- Fergus Anckorn, who served as a gunner with the Royal Artillery in the second world war has a remarkable story to tell. He was shot, blown up, survived a massacre and cheated death on the infamous Burma Thai Railway. Lying injured in a ward in Singapore's Alexandra Hospital, he witnessed Japanese soldiers murder every other patient, but he survived by playing dead. He's just returned to Singapore where his story began.
