I live in Jacksonville. I'm happy for this upcoming upgrade. Sitting in that Florida heat is brutal. I've been to plenty of events at this stadium. It is not fun sitting in that heat.
You ain't lying. And with the unpredictable weather in Jax, it is rough. I have attended a game that started at 98 degrees, rained for 20 minutes, then flipped back to scorching heat for the rest of the afternoon. It was like sitting in a sauna. People and players were passing out. My concern is whether passive cooling will be enough. The second convern is the winter. People don't understand that North Florida gets pretty damn cold, like below freezing with high winds and freezing rain. It will be great to stay dry, but what about staying warm. Passive cool is a one-way solution. Overall, I am excited.
You've never been to Florida before, have you? It constantly rains at any given moment and people get heatstroke from being out there long enough Florida sun is no joke, humidity wears you out quick.
Lenny Curry was not the mayor who won the approval from the City Council. It is the current mayor, Donna Deagan. The stadium is owned by the city, and the Jaguars are the primary tenants. The stadium has reached the end of its useful life and needs major work anyway. This investment is mostly not going to be a profit center, but it will be a major quality of life assets for the people of Jax and the surrounding areas.
Once again tear down FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH!! It’s hindering any type of nightlife in the city. The main reason all nightlife attractions are looking to be around metropolitan park area
Whatever (if anything) is actually built, there is zero percent chance it will look anything like those renderings. I believe we’re about to witness one of the biggest fails in NFL stadium construction.
I was thinking the same thing. Just imagine how embarrassing it will be after the novelty wears off and the stadium is half empty. Fans don't fill up at 50k and half are opposing teams fans. They better have a plan in place better than tarping the seats.
Beautiful, and its a joint partnership between the city and Jaguars owner. But They always over state the economic benefits of sports stadium. Numbers are highly inflated.
It's misleading to say taxpayers are helping to find it when the taxes they use are bed taxes aka tourist taxes. It's very rare they fund stadiums with property, income or sales taxes and when they do it's typically voted on by the residents. Why you see teams move when a vote fails
Sadly a total waste of money!! Its in the ghetto and that brings down the stadium and downtown areas full potential.people dont like all the homeless bothering them downtown

Try texas
I like the covered roof. Really awesome.
Parking going to be horrendous
Remember when football was played outdoors lol
Doesn't matter all that much in Florida though, does it? It's not like any blizzards are coming through Jacksonville.
Who said anything about blizzards? TF
Never know it could happen
@@stormageddon248yes, it’s hot af! And rains a ton

Yeah like something tells me it’s not going to look anything like those renderings. I hope we are wrong though.
u seem like such a happy fella
71,000 in Jacksonville they're putting up tarps to cover empty seats😂😂😂😂😂

Rather have a winning football team and a grassy knoll to sit on than this.
We don't wont that, We need and want Good Players, To win the Superbowl.
Dang, should’ve been an hvac technician

All this, for one of the worst football teams, in the NFL
The league moves forward, everyone has to move forward. Event the not so good teams..
-A Browns fan-
Excited about the stadium and the overall makeover off downtown. The city is improving and population is growing. Better days ahead 💪
At least I can be in a cool stadium as I watch em consistently go 4-13 and peak at 9-8! Cup half full I guess! But you do speak facts😂
relax pal. they always said that about the Lions.. Jags are coming soon
