it's always funny to see the things the pop up in the shop and the work other people have done. For sure we all know the finish work that you guys do is far above and beyond most.
I'm so paranoid about paying hourly shop rates, when you asked, why are we looking for the old wire? I go right to, but but, it's probably cheaper just to forget about it. LOL Yeah, I have post dealership repair cost syndrome.
Running camera wire is a pain in the butt. If it has a camera already I would try it use it also. If I am using an echomaster camera I run a 4 pin extention wire. doing that saves times if the camera ever fails. you can keep the extension and replace the camera and the power source. If the extention fails you can test that as well.
