@@bduddy55555 skips in general are really bad. The following is basically a complete guide to the only times you should ever skip:
Holographic, foil, free shop - first ante only
boss-reroll - the boss WILL kill me
re-rolls start at 0 - have money to burn
negative joker, tarot pack, planet pack - There is nothing I can gain from playing or shopping
double money, +15 gold - I have no economy
with occasional exceptions in challenges or as hieroglyth deck. Outside of that and maybe some super niche scenarios (like decks which can only hit big a few times) you should literally never skip

Just beat this challenge today with half joker, blueprint ramen, delayed gratification and a pair deck. No real egg synergies at all, just good luck getting the ramen early.
His adamant stance that selling a hermit or temperance card is a better play than using free money on rerolls in the shop is turning me into whatever level is beyond type A chatter.
I think he doesn't understand that rerolls actually refresh the shop thus possibly giving you good stuff to buy😭. I see no other explanation for that play. In his mind rerolls are just burning money lmao

then you're just like all the other dumb chatters. if he gets a bunch of money, he has to end up below $3 for vagabond to work. once you start rerolling, that may not be possible with what the shop offers him after like 6 rerolls. so then his vagabond would be broken, and the money wasn't useful anyways because you can't guarantee that whatever in the shop will be useful, especially when his run was already going fine

@litapd311 This is not at all hard to plan around. You save the packs in the shop for last. Easy.
@@litapd311Yeah, but you saying this makes you just like everyone else who doesn't realize that unless you've gotten the reroll voucher, then the shop rerolls always start at the same dollar amount and increase at the same rate.
So, for a guy who flexes earlier in the video about how sometimes they do the math, then maybe he (or you) could take his dollar amount and knowledge of the cost of the shop rerolls and actually, you know, DO THE MATH to see if he is able to roll the shop down to $3 or less for vagabond. Since rerolling the shop to see potentially higher value jokers is obviously the higher value play if it is possible to do both.
If you're gonna act smart, at least be smart.
Also, if we're looking for life lessons here (since NL seems like a guy who likes to distill things into general life lessons):
Sometimes people make two correlated things into mutually exclusive things when they aren't, they are just correlated.
Using this situation as an example:
His dollar amount is negatively correlated to using vagabond joker (meaning the more money he has, the less able he is to use vagabond). Using temperance, fool, and then temperance again to gain money for rerolls then is negatively correlated to using vagabond joker. The shop rerolls are correlated because they cost money and also provide (potentially) stronger items to use. So having more money is positively correlated to seeing more potentially stronger items and negatively correlated to using vagabond joker.
But this doesn't mean that using vagabond joker and rerolling the shop MUST be mutually exclusive. It just means they are correlated in some way and we need to work harder to consider the edge cases to know the most productive way to move forward.
NL has such a passive aggressive (sometimes aggressive aggressive) dialog exchange with the chat. It's hilarious.
i once got swashbuckler to over 200 mult in the omelette. i didnt even realize the synergy, i just hovered over it in the shop and pogged tf out
iirc my winning omelette run had vagabond, 2 high $ eggs, swashbuckler, campfire. Vagabond's tarots fueled the campfire and swashbuckler gave it the mult to multiply. It died on ante 12 but it was a lot of fun

The biggest problem I think is NL for some reason perceives rerolls as lost value instead of having the value of seeing a new main spread in the shop. Like yes money is the least renewable resource but he had opportunities to get money that he just passed on because he perceived it as losing value instead of potential value.
it's not that simple, his main goal was keeping vagabond working. if you start rerolling you'd have to do the math to see if you even get vagabond working again, and if you buy something during the reroll then your math isn't right anymore and vagabond might stop working again. at that point in the run vagabond becoming useless would've been a losing play
@@litapd311HIs main goal was winning the run. It wasn't gettng Vagabond working any more than it was accumulating money, both are viable potential avenues for value, and neither is an absolute that should paint you into a corner where you'd ignore the other. His own argument defeats itself.

NL arguing with chatters while being unbelievable wrong is putting me on my Type A arc. The Hermit argument was unreal. You have 2 options: You use Hermit and reroll 3 times seeing what you get OR: You do not do that and sell Hermit for 1 dollar with no upside whatsoever.
the second option was to keep the hermit until its 20 dollars would have given you something more interesting to buy than rerolls, but the game forced his hand and he just needed to ditch it
He was saving the hermit for later, for when the hermit wouldn't be wasted on rerolls (he had to spend down for vagabond). It was actually a very sensible play.
@@sirthursday6159 it would be sensible if he wasn't ripping so many tarots, where the odds he would pull something like death, the fool, or hanged man would be saved for later. so you're either losing value by wasting vagabond triggers or using good tarots suboptimally
You can use hermit which is the hermit, or you can maintain vagabond which can be anything. It could even be hermit.

try to look for the best way to break them and dig deep into shop rerolls to get the one or two specific jokers that'll get you there. Omelette loves swashbuckler. Mad world loves midas touch (especially with vampire). Typecast loves jokers that would be destroyed if they aren't eternal. Etc

The first run i had on this challenge i skipped blind 1 for a polychrome and ended up with exactly enough to sell an egg and get a poly swashbuckler. The luck was so insane i had to run it again to convince myself it wasn't seeded.

36:00 is an unfortunate tactical tumble, paying to re-roll has little chance of a rare joker showing up, you are more likely to be offered the "skip blind for rare joker in next shop" than a rare joker appearing in a shop as there's a trade off.
While this would normally not matter as a negative happened to be queued up for next joker this means you would potentially get a rare joker that is negative which is a big enhancement. Paying to re-roll with the chance that it appears on a common joker (more likely than anything else) or any other joker which is useless is the kind of mistakes which are preventing runs from actually "going endless" rather than just making it to endless mode.
It was a low chance that it was going to be rare joker next shop for the next blind skip but as there was no possibility of losing sb8 there was no reason to pick up anything in boss shop 7, and even if it hadn't have come up and was instead "skip to upgrade X hand 3 times" or something else it would still have been a mistake statistically speaking.
Ultimately though it isn't good enough to just recognise mistakes after they take place, people mistakenly see that as a positive and congratulate themselves for it then never progress to the actually beneficial part which is modulating your behaviour and not making that mistake again.

Nah egg challenge isn't as bad as a few in the middle, the ones that locks all jokers at ante 4 and every purchase increases price by $1 were pretty tricky

Vagabond vs Mail In Rebate is a tough choice.
I think I'd have preferred the econ play personally, but that's hard to justify given your entire run was also based on brute forcing Flush Five via tarots.
