I test drove a new Nissan Rogue last week and after coming back we opened the hood and there was smoke coming out of the engine. The salesman mentioned that new engines have chemicals/lubricants on new engines so thats what caused it. Was skeptical after I heard all the various horror stories from online reviews. Dont think everyone has problems, but a high percentage do compared to other SUVs.

I own 2023 Nissan Rouge with gas/oil odor since I bought it and got worse with 6,600 miles .they install some new parts and updated hose for odor,if the problem is fuel into oil wash down its a time bomb for engine failure.want my money back,I own my car.what is the government laws on this problem. Help
What do you mean already gone?
Almost all engines of this nature have a small level of O.D. Honda had a problem primarily in extremely cold climates, usually with many stop and starts without proper warm-ups. Honda has abated most of the problems, but it still seems to be vastly more in Cold Climate Regions and only in CR-Vs.
If your Nissan is running fine so far, I would worry more about my transmission, especially if its a JATCO C.V.T.

You ok? I took delivery of my 2023 Rogue Platinum in October of this year and around 1500km or a month and a half, garage and house started to smell of gas. Got rid of it at 1841km...
It doesn’t work on all Rogues. Mine still smells. Not as bad but still there unfortunately
I took to the dealer he fixed it and it was good for 3 weeks and again stated the smell.
