    American Airlines just put together a trip with Bessie’s Niece on board, Celebrating Queen Bess’s Accomplishments! My Wife Mary and her Friend, with over 108 years of flying behind them, were honored to be a part of an all-Black FEMALE crew working every aspect of the flight. Blessed to witness this Historic Event! Nothing But Love

    I love this woman! Born on January 26th, my birthday, makes her an adventurous Aquarius! I had never heard her name before but everyone SHOULD know her name and story. I am so glad there is the flight school named after her--quite a legacy. What a brave and daring soul!

      So glad you liked this video as well. Sadly, the Bessie Coleman flight school started by William J. Powell closed due to hardships brought on by the Great Depression. Bessie still left a wonderful and lasting legacy, however.

      I think it's a great story. Millions of us had to go through struggles like that regardless of our ethnic background or gender. I find it interesting that it was her own family to try to discourage her the most and said you're not ever going to fly. I experienced the same thing , your own family trying to hold you back.
      Plenty of stories in the Bible about that happening as well

    From the cotton fields
    she saw the birds flying
    and she figured she could
    fly too
    she was no cursed child
    in books, she found her
    wings and like icarus
    she found her warmth
    in the sun
    though white men, even
    black, told her " no"
    the spirit of harriet
    tubman
    said " yes "
    and the aquarian found
    her destiny
    in patis, they welcomed
    blacks with open arms
    there, a black bird could
    fly free, and so you
    got you license
    you saw trees
    but they were only home
    to bird
    and gave birth to dreams
    you were no cursed child
    you were brave enough to
    defy gravity
    like icarus, you never feared
    fire
    only the warmth of flames
    you would step on the wings
    as you soared, only to touch god
    you never feared the
    sun
    somewhere, you are still flying
    you a a black bird
    and the skies are owned
    by no one
    you are beyond icarus, touching
    the face of destiny
    You are a black bird, not a cursed child
    e.g.k. 2'20'22

      Do you mean the landing skid and no steering wheel? That was Not Unusual and typical of most planes back then, and many today. It's called stick and rudder and personally I prefer it over the so-called steering wheel type which is actually called a yoke.
      Not sure what he meant when he said a stick instead of a steering wheel was makeshift, that's the way they were designed and it's a good design to this day

    • @7x779
      @7x779 2 місяці тому

      Where did it say that?
      It says that a loose wrench Jam the controls so that the pilot couldn't correct the aircraft and save it

      @7x779 2 місяці тому

      Am I missing something? Where did the video say that a racist put that wrench in their to make the aircraft crash with both a white pilot and a mixed race pilot?
      I don't know about you, but I have put things down and got distracted and couldn't find them again,, only to discover them much later in the weirdest of places
      Bessie herself or the other pilot could have left the tool there themselves and forgotten!
      I just read of a helicopter crash that happened because an iPad came loose fell on the floor and slid underneath a Rudder pedal
      That's a sad world view for everything that happens and every rock you turn over has a racist underneath it

  • @divineworks8074
    @divineworks8074 Рік тому

    A loose wrench my behind.

    • @7x779
      @7x779 2 місяці тому

      Yeah that sounded kind of weird didn't it? What do you think happened?
      On the other hand it's not impossible, it could have fallen into an area that blocked the control input the pilot was trying to execute
      I saw a video recreating how a helicopter crashed, and it was because an iPad had come loose, fell on the floor and slid underneath one of the rudder pedals
      The pilot needed to depress that particular Rudder pedal to correct and control the aircraft, but the iPad was blocking it which made him push even more, which firmly pushed the iPad and held it in position even more, so he wasn't able to correct the aircraft and it crashed
      So yes a loose wrench left in the cockpit can cause death
      And I can see how that could happen especially back then when even the best experts pilots and designers were still learning and gaining experience on all the different things that can fail in cause accidents

    I know I can't change this Black glorifying narrative of past and present, It will be best for the sake of humanity to just tell the legacy made by these great people to their community and the world. I strongly believe all these stories about Black individual achievement wouldn't be possible if the heroes were race minded type of individual, This fact which i strongly believe is true your channel the likes will have greater impact in the world if it will narrate commoners who made an impact to the community and the world without regarding race. Bring to the viewers table something of a Tennis game where individuals of all nations are well come to perform. Your story depicts the nature of human being by the California authority at the time. To me those white men by God willing are in paradise. We as humans should glorify their willing to put their lives and family in fetal danger at the time of augur well ruling. We now have white African who are oftentimes miss interpreted miss treated and sometimes killed. Yet they are Africans because Africa is the name of the continent nothing to do with race.

  • @AndraeBattles
    @AndraeBattles 3 місяці тому

    Almost sounds like her death was staged. Then, in an attempt to make this look like an accident you plunges into a spiral, but then loses control of the plane himself. America was not ready for people of color to do the things that she was trying to do at that time. It’s a tragedy.America is the only nation that I am aware of that kills its own.😢

    • @7x779
      @7x779 2 місяці тому

      I wouldn't jump to conclusions, watch all the many videos on here about the many many many many many many many many many plane crashes overtime and how they figured out what caused it
      It's even more likely then what you think, that somebody did accidentally leave a tool in the cockpit or somewhere else, got distracted and forgot about it. Or they could have put it in a place where they thought it would be secure and didn't realize that it could fall out get into the controls and stick
      I learned that this just happened in a helicopter accident, an iPad came loose fell on the floor and slid underneath the Rudder pedal and in the same way block the pilot from being able to correct the aircraft
      If you want to judge and blame everything on a dubious motive, you can make up all kinds of stuff.
      The possibilities are endless
