@@justapatrolman4246 For people that are more difficult. It gives them a little less wiggle room to try anything. I also think chained are easier to slip under your feet to get the cuffs in front of you.
Question, don't you worry about a bullet ricocheting off the gear on your vest? I had switched to a molle vest and moved the majority of my gear off my belt, but then I thought about the whole point of wearing armor is I hope I'm shot there, and if I have a bunch of metal things attached to it, it kinda defeats the purpose. IDK, love to hear your thoughts, cuz I am starting to have issues with sciatica and pain in my lower back, which I heard the load-bearing vest was designed to mitigate.
I absolutely do not worry about that. Reason being, none of the things on my vest are hard enough to deflect a bullet. Even the handcuffs won’t do much. The bullet will go through them like butter. And even if one did ricochet off of something, it would be spall that got me. Again, I don’t think the odds of that are even measurable. For me, the benefits of the load being on my upper body outweighs the minuscule risk. If you think about it, military guys carry much more stuff on their torsos than I do. How many stories have you heard where a round bounced off a magazine or something and tagged the guy or one of his buddies? And they tend to get shot at more than me (theoretically😂). Good question! I had not actually thought about that, so thanks for the inquiry. That’s one way we learn. I’m asking for questions on my discord. Would you mind if I used this one in a Q&A video? And if that’s ok, do you want me to give you a shoutout?

Hahaha yea it was fun doing that but I’d have been slightly put off had it been me. We can certainly try to keep making that kind of content. The bad thing is that it really doesn’t change much. If you get it in white to front and red/blue to rear you can have full white flood to front or turn the red light on so it’s not to bright to read better. Just a suggestion, have seen a lot of officers getting them and being incredibly useful to keep hands free, purchased a couple for myself as I work roadside and have been struck before because drivers are to focused on what’s going on rather then what’s in front of them, so it’s nice to have. Interesting fact: Those side pockets you're talking about I believe are meant for slappers or saps, most departments have made them against policy to have but some still use them. Their weighted leather pouches that are great to use in CQC from what I've heard from cops who work for the few agencies that carry them, I'd suggest you see if your agency has a policy against them and look into getting one as I've heard they are very useful in CQC in comparison to an ASP.
I carried a blackjack for years, very effective in a fight but they were outlawed in the last 10 years of my 30 year career (retired in ‘97). When I began my career all we carried was a revolver, 12 extra rounds, cuffs & a baton. No portable radio until much later. Cops today carry a LOT of gear with them.
My Goal is to be a Police Officer and would pick the Vest Carrier and the things that would go on the Vest are Handcuffs,Pepper Spray,Magazines,Flashlight,Asp and Tourniquet and the thing's that i would have on the Belt are Gun Taser,Radio and a Pair of Handcuffs on the Belt What Brand of Handcuffs do you Both Carry?

Not to sound like an asshole but I am an armed security officer and my gear is better. Of course only the uniform is agency issued and I had to buy my own gear. And I bought top shelf stuff that costs me a pretty penny.
I'm a bit late but it feels weird seeing an officer smoke/vape. My dept does not hire or keep anyone who uses nicotine or tobacco products, or has in the past 12 months. You are polygraphed on this. The other big city and the county both prohibit officers from smoking/vaping in uniform, on duty or in their cars. It's a 1 strike then you're out policy. My department has also banned any use of Olight products, after 1 burned a vest and the armor and then another burnt a seat as it was charging. Other than that, I'd say you all are in line with my department. We no longer carry batons or OC. We all carry window breakers/seatbelt cutters. a glove pouch, IFAK and bodycam
I haven’t shared anything sensitive. I’ve done much less sharing than shows like Cops and Live PD have done. What I shared was a drop in the bucket compared to the reality of the job. But I’m hoping it helped someone view you and I as human instead of cold blooded racist killers like much of society thinks we are currently. That’s the purpose of all my videos. Not sharing the basics of what we do is part of the reason we have such a bad rep at the moment. Think of this video as a ride along. My agency offers them to the community (with a background check and liability paperwork). A ride along would expose someone to much more than this video did.

Yea I gain at least 30 pounds when I get dressed for work. Part of me envys you. Love your name by the way
My Goal is to be a Police Officer and would pick the Vest Carrier and the things that would go on the Vest are Handcuffs,Pepper Spray,Magazines,Flashlight,Asp and Tourniquet and the thing's that i would have on the Belt are Gun Taser,Radio and a Pair of Handcuffs on the Belt
What Brand of Handcuffs do you Both Carry?
I like the smith and Wesson lever locks. I don’t remember what Jordan carries
I have a ? So what kind of vape/flavor is that Ryder??
It’s an aegis mod with a “big beast” tank…or something. I can’t remember exactly. And as for the flavor, I don’t remember. But it was likely something fruity lol. I’ve since stopped vaping and gone back to dipping. I got pneumonia for the second time (likely not due to vaping), and my lungs aren’t the same as they were before
Oh no, sir sorry to hear about that. Yeah kicking the nicotine habit can be quite the challenge! Any tips for quitting?
@donaewestonpiperjr.4575 hahaha! Even if I did have some, would you really trust ME to give you advice? I’ve “quit” nicotine about 47.3 different times. And here I am🤣
Also I carry an off side Protech in case I can’t get to my CCW, god forbid I ever would have too.
Yep I understand. People may think I’m itching to use a knife on someone just because I have three of them on me at work. But that’s definitely not the case. It’s just options and preparation. I have yet to get a protech but I have played with one that belongs to a friend. Can’t remember which one it is off hand. They’re nice knives if his is any indication. Which one do you have?
@@justapatrolman4246 I have the Protech Arcform Slimfoot auto. It’s a sheepsfoot blade, great for slicing and cutting tasks, not good for piercing. And I totally understand carrying 3 knives. A knife is just another tool no matter what the job is, I carried a Microtech OTF for the longest time being a maintenance technician. It just worked for me.
Thanks for the understanding!😂
You don’t carry the microtech anymore?
@@justapatrolman4246 no I had a buddy that was a huge Microtech collector, and he offered to trade me a couple watches for my Microtech. I have a extensive knife collection so I took him up on the offer. My main carry lately has been a ASK by Askknives/Medford, and a Medford Smooth Criminal. It all depends on the day tbh on what I’m grabbing lol.
My grail knife right now is a praetorian ti. I want it almost bad enough to sell off my knives lol
I’m a watch guy too. Sounds like we have some of the same interests
AWESOME!!!!
I wonder how you guys did that jumping trick 🤔
I get a laugh with all of your videos 😁😁
Y'all are hilarious!
Haha I’m glad you laugh. We laugh at ourselves
@@justapatrolman4246 hahahaha I don't blame you! 😄
@@justapatrolman4246 I have to admit (even though I've seen it in some of your other videos) I do very much like your watch! It's cool 😁
I think I'll be leaving a million and one comments here 😁😄
All your videos happen to entertain me, that's pretty much what I watch over the weekend hahahaha (Friday night and Saturday night) 😁
Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what I'd be doing at night on the weekends if I didn't subscribe to your channel, or should I say, meet you on discord first hahaha
I'd probably end up going straight to bed or even play a few games then crash lol
Since I met you I've been well entertained 😁

What self defense rounds / bullet do you officers use
We’re issued 9mm gold dot
@@justapatrolman4246 thanks for the reply
Absolutely!
@@justapatrolman4246 hey sorry, what grain is it?
@andresvalentinesantos8746 no worries! I’d have to look at a box. I don’t keep my spare ammo in its box so I’ll have to answer that next time we’re issued ammo😅
Эти белые парни внушают доверие. 👍
Well thank you! We try
Tnx guys, greetings from Croatia!
I love that you’re watching from Croatia!
Y’all be safe out there!!
Will do our best!
Cool video added a thumbs up and sub. I actually got the same pants and your right, very light and breath well.
Thanks man! I greatly appreciate the support
Is officer Jordan the husband of Maegan Hall and the Tennessee dept incident?
I have no idea what incident that is, but no. He’s from Louisiana
@@justapatrolman4246 ohh okay sorry. I got confused for a second because I saw something on the news about it and noticed he looked familiar lol. By the way like your channel dude!
No worries and thank you much!!
Just curious what ammo do you carry on duty
We’re issued gold dot for our 9mm and I want to say Winchester soft point for our 5.56
@@justapatrolman4246 oh ok just curious do you know what kind of gold dots you’re issued for 9mm
😳I didn’t know there were different kinds of gold dot😅. I’ll look next time I’m issued a box if I can remember
Ryder anyone ever tell you that you look like Ron Livingston?
Nope that’s a new one. I get Orlando bloom and Joseph Gordon levitt a lot though
OC spray?
It’s in my bag. It’s a large fan that’s too big to carry on me. Good eye
is wearing all that police gear on the job painful overtime?
With the load bearing vest it is much better. Before we had them when everything was on my belt it did get painful sometimes.
@@justapatrolman4246 oh alright when everything was on your belt did you have anything like sciatica throughout the job or just normal low back pain?
Nothing that bothered me too bad on my off days. So I guess just minor pain
Are your uniforms LAPD NAVY or black?
They’re very very very very very very very very dark navy
@@justapatrolman4246 what brand?
I’ll have to look, I’m honestly not sure. Stand by a bit
Armor and carrier is point blank
no body cams yet you guys are deff in the middle of no where lol nice video though. would love to see body cams for your safety. BTB!
We are definitely not in the middle of nowhere hahaha. For some reason body cams were slower in adoption in north Louisiana than where I came from in south Louisiana. I absolutely miss having one. It has so many benefits and no negatives unless you’re a bad cop. Thank you for your support! 🙏
Stop vaping bro
Nice video btw
@@diggydumbo9294 it’s either that or dipping. I’ve discovered I don’t have the mental or emotional fortitude to quit nicotine😂. Thanks!
Not to sound like an asshole but I am an armed security officer and my gear is better. Of course only the uniform is agency issued and I had to buy my own gear. And I bought top shelf stuff that costs me a pretty penny.
Oh yea if you get to use your own gear, you can absolutely have stuff DEVGRU would be proud of lol. You don’t sound like an asshole.
Gee, where do you put the kitchen sink? HA GOT 'EM
Couldn’t show it due to UA-cam guidelines😁

Yea there’s a lot I could do if YT weren’t the way it is

Are you a dispatcher? Just asking because of your name
@@justapatrolman4246 No im a deputy
Awesome. Be careful
@@justapatrolman4246 You as well 🇺🇸
Thank you for your service to both of you. Be safe out there!
That’s some strict nicotine laws lol!! I cannot even imagine. There would be a mass exodus if that were implemented here
@@justapatrolman4246 insurance reasons mainly. But also it’s what the people want 🤷♂️

Hi I'm police
Hello! Where do you work?
@@justapatrolman4246 uh idk . I think he swat.
@Policenathan I’m confused
I being a thirty year retired peace officer would not be sharing all this information. Not to bright.🤔
@@justapatrolman4246 Well said . Stay safe and always watch your back.👮♀️
Will do! I didn’t mean to sound like I don’t appreciate your concern and/or feedback. I just reread it and realized that might be the case
didnt cost you anything...lol...good one mr. copper. Why not say thank you to the us, the people, who pay taxes so you can wear $200 pair of boots and be comfortable?
Thank you for supporting whatever police department patrols whatever jurisdiction you’re in by paying your taxes. I highly doubt it’s mine, which means you paid nothing towards any of my equipment.
😂
😁
SERIOUSLY? You are vaping during your video? Can't you control your urge to partake for even 17 minutes while filming your video?
Terribly sorry to have triggered you lol!
