During the service itself, ALL the music was conducted by Dr (later Sir) Ernest Bullock CVO BMus FRCO, who was the Abbey's Organist and Master of the Choristers and Director of Music for the Coronation. It was the same for the 1953 service. Boult performed the same duties before and after. Sir William McKie conducted all the music during the service itself.
At Charles's coronation Andrew Nethsingha, conducted the choir in the Chancellor of the Abbey and Pompano conducted the orchestra on the screen...both conductors working simultaneously. I'm sure it was the same here.
