Carlos is some kind of guitar player!!! Didn't realize how much he rocked!!! I can see he is influenced by Randy Rhoades, but at the same time he plays his own style!!! Carlos you are an amazing guitarist!!! I love the way you break everything down!!! Awesome Metal sound!!!😁😁👍👍

One of the most interesting things about these types of videos is discovering that a guy I thought was just a partying rock dude, actually knows a lot of music theory.

I am 62 and a long time drummer. I come from his 80's rock era. Opened for Motorhead and Motley Crue back in the day.
Have seen so many guys that had success back in the day still at it playing in a little bar or county fair at best. I just couldn't
deal with let down, disappointment, and humiliation of playing a real "show" to now some little bar with no one listening to you play.

In 1984 Carlos Cavazo was one of the hottest guitarists in absolutely the hottest band of the moment. I'm surprised he had time to sit down and do an instructional video in '84. The fact that he MADE the time is super cool and speaks volumes as to his character.

He's Eddie Van Halen's favorite guitarists and hundreds of others that's heard him. They all agree and John Mclaughlin said it best in that they have no idea what Allan is doing, if they could figure it out, they'd steal it! They also all agree that his music is beautiful and the best comparison I've heard is: 'It's like a circus flying thru the sky"

This "SG" kind of body was designed and called Les Paul before the Les Paul we're used to. Later versions got the name SG. This Les Paul Jr is the mother of the SG.

Never seen this video before? Never bought the VHS Tapes these were sold on _ Money went in the Gas tank of my wannabe Hotrod! lol' Tho Watched him play as 'Quiet Riots' replacement for 'Randy Rhodes' in 82'ish? in Palo Alto' He was as good a player anyone else!' yet he was in the unfortunate 'Compared to Randy' nightmare, back then' 'rough space' marketing wise! There were so many Bands appearing! 'Was like tryin to count Sand grains in your hand! Tho I Cant Believe he just called what He's holding and Playing a 'Gibson SG' a (Studio Les Paul!) wtf?! That's kinda like Carrol Shelby sitting in a Mustang' and Sayin "I'm sitting in a Cobra 427! ? _This must have been a Marketing gimmick' to get awareness of the Video itself' so he could validate that He wasn't a Poser! and that He was a Solid pro Guitarist! So 'no shade thrown here!_ 'Anyway I wish Carlos great health and peace' as we're all gettin Older now'🎸🎼

Actually in the early sixties, as Carlos said 1962, they made the Les Paul Jr as a double cutaway SG design, they later went to the single cutaway and the SG design ended up being the SG and the Les Paul Junior then became it's own entity.

Cavazo knows what he’s taking about. The SG was originally called a “Les Paul,”but Les Paul, himself, who was not involved in the design, disliked the design and demanded his name removed from it. Gibson removed his name from the model after 1963 and called it the “SG.”
