"Bahasa Melayu" does not necessarily mean "Malaysian Language". It means "Malay Language", referring to the Malay ethnic group which you may find in Sumatra, Kalimantan (Borneo), and of course Malaysia. Btw, very good video!
Oh, itu benar? Terima kasih banyak for the information! In the language learning app that I use, when I was asked to choose the native speakers I wanted to practice conversations with, I was given the choices "Bahasa Indonesia 🇲🇨" and "Bahasa Melayu 🇲🇾", so I thought that was how it worked. 😲 Is this something that is strictly followed, and does it irk people if I say "Bahasa Melayu" when referring to the Malaysian language? Terima kasih lagi dan salam dari Philippines. 🙏🇵🇭
@@missrokzen Bahasa Melayu is a language being used in Malaysia (national language) and some other regions in Indonesia and Thailand (local dialect). The word "Melayu" is referring to ethnic group instead of nationality. Sama-sama dan terima kasih sudah mempelajari bahasa dan budaya kami 🙏 🇮🇩
Yup this is just like saying Tagalog Language when you are referring to the Filipino Language, although Filipino Language are based in Tagalog Language but there are already many words incorporated to Filipino Language which came from other languages/dialects in the Philippines. So yes Bahasa Melayu is purely Malay Language, but Bahasa Malaysia could have more influences from Arabic (due to religious influence), Chinese, Indians and other languages taken from other tribes which composed the Malaysian nation.
Wow.., ternyata banyak kata dalam bahasa 🇮🇩 & 🇵🇭 yang memiliki kemiripan dalam pengucapan & penulisan serta memiliki arti yang sama. Terimakasih kakak cantik, videonya sangat bermanfaat 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’m a quarter Indonesian from my father’s side (my grandpa was Indonesian) but I never learned Indonesia language. I hope to learn this language from pure Indonesian friends someday. Btw I’m from Philippines.
because our languages have different structure. if phil language structure were s-v-o, it would had been easier for indonesia. i think it easy for filipino to learn indonesia because we are used to svo pattern - english is svo and our 2nd language.
It's interesting how itchy in tagalog is extremely similar with how torajanese, buginese and mandarnese as ethnic group on Celebes Island, Indonesia. All of them use 'makati' rather than 'gatel' to say itchy. Same with Tagalog. i'm an Indonesia, mix Mandarnese and Lampungnese. I found it interesting because many of Indonesian ethnic language are extremly similar with a lot of ethnic language in the Philippinese. Also I understand several Indonesian ethnic languages like Javanese, Mandar, Bugis, Toraja. By the way you did a great job, good video:)
You have to hear my favourite songs from "HiVi - Pelangi" "Lyodra - Sabda Cinta" "Raisa - Mantan Terindah" . Thank you, and good luck learn bahasa indonesia ✨
Indonesian and philippines have a lot in common even though they are not aware of. Philippines has more spanish words due to spain colonized philippines for +300 yrs. during that years of occupation, most pilipino last names were converted to spanish, and most words for things were loan words from spanish.
bobo (Indonesian slang) = sleep ( that's kind of cute word you use to talk to children or your lover ) I want to be fluent speaking Bahasa Indonesia = Aku ingin lancar berbicara bahasa Indonesia
Oh wow! I just stumbled on your channel because I'm learning B.I. OFW here from Jakarta. Pwede bang ma-kopya idea mo, Miss? Na-inspire ako dito. gagawa din ako ng video na ganito. Will mention you, of course. Naka-subs na din ako.
What even timbangan is the same?! That's already a long word, I only expected that shorter words will retain in both languages since they were easier to say but to see the word timbangan really did surpriseme.

Hi there cute Pinay baby, actually Bahasa Indonesia is a dialect of Bahasa Melayu (Malay language). Another dialect of Malay is Bahasa Malaysia. So Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Brunei, and Bahasa Singapura are different dialects of the SAME language. They're just like American English, British English, and Australian English; same language (English), but different dialects. But most Indonesians are just too nationalistic so they can't accept the fact that Indonesian is a (dialect of) Malay language. NB: I'm Indonesian myself and I speak 5 languages. And I understand Bahasa Malaysia (a Malay dialect) very well.
By the way she said Pilipino Language (not Tagalog) instead. My Pilipino friends were took to me there tension between Ilocano tribe with Tagalog tribe.
I'm a Filipino-American, born and growth in Hawaii, don't know yet about all Filipino languages, English is my own language, but I can speak Bahasa Indonesia because my wife is Chinese-Indonesian
Diba tagalog ang labguage ng filipino community jan at ilokano..marami kasi akng kilala nkatira s hawaii pagdating s pilipinas tagalog sila kahit s hawaii cla pnanganak😂😂😂
I have a frustrating experience. Not knowing where to begin or hitting a plateau can feel demoralizing and make it hard to hit the books and study like you know you should…Having friends from other cultures makes me more creative. In fresh ways about space and how people create their own world and environment. It is best way to connect between creative thinking and cross-cultural relationships!
The reason why many words differ from vowels like a,e,i,o,u is bcoz in our old forms of writing,, letters e and i written in the same letter while o and u written in the same letter also.. to those who didn't know.. hi to Malay and indones,, our far relatives and cousins mabuhay kayo!!
I'm from Indonesia and currently learning tagalog. I have a filipina friend living in lipa city, batangas. She also learn bahasa now cuz she likes Indonesian love songs and got so many Indo songs in her playlist.
