This short clip doesn't do him justice. Here's what I believe he's saying. Everyone has their own afflictions and pains. No one can escape the cross of this life. Whether that be sexual immorality, (fornication, Sodomy, etc.) Addictions, etc. Everyone has their own battles for their own reasons. God teaches us through our battles and afflictions. No one is special in their pain. God tells us this brokenness and pain is not our true identity. So God invites us, to say no to this brokenness, and to accept our true identity as adopted children of God. As someone who can be loved so much that our sacred Lord Jesus shed his own blood and tasted death, specifically for you. And then overcame it so we can be forgiven of all of our brokenness through the death of Jesus which we deserved. We won't ve spared of the burdens of life regardless, but if we surrender our brokenness to God, he promises that their is more for us. Comfort, love, peace, wisdom, patience, gentleness, self-control, eternal life, etc. He promises all of these wonderful things to us if we say yes to our true identity. People may rebuttal with the idea that the pain they're going through no one understands. It's too hard. No one understands what's going on with you. But the God with infinite wisdom, power, love, mercy, justice, life, etc. Does indeed know what you're going through and he will deliver you through your hardships. You can trust the Lord.

Take note that these are men of great scholastic wisdom who had nothing else to do but pray, read, and ponder on the message of the Bible since there was nothing else to do in those days. If they consider that the additional verses (which also included the last few chapters in Mark's gospel among others) were of merit and of divine inspiration, then who are you to deny it? Almost every Catholic knows that the Gospels weren't written by the Apostles themselves and so we instead seek the truth that have been revealed to us by these men inspired by God's revelations. Also, just because it wasn't written by an Apostle or some Old Testament prophet, doesn't mean it is uninspired. To add, the Church had already removed those books that were deemed heretical and "gnostic" in nature. If you still doubt, then go defend your claim once you see God, but whatever was bound and lossed by the Church given by Christ to Peter, this includes those made by Peter's successors and the councils they presided upon, is also bound and loosed in heaven.
The Spurious Passage at John 7:53-8:11! These 12 verses have obviously been added to the original text of John’s Gospel. They are not found in the Sinaitic Manuscript or the Vatican Manuscript No. 1209. They are omitted by most of the early versions and it’s evident they aren’t part of John’s Gospel. The message was; No one can escape sin or temptation, God created you, he knows what’s going on in your life and what your struggling with. God made you gay or bisexual or whatever, to test you, to make you suffer, and to see weather or not you still welcome Christ. That’s what the message meant to me, this is what he explained and also encourages.
What I found most profound in this is that everyone is suffering in some way and you made that so clear when you shared how you felt when all your friends were getting married. It's not just the marginalized. I wish people were more understanding of that. Suffering is our reparations for our sins and how we become worthy of heaven.

Plato's teaching, inspired by Socrates 400 odd hundred years before Christ, was that we should move from loving beautiful bodies to loving the idea of the beautiful. The priest demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of same-sex attraction, and perhaps sexual attraction in general. It's inate, just like opposite-sex attraction. If you believe God creates people as he means to, then you must believe he creates people who are attracted to people of their same sex. Denying that attraction would be going against God's creation. Listen to gay men, lesbian women, and bisexual women and men. They don't describe it as a sin or "struggle", unless others have shamed them for it. They describe knowing who they are attracted usually very early, the same way straight people do.
Using your logic we should condone murder too right? Many murderers say they have an innate desire to kill. Many rapists & pedophiles do too. What about people who feel an innate urge to steal? Furthermore, what about the research that suggests a link between sexual abuse/trauma as minors & being gay as an adult? Everyone has a cross to bear but this particular community simply can't deny themselves gratification. Even AIDS in the 80s & 90s didn't stop them. If you won't stop engaging in certain acts you know for sure are killing an alarming number of people in your community then what will? Thank you for caring for others, you are a beautiful person. As someone who has struggled with same sex attraction in the past, but no longer acts on nor even indulges such fantasies, I think we need to be firm when it comes to the rejection of the homosexuality and other related sexual sins. However, we must see that everyone is a beautiful child of God, equal in dignity. We should be gentle and patient as Christ has been gentle and patient with us. We should not make anyone feel that their particular sin is too grave or that they are less worthy of salvation than any of us. Because, there isn't even one among us who is worthy, yet Christ died for each of us despite our wretchedness. I also think that JP2's Theology of the Body could help so many understand the true nature of the human body and exactly why and how sexual sin harms us individually (and consequently all of humanity) so deeply. LGBTIQ+ people are the cross for Christians because they challenge how Christians stick to Jesus' new command to love each other. And when I am talking about love I do not mean just saying "I love queer people" but also giving proof of that love by corresponding actions. Besides I like him truthfully saying that it is the "churches teaching on SSA". It is not what God's teaching is. But one does not realize that unless they consider the cultural context of the Bible.

Unfortunately the Church doesn't take this approach. They truly believe that God made people homosexual and that that the solution is to be celibate. According to them, homosexuality is a cross to bear, that you can never escape.
If you are sleep deprived like me and can’t focus for shit he basically said, homosexual acts are a sin, not being homosexual. He also said to tell homosexuals to not commit that sin, and do it in a nice way. Basically treat them like any other sinner
I am Catholic and was “born again” when I was baptized as a Catholic infant and strengthened in Christ on my Confirmation at the age of 14 years. Later in life I wandered from the Church to explore other Christian faiths, primarily non-denominational “born again” Christian, where I erroneously thought that I needed another baptism in Christ. As a child of God and servant to the teaching of Christ (and born against Christian) I evangelized the great witness in hospitals, in schools, in my everyday life. Yet I felt something was missing. Then I came back home to the Catholic Faith. God welcomed me back. I grew so, so much stronger in my Savior. I have read and studied the Bible in its entirety 8 times since I came back to the Church, in addition to numerous spiritual apologies and books. I felt found, I felt loved, I cannot give Him enough, He is my breath, He is my life. In the Catholic community I was truly “born again” as I felt the strength and unity of Faith (and I did not have to be re-baptized). In the Catholic Church Christ is the center. The entire faith rests upon the shoulders of our Savior, as we bow in humility, and raise Him in glory. The Catholic Church is the unity of Christ himself. I am so thankful that I made it back home!

This short clip doesn't do him justice. Here's what I believe he's saying. Everyone has their own afflictions and pains. No one can escape the cross of this life. Whether that be sexual immorality, (fornication, Sodomy, etc.) Addictions, etc. Everyone has their own battles for their own reasons. God teaches us through our battles and afflictions. No one is special in their pain. God tells us this brokenness and pain is not our true identity. So God invites us, to say no to this brokenness, and to accept our true identity as adopted children of God. As someone who can be loved so much that our sacred Lord Jesus shed his own blood and tasted death, specifically for you. And then overcame it so we can be forgiven of all of our brokenness through the death of Jesus which we deserved. We won't ve spared of the burdens of life regardless, but if we surrender our brokenness to God, he promises that their is more for us. Comfort, love, peace, wisdom, patience, gentleness, self-control, eternal life, etc. He promises all of these wonderful things to us if we say yes to our true identity. People may rebuttal with the idea that the pain they're going through no one understands. It's too hard. No one understands what's going on with you. But the God with infinite wisdom, power, love, mercy, justice, life, etc. Does indeed know what you're going through and he will deliver you through your hardships. You can trust the Lord.

Take note that these are men of great scholastic wisdom who had nothing else to do but pray, read, and ponder on the message of the Bible since there was nothing else to do in those days. If they consider that the additional verses (which also included the last few chapters in Mark's gospel among others) were of merit and of divine inspiration, then who are you to deny it? Almost every Catholic knows that the Gospels weren't written by the Apostles themselves and so we instead seek the truth that have been revealed to us by these men inspired by God's revelations. Also, just because it wasn't written by an Apostle or some Old Testament prophet, doesn't mean it is uninspired. To add, the Church had already removed those books that were deemed heretical and "gnostic" in nature. If you still doubt, then go defend your claim once you see God, but whatever was bound and lossed by the Church given by Christ to Peter, this includes those made by Peter's successors and the councils they presided upon, is also bound and loosed in heaven.

These 12 verses have obviously been added to the original text of John’s Gospel. They are not found in the Sinaitic Manuscript or the Vatican Manuscript No. 1209. They are omitted by most of the early versions and it’s evident they aren’t part of John’s Gospel.
On group of Greek manuscripts places this passage at the end of John’s Gospel; another group puts it after Luke 21:38, supporting the conclusion that it’s a spurious and uninspired text!

What I found most profound in this is that everyone is suffering in some way and you made that so clear when you shared how you felt when all your friends were getting married. I’d like to hear the opinions of divorced and remarried Catholics. Especially the ones who line up for Holy Communion every Sunday.
Here’s the thing, homosexuality is clearly condemned in scripture. If you want to live that lifestyle then don’t be a Christian. It’s simple. It’s a free country here. Do whatever you want however you can’t change a religion to fit you. For example, I can’t say I’m going to be a Muslim but not follow the teachings. I can’t say “oh I’m a Jew” yet break Jewish teachings. This younger generation just can’t grasp this concept. They think everything has to cater to them. Be gay all you want but don’t be a silly ninny

I saw a video of a redeemed person who was transitioning. She said God showed her that her identity had been stolen by the enemy. And it happened at such a young age that she had no clue that it happened or what her true identity was.
That's how it is. But everyone is too scared to talk about the truth. The enemy can attack you at a really young age. The enemy is also the author of confusion. Hence people don't always know how he works.

You may have been born that way but You have to be born again to enter heaven John chapter 3. Romans chapter 3 we’re all sinners and all fallen short of Gods glory, truth is we ALL are sinners, there’s not one perfect person on Earth, there was only Jesus Christ who was perfect. Romans 6 if it wasn’t for the law I wouldn’t have known I was sinning. Bible says only the righteous can enter heaven, and we’re all sinners how does it all add up ? Well Jesus took our punishment on the cross for the whole world, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life go back to John chapter 3 again. That’s Gods love for us and grace to us, we turn away from our sins and trust in Jesus, but none of this makes sense if we’re perishing with a proud heart, it wasn’t until I got humbled and saw who I really was a sinner that was no better than my friend that slept with my gf, I was a sinner too, but if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t see how much I needed Jesus and God saved me, so I pray for you, and read your Bible on Bible gateway NIV or any version and pray to Jesus and you’ll see it’s all from love not hate that his Gospel comes from.
None of our human feelings of inadequacy can be fixed by a doctor, mental anguish can only be quenched by turning to God and inviting him into our hearts. We all have our cross to bear. Too many of us wrongly believe we must search for happiness,happiness is not the goal,the devil tries to trick us into believing that. That is selfishness. God wants us to give. Only in giving can we receive. Give your time,give your patience,give your wisdom,share your God given talents,lend your ear,your shoulder for somebody to cry on. Stop searching for self perfection in the wrong places. Pray. Pray for your enemies. Ask God to use you for his higher purpose. 🙏

The church really has no business talking about 'same sex attraction'. The bible only mentions sex ACTS. And a homosexual is NOT defined by acts but by attraction.
Plato's teaching, inspired by Socrates 400 odd hundred years before Christ, was that we should move from loving beautiful bodies to loving the idea of the beautiful. It doesn't get more spiritual/ascetic than this form of renunciation, shared with many Eastern spiritual traditions. It's not about sex, but about renunciation--whatever the sexuality.

The priest demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of same-sex attraction, and perhaps sexual attraction in general. It's inate, just like opposite-sex attraction. If you believe God creates people as he means to, then you must believe he creates people who are attracted to people of their same sex. Denying that attraction would be going against God's creation. Listen to gay men, lesbian women, and bisexual women and men. They don't describe it as a sin or "struggle", unless others have shamed them for it. They describe knowing who they are attracted usually very early, the same way straight people do.
Using your logic we should condone murder too right? Many murderers say they have an innate desire to kill. Many rapists & pedophiles do too. What about people who feel an innate urge to steal? Furthermore, what about the research that suggests a link between sexual abuse/trauma as minors & being gay as an adult? Everyone has a cross to bear but this particular community simply can't deny themselves gratification. Even AIDS in the 80s & 90s didn't stop them. If you won't stop engaging in certain acts you know for sure are killing an alarming number of people in your community then what will? That community is the most hedonistic & degenerate community in history.
I think what we need more is not what do we do if WE have the same sec attractions but for most of us what does that mean as far as loving our friends and family who have it? I’m GenX, been around and had gay friends all my life, and even though the church isn’t teaching this, if feel that the “Church culture” today treats gays much like lepers in Jesus’ times, like a virus.
Thank you for caring for others, you are a beautiful person. As someone who has struggled with same sex attraction in the past, but no longer acts on nor even indulges such fantasies, I think we need to be firm when it comes to the rejection of the homosexuality and other related sexual sins. However, we must see that everyone is a beautiful child of God, equal in dignity. We should be gentle and patient as Christ has been gentle and patient with us. We should not make anyone feel that their particular sin is too grave or that they are less worthy of salvation than any of us. Because, there isn't even one among us who is worthy, yet Christ died for each of us despite our wretchedness. I also think that JP2's Theology of the Body could help so many understand the true nature of the human body and exactly why and how sexual sin harms us individually (and consequently all of humanity) so deeply. LGBTIQ+ people are the cross for Christians because they challenge how Christians stick to Jesus' new command to love each other.
And when I am talking about love I do not mean just saying "I love queer people" but also giving proof of that love by corresponding actions.
Besides I like him truthfully saying that it is the "churches teaching on SSA". It is not what God's teaching is. But one does not realize that unless they consider the cultural context of the Bible.

A lot of people end up in same-sex relationships because they were abused as kids - and engaging in homosexuality doesn’t fix that problem for them. Once you realize that same-sex relations are actually preventing them from healing, I think it is easier to speak out against it. There is more at stake than hurt feelings, and so much more to GAIN from abstaining 🙏
My heart goes out to people struggling with this, and I would encourage you to trace those desires back to when they began - what else was happening in your life at the same time? Did you see something as a child you shouldn’t have? Did someone you should have been able to trust treat you inappropriately? Were you exposed to pornography?
Asking these questions may help you understand yourself and why this has happened to you, and how to heal. It’s not your fault, you are not irreparably broken, and you have control over your future ❤✝️
Unfortunately the Church doesn't take this approach. They truly believe that God made people homosexual and that that the solution is to be celibate.
According to them, homosexuality is a cross to bear, that you can never escape.

i was Catholic,now i am a born again Christian, witness , child of God, and servant of Jesus Christ, word of God comes first- read the Bible!
I am Catholic and was “born again” when I was baptized as a Catholic infant and strengthened in Christ on my Confirmation at the age of 14 years.
Later in life I wandered from the Church to explore other Christian faiths, primarily non-denominational “born again” Christian, where I erroneously thought that I needed another baptism in Christ. As a child of God and servant to the teaching of Christ (and born against Christian) I evangelized the great witness in hospitals, in schools, in my everyday life. Yet I felt something was missing.
Then I came back home to the Catholic Faith. God welcomed me back. I grew so, so much stronger in my Savior. I have read and studied the Bible in its entirety 8 times since I came back to the Church, in addition to numerous spiritual apologies and books. I felt found, I felt loved, I cannot give Him enough, He is my breath, He is my life. In the Catholic community I was truly “born again” as I felt the strength and unity of Faith (and I did not have to be re-baptized). In the Catholic Church Christ is the center. The entire faith rests upon the shoulders of our Savior, as we bow in humility, and raise Him in glory.
The Catholic Church is the unity of Christ himself.

What would you think when The Church would say "you cannot enter any relationship in your entire life". Love is not a feeling; it is not an emotion. Love is to will the good of others. Feelings can deceive. Sex chromosomes are present in every cell of the body. Objectively, God created us, male or female. Because we are broken, sometimes our body is too. some of us are more prone to addictions, but it doesn’t mean we should follow. Our feelings. Life is a struggle and everyone has, or everyone carries a Cross in this life.

I am a Christian and enjoy some of Father Mike's teaching but I'm very disappointed that he is dancing around the subject of homosexual which the Bible is very clear that God said, is an abomination of sin period. There's no gray area in the scriptures; Leviticus 18:22 and Romans chapter 1. Also read The Book of John to know what Jesus did for us to deliver us from a sinful life and to become born again and learn to live a new life in Christ. No judgement, just love ❤️🙏
