Actually many things in this song have a meaning. Donkeys are known for being animals that carry heavy weights. The crust of the Earth is actually the thinnest layer of the Earth. She having the literal Earth globe on her shoulders. I saw someone comenting once that in icebergs you only see the tip of it, but it's actually so much bigger under the water. The "light wind" is actually a hurricane because she's dowplaying her own problems. The clouds part is clearly about her feeling light and relaxed if she didn't have to carry all that weight and expectations. The house falling on her because of family burdens, and the same for her carrying the village and mountains at the end.
And also, if you notice, there is a whisper in the background saying "pressure" over and over again. At the end of the clouds part it starts to say it more and more, and I think that means pressure can never truly leave her, and we saw that with the rocks coming crushing down.

I feel like with Encanto, everyone is commenting on Mirabel, and they sypathize with her, and like I get that. I was also like that, but I watched it again for the second time, and while Mirabel is focused on, some people don’t see the picture through Isabella’s eyes, or Luisa’s eyes or you know, maybe even other characters in the Madrigal family. I feel like this song, and What Else Can I Do really helps us understand what her sisters go through. Lin did a great job, and I hope there’s a sequel 😊

she's a alto with range. she goes back and forth from chest voice, to head voice with ease. she is a amazing vocalist, breath control, range, she switches styles 3 times, from deep alto, to soft, pretty , and ends with a bit of grit. Also, notice the bass line that carries through the song, nice contrast with her voice and brings the ear's focus down.
very little background music, castanets with the eye twitch, bassline, also chorus whispering , " pressure," when it comes back from the first break, notice a horn flair, maybe trumpets and French horns? but mainly just the bass, a little light piano on the side from time to time, and soft drums except for one or two snare flairs.
did you notice the doors from Monsters INC.? or the donkeys falling in one scene, then falling onto the scale in the next? The donkeys playing on the titanic deck, the waves carrying them to show like Moana, and Frozen2, Louisa singing about a light wind, and it's a freakin tornado! Also, the first door she holds up in the line is her door at casita. LOL. Of course Hercules reference, the balls from toy story, and my personal favorite, the stage she dances on the last time is a a nod to Lin Manuel and the rotating stage in Hamilton!

I love this too! Cause then they actually catch the words and go through them more thoroughly too; whereas other reactors I’ve seen, they miss parts I would of sworn they’d comment on (like Louisa questioning what she’s worth if she doesn’t have strength and helps everybody all the time) because they’re busy pausing and playing so much. Only just found these guys through Encanto reactions but subscriber for life now! 😉 thank you guys!

We do get with copyright. We just won’t get paid by the video. Some videos like Sabrina Carpenter or Camila Cabello. The copyright gets the video blocked in every country. But most of the time if we are lucky. It will just get demonetized. And I can accept that. We are just here giving content. Profit is nice. But it’s not our number one priority at the moment.
So glad you picked up on the sadness of that end bit. so many miss it. and that moment when she says "pop" there. the pain on her face. every time I feel the tears wanting to come at the family burden part.
Also, I wanna draw attention to the end when Luisa pushed the cerebus with her finger and juggled the ship on her bicep, both things she was terrified of facing in the earlier part of the song. I’m just realising that this shows how she has to make the things she faces appear to her family vra how she really deals. And how she managed to overcome her fears to protect her family.
This movie is so freaking insane. So many years later and I’m STILL only just noticing some things!!! The levels and levels of detail hidden in each scene makes it one of the best Disney films ever made

Mirabel’s real gift was that she heard her family’s individual confessions and struggles and not only was able to empathise but also realised the impact of her own actions towards their suffering. You can see it when she sees Luisa carrying the rocks in the bridge part. The look of horror in Mirabel’s eyes when she sees how much Luisa’s actually carrying.
Not only that, she faced her actions and tried to change herself as well to help them. A lot of siblings may come out and express their personal struggles to their siblings and will not ve listened to or will be ignored when they hit a nerve. Mirabel’s level of emotional sensitivity and intelligence is astounding
