I gave up several times before. Pandemic got me to commit to my length. Wouldn't have it any other way. Since I got natural gray hair at a young age, I get a lot of compliments. Current profile picture is how well it's grown in two years

I've been having long hair for around 4 years and in that time many people asked me why I'm keeping long hair and when do I plan to cut it. But those people who were important to me or had some sense for style liked my longish and supported me in growing it longer. So guys if you plan to grow long hair, put your plans in first place and opinions second.

I grew out my hair during the pandemic and was originally very happy with it. Thick and wavy and all that cool stuff. It just overtime became more work than I cared to put in. Making sure it isn’t tangled in the back, drying my hair took way longer. It just wasn’t very convenient. I shaved the sides and back off and have an undercut now and I’m much happier with it now and it’s much more comfortable.

I'm about a year and a quarter in the hair growth hype and I feel as though I can avoid the awkward phase from feeling awkward. Like a lot of people, I started with the pandemic but I am so glad I did it. Better yet the Mannered Manes app has been great as some guidance for what to do with my hair and skin

I think one reason it's not as prevalent as it was for young people growing up in the 70's as they were when they were teenagers listening to rock n roll

I've been growing my hair since lockdown first began and I'm extremely happy to see people with a similar hair style to mine, and it's nice to know that there's a community out there.
I've had a bunch of positive and negative comments about my hair and it's honestly surprising how many people have called me a "rockstar" lmao

I gave up because I was thinning on top. This was about a year ago. Grew it out for almost 18 months. Was up to my shoulder. I had thick hair growing up. I’m 34 now and I feel it’s just thinning even more

Hey, Trav. It would be great if you can make a video about what makes your hair grow slower and what doesn't (sleep, having bun or using hat all day long, nutrition, shampooing, conditioning, etc...)

I found a routine that works for my hair. I pick my hair every morning or when I wake up and before I go to sleep. I wish it Thursday, then I put in African Pride Shea Miracle every Friday and Monday. I have type 4-C hair that's coily

I retired 2 years ago and have been growing my hair since. I probably will not cut it again, as long as I live. I'm lucky my hair is very thick, even at 66. But the real reason is that I am closer every day to the time of my death. Our ancestors viewed shorn hair as a mark of dishonor...a criminal, prisoner or slave would have their hair cut. I will not go to the Ancestors with a slave's shorn head.

Thanks for this video, Trav. Great as usual.
I needed this, I am in finishing my 8th month of growing out my hair from an undercut and it has been the hardest until now (wavy hair). I almost got it cut last week, but I reminded myself that I'm halfway there and I can't give up now.

About 8 months in to growing my hair out. It’s super curly and I’ve just been trying to go with a sort of Jon snow look although it’s currently too short to match it. Still can pull it off sort of though.

I have long hair, if I have to cut it I won’t let it grow again, because the awkward phase is really bad, almost gave up, but the pandemic and having us locked in home pushed me because only my family saw my messy hair

Hey, i love your videos, but i would like to ask you a question.
You said in past videos, that wetting your hair causes hygral damage, but in my case it's a little more complicated.
I go to the gym 4 times a week, so i wash my hair (and body) there, but i only wash my hair with shampoo 2 times a week, at least for now, and all the other times i just wash my hair with water.
Also i wash my hair with water whenever i wake up to style it, so i just wet it for like 1 minute under the water, i dry it with a towel and then apply anything that i need or just comb it.
So is it a mistake to wash it everyday with water, or i can keep doing that?

I know what you mean. I have been growing mine for a year and nine months now and recently people have been bombarding me with negative comments that I don’t dare repeat. These things can really discourage you, especially when they consistently come from people who are close to you. Another point to consider is that your hair won’t look at its best every day. These two things combined can really be frustrating. On the other hand, having long hair it’s been a dream of mine for a long time, so every time I feel discouraged I come back to this channel for inspiration. Keep on growing, mate, I am sure you’ll get there sooner than you think.

@@giovanni012 you don't know bro how much you have inspired me through this comment. I'm so insecure that i commented through my different account here to feel secure but your comments made me feel so better. I always compare every thing but now on the good path and i don't have a good scalp too cause it's too scaly but who cares I'll care it and will grow and hope you'll too and thanks whenever i will grow it to the fullest extent I'll inform you with my real account. God bless you mate. And do join their mannerd men group ☺ i can't cause i don't use FB.
