4 Stories from Latin America

- We’ve got packed schedule ahead of us as we tour Latin America. Let’s go. First stop, the Quehue District of Peru, to witness a centuries-old tradition in action-the construction of a handwoven rope bridge. Next, we head to Xochimilco, Mexico, where a man is saving floating farms known as chinampas. Our third story explores the origin of the bicycle kick, (and, boy is it complicated). Finally, our travel ends in Cuba where we roll with street racers.

I love Latin America! Proud to have visited almost every country and to be born in Bolivia even if it’s not the richest country in the world.

Feels like fresh breeze to watch some people still keeping their beautiful culture alive . Btw those colorful caps or beanie they were wearing in the first clip , Idk what to call it lol were looking so cute and beautiful 😊 .
Theyre called chullos. They are all over andean culture not only in Peru. The indigenous people here like vibrant colors and they put it on everything.

the gods are fickle - they demand a new bridge every year.
I got an ad about great big story's channel... on a great big story video... ok.
Spanish is my first language but honestly I couldn't understand the men talking about the bridge at the beginning, I had to check the subtitles. Is that a dialect of that area?
Es español, pero con acento pronunciado quechua.
@@glorialeyva8227 que interesante, no sabía. Gracias por la aclaración

So how does this help us solve the liber primus?
Lol
We all know that that football move is called "chilena"
Nice video. The Cuban accent can confuse a bit, so open but beautiful at the same time.
How many people can be on the rope bridge at one time?

Is it just me or did you get Minecraft flashbacks?
CICADA EPISODE 5
Unzaga did the bycicle kick before Leônidas da Silva. Unzaga, however, is Spanish by birth: not that much of a deep rooted latin-american move.

Bicicletaaa
I'm South American and hear Peruvian people on a daily basis, but that accent is really thick, almost like Paraguayan Spanish
Is because spanish is actually their second language
Violeta Alave did you guys notice that the name for the ropes has a click sound? I thought (and apparently the internet says the same thing) that only African languages had clicks? Does anyone know what language they are speaking? Is it Quechua or something different?
@@23Khameo I heard Spanish lol
@@23Khameo the word he used for the rope is Quechua ( the Cusco dialect of the language) ! and yes there are some throat/guttural almost click-like sounds in the Cusco dialect of Quechua, but they are not like the clicks that you might hear in say, Xhosa, for example.
