I have a Q2 and a SL2-S and I love the simplicity of both cameras. I lost my passion for photography and with Fuji I found it again, but the Q2 made me curious. So now I am in the Leica world and I don't regret it at all. After reading and watching so many opinions on cameras, I was a little worried if I would miss all this functions and a "perfect" autofocus, but I have learned you don't need all of this. For me, all this makes my experience noisy. With a Leica there is just the camera, you and your subject. That's the beauty of it :) And on top of it, it's the best image quality.
I agree, 99% of all settings are mostly waste 😅 I think the Leica Q gets you as close as possible to shooting on an analog camera. And that's why I enjoy it. I've been curious about the SL house for a couple years. Been thinking about having it as my main work setup. But it is pricey to since you will need at least 2 lenses with it. Do you like it?
@@Michael_Odelberth try the evf on the SL2 or 2s and you will fall in love. With M lenses it’s amazing. But it sends you down a deep hole if you are not already in the M mount world. SL lenses are amazing but you know the price. Sigma/Panasonic L mount lenses are pretty good.
Hello Michael, I fully agree, the Leica Q is a Great camera. You gave a perfect description. After 6 years I am still happy with it. The 28mm lens is just perfect for me. I take Raw/DNG pictures so that I can develop them further in LR if necessary. Many thanks for sharing your lovely images with us all. Greatings, take care, Roger.😉
Thank you for watching Roger! 😃 Same here I edit all the DNG images in Lightroom. But I actually also found the JPEGs very good to transfer directly to your iPhone and simply edit them quickly there. Great results from little effort 👌
I’ve had my Q since it came out and it reconnected me to everything I’ve always loved about making images. I shoot almost exclusively in monochrome but am glad to have the color capability when I need it. I carry my Q with me everywhere and never want to part with it.
Yeah its a great way into the leica brand and photography. I started taking more photos when I got the Q, then started shooting film on the Leica M5 and just recently I got the Leica SL as well.
One camera I regret selling. Thought I was going to buy a Q2 for the weather sealing, but ended up with a Q2M. No regrets there, but I've been thinking of picking up a less expensive Q for color.
Yeah you usually get a better deal buying not the latest model. Since you still getting the Leica colours. Especially if you don’t care about the latest specs.
The Leica Q (Typ 116), the one he uses here, has 24 mp. The lens is 28 mm / f1.7, which I use most of the time wide open. The lens can be focused manually end with AF incl. eye focus etc. The lens also has a Macro modus and image stabilisation. The lens is a stunner. For the price of the lens only (for M cameras, which means, without AF, Image Stabilisation and Macro mode) you get the complete Q. The Q is a no-brainer for anyone who wants to take pictures, instead of thinking about how to take the picture.
@@Michael_Odelberth It's just a wee bit shorter in length than the M10 maybe 0.5"-0.75" about the same width and height and feels the same weight as the M10 with the Voigtlander 35/2 Ultron II mounted. They both share space in a Wotancraft 7L Pilot bag along with 2 other M lenses.
@@mwales2112 Yeah I haven't used any of the Digital M cameras myself. But I shoot mostly on my Leica M5 which is a bit heavy, so in terms of size I like the Leica Q more.
@@CaptainMilton Well its just a tool anyway. What matters the most is how much you shoot, that's how you will get better photos! Fuji is doing great cameras nowadays also!
I'm currently in the market in getting a nice used one...and came across this video. Thank you for putting this together.
Glad to hear! Thanks 😃 i Think buying a used one is a great choice.

Thank you! Much appreciated it. More videos coming on the channel!
Nice review. I just took it back out again after not using for few years. Quality of pictures is very nice as you said

Love the q
Its a great camera!!
Cool look at the Q, thanks mate ! (It’s the Leica that is almost (!) within reach !! )
Its a great entry camera to the Leica brand. Why not buy a used one?
Have you ever had a problem with dust on the sensor with the Q version when using it outdoors? I have read complaints about this issue.
No havent experienced that. Don’t know how dust would come in there since you can’t change lens.
Good idea! @alexstrasser1924 😃
Thanks for sharing, does it Af? & how many Megapixels?
Thanks! Yes it has autofocus. Megapixel - maybe 22? To be honest I have no idea 😄

Leica Q

Its a Shure MV7 microphone
