- Welcome to Reactionize - our quest to react and review every single Def Leppard track! It's a long, fun journey, so we hope you'll stay with us.
After surviving the grunge years, Def Leppard ended the '90s with a return to form with the album Euphoria. Today, we tackle the opening track off Euphoria, 'Demolition Man'. A fast-paced, high-energy tune, 'Demolition Man' served as a great tune to show Def Leppard coming back to their roots. There is also a special appearance on guitar by British Formula 1 Racer Damon Hill on guitar. We enjoyed 'Demolition Man' and Euphoria overall but want to hear your thoughts. Be sure to like, subscribe, and comment below!
Cheers, enjoy Reactionize, and as always...ROCK ON!

Great song. I love that album. Demolition, paper Sun, Promises, 21st Century…great stuff!
Agreed, full of good stuff and a much needed return to form after the mid-90s (even though I'm a big fan of Slang)! Cheers, Todd~ A
It took me a few years to figure out that Joe sang “I tasted mud” instead of “I tasted blood”. Never made sense to me until I realized what actually being sung. Not the first time that’s ever happened to me listening to DL. 🤪
Ha! Don't feel bad George, I used to think in 'Let's Get Rocked' they sang "suddenly we can, up all night", instead of seven day weekend, up all night. The best part is that I had a seven-day weekend tour shirt from Adrenalize, LOL! Happens to the best of us :) Cheers! ~A
1999 was the first of my college years.
Just heard a live version of this song. And heard it when they played my hometown of Allegan, Michigan.
They should have let Vivian play the outro solo. Not that race car driver.
Still love the song.
Our college years must have been crossing paths, Adam :). I remember listening to this album; so excited they returned to their roots (although I love Slang). As for Viv, I wish he was more involved in the writing process with Leppard because when he does contribute, I love it. Sav, Joe, and Phil do most of the writing, but Viv is vastly underrated as a player, singer, and writer. Cheers, Adam! ~A
A very deep track Def song that I didn't know as a huge Lep fan but I really liked it good tune!
Awesome! Hopefully, you will enjoy plenty more deep cuts you didn't know were out there. We're having a blast doing this, and there are many more songs on the way. Cheers friend! ~A
I actually really love All Night from Euphoria. Many fans don't like it, or outright hate it, but I reckon it would've done well at the time as a single given the tone of music by that time and the way the song was.
So funny you say that, because it's one of my favorite tracks on the album and I can't wait to review it. I have a feeling Todd is gonna hate it...LOL! Love the Prince-esq vibe and the funky guitar work. It's such a fun song and I believe one of the two that Mutt hand a hand in. We'll see what happens when we get there! Cheers! ~A
I actually love “All Night.”
@@adamschwab9948 With ya! We'll see if Todd agrees, LOL!
Def Leppard is known as an amazing singles band, but they also have so many awesome album tracks that they will probably never play live again.
Like AC/DC they'll just do the hits, make people happy, and that's it.
I'd love to see them break this one out, or a couple of songs off 'X'.
Couldn't agree more... I think the Vegas shows, especially when they opened for themselves as "Ded Flatbird' was awesome. You got to hear the hits still they threw in a bunch of obscure stuff as well, plus they played for over 2 hours. Joe always said, "don't write a hit song if you don't want to play it', Gotta be hard to find a balance that works. Still, I would love to hear some deep tracks because you're right... they have a catalog full of great stuff! Cheers ~A
@@2TEN90 I heard someone ask why they never play anything off 'Slang' and Joe said "Because only you and three other people in the crowd would want to hear it."
@@RolandDeschain1 I would love to see a club tour where they just played Slang from start to finish in the first half of the gig and then ended with some hits. I think people would go crazy for it!
Next vid you guys should do HELLO AMERICA from Top Pop show…teenage Lepps…never shaven in their life yet lol.
Haha! I love it... Wasted is definitely in the rotation, so I may pull that video for it. Love old videos of the guys...shows what a long journey it's been, but there is something special about those first two albums! Cheers!
@@2TEN90 I’m not talking about Wasted…but…the song HELLO AMERICA from Top Pop show, where you can tell their age…teenagers…UA-cam the song and make sure from Top Pop show :)))
Start of this album is great, not a huge fan of goodbye but I love the darker ballads later like to be alive and Paper Sun is a top 30 Lep tune along with Promises
Agreed, John... not every song hits, but there are plenty of solid tracks on here to make Euphoria a great return of sorts for Leppard after the mid-90s grunge movement. I also think Paper Sun is a top 30. Killer tune, and I really like the Drastic Symphonies version as well! Cheers, John ~A
@2TEN90 totally agree with the drastic symphonies, Gods of War is numerous uno and Paper sun is right next to it
@@johnwilson6084 Sneak peak, a Drastic Symphonies song should be coming out next
😊😊😊😊
Another one of your favorites!
