It's amazing how Jake Kaufman made this 8-bit track sound 'royal'. It gives me the feeling of royalty, menace, heroism. How is this possible with an 8-bit music track? It's truly unbelievable this great composer managed to do that.

Jake apparently liked this theme. Not only did it serve as King Knight's theme as usual (seeing as how every stage and boss themes are mutual remixes) but it also was the apparent basis for Fighting with all of Our Might, which plays during Reize's, Baz's and the hat merchant's fights.

ok, I really dig the song and all, but I can't help this feeling that the first 12 seconds of the song intro were kind of holding it back? when it gets past that part which sounds more like a generic 8 bit intro for the sake of Sounding 8 bit, I actually get to hear a thematic music to a keep done with 8 bit sound chips, maybe that's just me, but those first 12 seconds is why I usually skipped this song.. :/
I think you are maybe over-analyzing the song's intro, and the introduction lends itself very well to the composition overall. Granted, that's just my two cents. But if you want to skip the intro part of the song very easily I recommend a website called infinite looper. You can set the playtime automatically so it always skips the intro.
Jjjj I know it's over-analyzing it, hence that was the whole point of taking the first 12 seconds and talking about them, you don't have to state the obvious like it's inherently a bad thing.. :p let me just iterate why I think it doesn't mix in well with the rest, 0:00-0:04 / 0:06-0:10 sounds a tad out of place with the regal theme of the music, it almost sounds industrial, which isn't a very good way to open up this song, that's just how I feel about it, while 0:04-0:06 / 0:10-0:12 does actually sound a lot more in theme with this level, that part I do like about the intro, it's just those 4 seconds of loop that sound off key with the rest of the theme.
Jjjj also, thanks for the site link, that's actually pretty helpful, but I think I'll try to cut it out in an sound editor next time I get the chance. For one thing, the intro is looping in different parts of this song, secondly, it needs to be stitched together in a sound editor and saved, because the site only jumps the timeline back (from 1:05 where the intro starts again, to 0:15) and because it does that, breaks the sound apart enough to make the transition very wonky.. That I don't think will happen after an editing session.
