Im white and hip hop, has shaped me massivly and help me unexplainable amounts of times. hip hop has nothing to do racialy, its a lifestyle and seeing that all of mankind have the same basic want i believe hip hop like krs says is a god given thing to help "people" no matter where there from. peace

It seems like every time I get into a KRS1 speech I get cut short. He was at the height of his speech then it fades away.

first of all the great thing about hip hop is it doesnt matter what you say cuz its us it represents a movement its in your face and its not moving its a culture of its own its self aware so when you say " You can not HONESTLY think or even SAY that "the black community is advanced." You just can not. These are the most insane lies straight from the Pit of Hell!" it doesnt affect us. cuz we are here we are present even if u dont like us we are here. you understand we are here. move us.

So what? Does that make him a perfect source of hip hop 😂😂😂 Absolutely not. Does that make him a good source, sure! Unless you use your brain when you listen to people, and question what they say, you will live your life a mental slave to others.

I respect KRS ONE; However, Breakin' evolved from a dance called ROCKIN' which was done to Funk music in the 1960s-1970s... It did not come from Capoeira - James Brown was the God father of Soul but really created Funk Music | indirectly James Brown did have a big connection with Breakin' & Hip Hop Culture

@zigrendon I RESPECT YOUR OPINION BUT PLEASE RETHINK EVERYTHING AFTER I TELL YOU THIS: HE IS TALKING ABOUT THE TRUE, UNDERGROUND/CLASSIC/OLD SCHOOL RAPPERS AND NOT THE ONES YOU SEE ON TV WITH A SHITLOAD OF MONEY, DRUGS, AND WOMEN.

hiphop is a urban street culture, just because it was born within the hispanic and black community- does not necessarily mean it is contained within that minority. Anyone in the world regardless of color, nationality, age or sex can be and has been a part of hiphop history

Chicken or egg? Insofar as blacks and hip-hop are interrelated (though it goes beyond this), I think you have your cause and effect reversed.

This is ridiculous. I don't accept it. Breaking, MC'ing, DJ'ing, Graffiti can all stand on their own. Knowledge cannot. There is already knowledge in each of the 4 elements. It's redundant and illogical to say there is a 5th element. Unless it can stand on it's own, then it is not an element. When you pass on knowledge of rap to hip hopper who knows less. Are you practicing hip hop? No, you're telling them about one of the elements. I can rap without breakdancing, Dj'ing, or graffiti. You can do all these things separately. And that actually respects the scientific word element because elements combine to form molecules. But you cannot talk about "knowledge" without saying it's relation to one of the 4 elements. Therefore it is simply not an element. The most beautiful thing about hip hop is community and there is a community for each of the 4 elements in every city and they all have their own related knowledge. There is a common foundation to every element. ;) and there is no common foundation to knowledge of self because everyone is different! Period!
