Blanton's Straight From The Barrel - Short and Sweet Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- Special thanks to Adam Nelson for sharing a sample of his Blanton's SFTB Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey from with us! This single barrel is from 2015 and clocks in at 130.9 proof. There are several different expressions of Blanton's, and while they are all single barrels that come from Warehouse H in Frankfort, Kentucky, the SFTB expressions are the only ones that are not cut to a certain proof with water.
Welcome to a new series here on It's Bourbon Night called Short and Sweet, where the samples (and review) are short, and it's very sweet of those who have shared their whiskey with us!

You guys should start doing reels of your reviews where you just intro the drink, taste it, explain the flavor, end with a recommendation for the drink
Blantons SFTB is amazing 🔥
I love Blantons. I've been through a ton of bourbons, but the Blanton's line up is my favorite, always has been. I've had Regular, green, gold so far. Still looking for black, and straight from the barrel. I would love to try the straight one, that would be a good sipping tea.
Will certainly be looking for it. Planning on vacation in Japan next year. Maybe there.
Glad to see you are up and feeling better Sara! Chad didn't go too off the rails in his solo career on Sunday. 🤣
Awesome review. I have never see a Blantons straight from the barrel before or a gold. But still fun to watch. By the way, I really really like your content and your similar yet different takes on the tastings. I’ve been following for a couple of years but recently been watching significantly more and catching up on your older reviews while tasting at the same time. I look forward to the new videos. Love the honest options. And looking forward to my copita glass and challenge coin. Hope you get the whiskey bottle candles back in stock soon.
Awesome, thank you so much for sticking with us! And yes, candles will be back in stock soon!
I just received a bottle I ordered from a store online and it is fantastic! I love Blantons flavor profile, this really intensifies every bit of it.
Yup, its on the shelves here in Sydney Australia its about USD $200 + a 700ml bottle
You did it again! 😉 Not for the first time, one of your episodes hurts my wallet 🤣
After extensive research, I found a bottle for 128,50€ (138$), the abv of 66,6% may have pulled the trigger.
That is the most I have ever spend for a single bottle, so that son of a barrel may better be awesome 😁 Cheers
These bottles were widely available for 60 Euros in Germany five or six years ago, but now you hardly get it at all. If your are lucky for 150+ in a shop or double that on secondary.
I checked out la Maison de Whisky cause you mentioned it years ago, and go to the website from time to time, but never found interesting bottles even close to a fair price.
But I don't want to complain, there are good alternatives. Nice video!
Just picked up one from my one and only connection. It’s 136 proof and exceptional. Better than both of my stagg (jr)
Thank you both for the review 🥃
On my way to St Martin in a few weeks. Going to there Blanton's store. Ready to load up😁😁😁
Perfect timing I’m getting one of these today
I would love to get my hands on a sample of this! On a side note, have y'all tried Jeptha Creed's bourbons? Would love to see an Uncorking review of those (they've got a 4-grain and a BiB rye-heavy bourbon). The distillery also does straight-from-the-barrel tasting tours.
Hope you can find one! We haven’t revisited Jeptha in a while but we have been to their distillery. What a beautiful place!
I have a BIB single barrel bourbon produced at a nano distillery in NC. What is the process for sending you a sample to review/try?
Awesome! Please email us at itsbourbonnight@gmail.com. Thank you!
Please consider an episode of, “If you can’t find this (Pappy, Blanton’s etc), try this…(something more available)”
We do have an episode like that for Blanton's. You can find it right here! ua-cam.com/video/YKtSgW28OPQ/v-deo.html
@@ItsBourbonNight thank you! I was at BT last month and their daily was a Weller reserve.
Straight from the barrel is soooooooo gooooooood!
Great job!
I’m turning 21 in July and was wandering what advice you guys would give on what my first drink order should be? (I’m going to Carson’s in Lexington so am wanting to know if anybody has any recommendations)
I guess it depends if you waited till 21, if you were in other countries where it was legal to drink under 21 of course is what I mean. If you've had nothing, maybe start something lower proof and and a bit milder. Don't try and look for too many flavors and nuances as you might discourage yourself into thinking it's not good. I started on the Irish end myself. Little bit sweeter, milder taste. Sorta let's you experience 80 proof without too many other things to look for. A Jameson or a Tullamore Dew. If you just wanna start at Bourbon, I would suggest the same for proof. Something 40-43%, see how that sits, and just first sip with no expectations. Maybe an Old Forester or Four Roses are pretty easy to find. But if you wanna go feet first, and spend a bit more, I would say something like a Russel's 10, a Maker's Mark 46, or the ol Buffalo Trace. Hope you have fun and stay safe no matter what you choose!
It’s a fricken unicorn in NYC, good luck ever finding one and if you do it will cost the same a a new car
If you had to pick between this or a bottle of stagg/stagg jr what do you pick?
That’s a good question! I sense a Flight Fight coming to help answer that!
@@ItsBourbonNight
Hell yes
Against EHTBP and GTS and those two!
@@brownprince6264 Was trying to think of a way to do it without an BTAC being in it, but I think we would be one short. Weller FP isn’t cask strength so that won’t work. I guess GTS would be interesting with a Stagg Jr also in the mix.
Sarah be nice to Chad lol! Cherers guys!
Compared to JDSBBP?
Good question! We’ve never done them side by side before.
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎😎😎😎
Where's Peter McKinnon when I need... him... to call you out?!?
I thought he explained himself very well.
comment for the algorithm
No respect, slap that batch! Lol!
Don’t you guys have a bottle……. 🤣🤣🤣
Of course we do! And we love it!
What’s gonna happen when Sarah gets pregnant????
Why bother doing a review on a bourbon that can now only be purchased via a waiting list and the cost went from $70 to godonlyknows. We've had a few bottles in the not so distant past, but now it's practically unobtainable and been told to expect it to now go for $300. What's up with that Blanton's?? Ugh...oh well..right?
saving money..
I don't like Blantons regular...
SFTB is NOTHING like regular Blantons. Not even close
thank god. no more 20min review and constant babbling. maybe put on a tank top, girl?
