Great talk, Gurpreet. You are a warrior. You articulate so well a problem that too many people are not aware of. (And you give the reasons for this non-awareness. ) Your expertise in law, literature, medicine, ecofeminism is forged in the crucible of years of personal experience of pain and insult. Thanks for fighting for change.
Listening to your story again, Gurpreet, I still find it so powerful. This is a great speech, engaging, sincere, powerful. More people need to watch this and hear this.
Hearing your story, and seeing your commitment, and passion to make a difference to women suffering from endometriosis is humbling to watch. Thank you for your courage to speak up for others. For pulling through that debilitating illness and turning into a powerful, kind, considerate, and warm human being, who just wants to make a difference.
Sad to hear about the difficulties you went through and at the same time proud that you are bringing light to this subject. Keep up that warrior spirit.
Superbly done Gurpreet!!! ❤ You brought to light the misogyny within the medical profession. That is good!!! Compassion & empathy - both must be there within medical circles. Its not just about pharmaceuticals & surgeries!!! So many people need to know and understand the pain & suffering countless women face when it comes to this disease. This TED talk would certainly provide so much information & help to women out there. So brave of you to share Gurpreet!!! You touched on so many important points!!! I think courageous conversations, deeper discussions & more openness would take place when people have taken the time & effort to really listen and take in everything from this TED Talk!! 😊 Kudos to you Gurpreet!!!
I hope that the medical community will explore endometriosis’ hormonal effects that can result is estrogen dominance, low progesterone and lower levels of GABA. This may explain the higher risk of PMDD/severe PMS and very high risk of depression among patients with endometriosis. Over time, the lowered GABA can also impact neurological health as well as mood stability.
Absolutely fantastic! A tale of perseverance so eloquently executed. Would love to hear more talks conducted by you!
Stunning presentation - heartbreaking to hear your experience ❤
