- A DRIVER plowed into dozens of Black Lives Matter protesters at a Friday afternoon demonstration in New York City, injuring at least seven people.

I would wait to find out why she was there and what her political leanings are before you all jump to conclusions. And to the original comment, no one tried to drag her out of her car, her doors were clearly locked and windows shut. It was the middle of the day and there were cops near by. Should they have been harassing her car like that? No. But does that justify her running over people who weren't near her car at the time? No it does not!

She has turned down a plea deal that stated she'd only get 6 hours of community service and a year suspended license to take her chances with a jury since she feels she did nothing wrong. Knowing you could face up to 7 years in prison, that takes guts. Hats off to this woman.

@Jon Taylor It could be the other way round actually, it could be that the car had been getting very close to the protesters in an attempt to overtake them. There is no evidence to assume that the pedestrians deliberately tried to get close to the car, it could quite easily be that the car driver did not use enough caution and was pushing their vehicle through the crowd and getting very close to them. I think that is equally as likely

Between 7 and 9 seconds of this video is complete justification for the drivers actions. There is an individual with grey bottoms and dark jacket banging on the front passenger window of the car, another individual wearing grey with black prrotective vest and black head covering is grabbing at the door handle to one of the rear doors and another individual wearing all black with a mask is trying to stop the car by standing right in front of it. What were these individuals intentions? Why are they harassing lone women? It seems that a certain section of society in USA think they are completely exempt from the law, consequences to their actions, culpability for causing dangerous situations and are incapable of being decent human beings.
Any driver should legally be able to do exactly the same thing to protect themselves from intimidating and potentially dangerous individuals. Clear case of self defence.

There is an individual with grey bottoms and dark jacket banging on the front passenger window of the car, another individual wearing grey with black prrotective vest and black head covering is grabbing at the door handle to one of the rear doors and another individual wearing all black with a mask is trying to stop the car by standing right in front of it. What were these individuals intentions? Why are they harassing lone women? It seems that a certain section of society in USA think they are completely exempt from the law, consequences to their actions, culpability for causing dangerous situations and are incapable of being decent human beings.
Any driver should legally be able to do exactly the same thing to protect themselves from intimidating and potentially dangerous individuals. Clear case of self defence.
