    Hopefully this video will give you an understanding on how to do this job. You can use SAE and Metric tools for this job. Be careful of Metric Imperial Bolts/Nuts threads if you need to replace something. Don't mix them up. You will mess up the threads. Thanks for watching!

    You're a blessing. My local shop was trying to charge over a grand for parts and labor to fix my bearings. Your video knocked it to a 1/4 of the price

    Didn't have to do half of the removal you did. Better to leave the hub on and try the bearing removal kit you mentioned with cups and everything you need. And since you said you never used the kit and had the press, what works for you is extra work (and expense) for everyone else. O'Reilly's auto has a zero charge on the removal/install kit if you buy the bearings from them (deposit it $425 but you get it all back). Or just buy the kit at Harbor freight for $119 if your going to do the job again (cheaper than his press was years ago). And if you use a little penitrating oil or at least some WD-40 on your nuts, bolts, fittings (even the bearing clip and sleeve itself (and let it soak in) you might not need to heat anything (could damage rubber and other parts with no need). Then if all that fails, you do what this guy does. Don't know about you but less work and cost (if possible) is my adage always!

    The tie rods are held on by a locking nut. You melt the plastic off using a torch. I soaked mine ahead of time with creeping oil and had no problem breaking them loose.

      just put a floor jack under the tierod end and lift up a little, thatll keep the stud from spinning, take the nut all the way off throw a spritz of oil on the threads and turn it back on a few turns an a wack from a hammer will pop the tie rod end out spin the nut off by hand

      You don't have to pull the whole thing apart. They have bearing puller/press kits online. Makes it much easier.

      pretty sure the rear bearings are hub/units only you just get the whole assembly no pressing needed

  • @jimiverson6171
    @jimiverson6171 2 роки тому +1

    instead of pushing the bearing out, couldnt you easily replace just the whole hub with the new bearing. Thats if you cant afford a 200 press, or don't use one enough to buy a press.

    You can see from a mile away the old bearing inner was turning on the hub, why not replace it, instead of doing a patch job, in three months time you'll do it all over again, hopefully then a bearing and a HUB sir
