitting then adjust accordingly?
I’ll take a look at mine in a couple of days. But I’m sure that’s what my dad did.

My adjuster locking calibrating large round knob at the front has worn away over time it’s really stiff to move the swivel base plate once I finally get it to play ball I can’t find a single video on how to strip the hole bottom piece apart and put in new knob swivel plate and the button that works with the big locking and adjusting knob, could u please recommend a video please please

WhoDatBe Dare to be truthful I have not switched the saw on I’m so glad I didn’t pay £750 for it but partly because I like things to be right and I can’t find a viddie on stripping it all apart in particular the large knob button and catch at the front cheers for the replie buddie and if you do come across a viddie that would be good

When I was young blind people used to work at brush manufacturing. These days Makita is hiring them. On my brand new 1216L the outer ends of the fence were off by 1/10".

I couldn't find a video on the process, but did manage to find a rather crude step by step, which I need to do too: www.manualslib.com/manual/825848/Makita-Ls1017l.html?page=38#manual

  • @danielmoose1273

Thank You for posting this video. I agree with comments here that the music is distracting and irritating. The risk of missing embedded spoken instructions or tips prevents us from just zero-ing the volume, so we're kinda stuck with the music. People who have arrived at your video channel because of a misbehaving saw may already be experiencing stress over a scary kickback, waste, quality, time constraints, profit, nagging wife, et cetera, and since Power Saws Are Dangerous, we just want clear, accurate, detailed instructions ... Not music. We can jam later, AFTER we've stopped wasting wood, money, and time. Again, Excellent, Helpful Video ... just Please eliminate the music next time.

there's a thing called a mute button... try it some time.. this type of instructional video doesn't need narration. if you can't follow visual instructions then you probably shouldn't be operating a power saw lol

Thanks I am a contractor finish carpenter /cabinet maker? I tuned in and well you insisted on playing music for us?
I own bout 4 compound miter saws, 2 tables saws, and blah, blah!
Last Miter saw I had I wore out in bout 4 years?? It was a Bosh 12 “ Axial Arm? Head cracked & exhaust broke?
Bought a Mikita thought I would pick up some tips?
Instead you wanted to play music over your tips?
But who am I you obviously have 2 or 3 millions views on this one alone right?
You don’t need any feed back ? I am sorry I made you cry?
      Anyway wrong about the music?
      And wrong about my abilities!
      “Poof” your a success !

Dave I hv had two careers & I hv tools (hand planes) that R smarter than that comment ? Your properly sitting in a house someone built while making that remark?
Your an guy that is doing something he hates? Therefore you will never be successful ? Try something else my friend? Like I did? I was in a different line of work for 30 years and been a carpenter/contractor 12 yrs.
I just finished a custom table (commissioned ) for 5 G’s with my material cost bout 1400?
I hv a teaching credential ; in my former line of work whereas I could teach at the academy level?
But not a challenge; I picked what I enjoy doing!
Your simple working to live; in a trade you will never be good at?
Sorry brother 10 yrs is not much in my book?

Odd that you use a cheaply moulded bit of plastic to do a precision task such as this. And that music drove me nuts!
