Languages student here, and I still love this scene xD The way he delivers that "oh the humanities!" is just perfect; besides, it points out something which is really sad: many majors think of their area as the only or the most important one. That is just stupid.
I know, right ? We all know the only thing that matters is STEM with the exception of geology. Humanities don’t need funding. Artists are born from struggle.

That was actually a clever play on words. Most sitcom humor is about characters getting into trouble in weird and unlikely ways and struggling to get out.
as long as you have an end goal (a specific job) and you are working towards it (such as gaining useful experience that directly apply to your future job). blindly graduating will be next to useless.
Sheldon don't detest other majors and just find comfort in people of your majors....that's hardcore biased attitude! Because in that case only medical and computer science degrees are considered with highest returns......so thumbs down for you too 👎🏻👎🏻👎
its biased because you have dumbasses plagueing your some facets of humanities fields. Let me try to explain why STEM fields are on a rise and humanities are on decline, in a nutshell. You'll seldom find a physics majors thinking earth is flat. But there are so many gender studies majors who actually think biological sex isn't a real thing and want to classify society on the basis of self defined gender that don't mean anything. Humanities is on the decline cuz, a lot of frontrunners of some of your sub fields try to bend/deny reality to reflect their moralistic views rather than their changing their views to reflect the reality. Unless that is checked, it's bound to become a field so messed up, confusing and away from reality that it would stop being of any relevance. Reality doesn't give a fuck about your morals, you can't deny truth because it doesn't serve your purpose or worldview and if you do, it makes you no different than religious knockheads who don't believe in science but a big man in the sky
Love the way Amy leans in to say ominously, “the LIBERAL ARTS.”
not the dirt people!
History student from a Liberal Arts college..this was hilarious!
Which college?
I'm a music major, I laughed so hard at this I cried.
music is still not that bad
@@ngyufeng6205 yes it is....to learn music you don't need a major

One of my favorite jokes
I'm a geology major and going for my MS. I find this also hilarious!
As a PhD student in American Studies... I would take a few of those millions of dollars.
Aged well
Millions wasted on gender studies..... This scene was a prophecy....
I know what you mean, I'm a history student. I think Sheldon hates us the most... The show is brilliant though ^^
So what are into these days
Sheldon is based confirmed!😁

I love English! It's sadly becoming a lost art.
So based
Being an English major, wouldn't you have realized your improper use of "a" before the word "English"? What would Sheldon say?! ;)
lol
ooh the huge manatees...
That was unexpectedly based of Amy to shit on gender studies majors😂
Gender studies? Do they really have it in USA?
i think so. sadly
I can confirm this. We do... yeah...
I used to think it was a joke lol. From Brazil
can confirm it's present in Italy too
