- In this video I discuss my own experiences with working with the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Self-Love, Warrior Goddess and Shadow Work Goddess, and how to set up an altar to Aphrodite. This video is about Aphrodite guiding me into deep shadow work, and challenging me to discover my own self love.
Working with Aphrodite is challenging and rewarding, full of love and snark, power and emotion. She challenges us to walk deeply into our own subconscious shadows, and to open our hearts and minds to more beauty and love than we thought possible. Thank you for sharing your very personal stories and altar of our Goddess Aphrodite. It’s funny to me when I hear stories of her being “snarky” or sometimes “mean”. To be careful with her. I have felt nothing but incredible kindness and love from her. Ever since I began honoring and working with her, I felt more calm. More serene. I truly sense a mother’s love from her❤️

She is definitely all of those things and more, and I find that when She does get snarky, there's always a lesson in it for me, and a reason why She does it. I tend to be very logical and formal, and when She does get snarky with me, it feels very much like a big sister rolling her eyes at me. Lol. There's mirth and love behind the snark, and I feel She does it to snap me out of being so logical and formal. The Gods are people too, with even more complexity and nuance within Them, and They respond to each of us differently, just like the people in our lives treat us differently based on the relationships we have with them. I've heard that a lot about Her, and She has gotten more so with me as my relationship has deepened with Her. I feel that the Gods connect with us where we are at, and in this case, I needed the shakeup that her snark provided. The Gods are much like any other person, though usually with great wisdom and perspective. They have Their different sides, and are different around different people. They give us what we most need at the time. 💖😊💖

I love hearing about your experiences with her :) my experience with her has always been so gentle, she feels so much like how I imagine a big sister would be. We love eating chocolate together and doing our nails and chatting about our lives together through tarot :) she always makes me feel safe and loved

We have just entered a new phase in our Journey together. I feel that She has been hard on me in the past, because I needed that to help to shake me out of my rigidity and formality. Being so rigid and formal all the time were literally preventing me from moving forward with Her, and in my own love life and the exploration of my passions, that I needed a little bit of shaking and tough love from Her. I really started working with Aphrodite last summer when my ex of 25 years broke up with me. I started working with her and she brought me a new guy in about three weeks . He is my twin flame.

I've been doing my research on her due to some things I've noticed and Ur the first that I've watched ... After quite a few lol ... I recently felt the call to work with Aphrodite but I decided to wait with it because I’m a beginner so I didn’t know how to do it and I didn’t want to be disrespectful by trying to work with her with my lack of knowledge. I also subscribe to your channel very recently because it seems interesting and I wanted to check it out lately and now your adding a video about working with Aphrodite :o. It's funny...I didn't know I was going to do this video until this morning. 😂 The Gods work in beautiful and wondrous ways! I think that as long as you trust yourself and you Intuition, and follow your heart, you don't have much to fear by reaching out to Aphrodite. I feel like She will meet you where you are at, and with love, compassion and kindness. @@darkwintermoon I’m only starting so I don’t have that much to share. I decided to learn about greek mythology because of Her. I also translate prayer to Aphrodite from Pinterest on my native language and I probably will share it somewhere. I remember when I was taking a bath and asked Her if She want to work with me and felt strong feeling of love and cheerfulness. I started to care more about my body and appearance, before I believed that it’s shallow to invest time and resources into my physical self by now it feels like act of self-love and connection to my femininity I also believe it helps me connect with Her. I feel the desire for romance despite already having two relationships that are romantic to me (I’m openly polyamorous) and start finding pleasure in my senses.

@@darkwintermoon I don’t think that I thought that it’s selfish. It was more about how I assumed that the most important thing in life is spirituality and focusing on material is a lower way of spending time when in reality I have better spiritual results when I started to balance the time that I put into spiritual and material world.
@@lunamoon4603 Yes! I agree. That is very true. Balance is important. Glad that you weren't thinking of it as selfish. I agree with you completely. Both spiritual an material are very important, and when you take care of both, then spiritual and material support each other, and allow each other to flourish!

That's very odd that she doesn't allow you to call her "my lady". I personally call her ; My darling, My lovely, and I have called her My Lady before, and she didn't seem to mind. Maybe it has to do with each individual? I'm not sure, but she allows me to be very casual with her. I have called her Mistress a few times too, but, I don't get that vibe from her. In fact.. I almost see Mistress as a formal title. I tend to get the motherly, warm, friendly loving vibes from her. Very positive, and uplifting. I often times tell her that I wish she could take me up to Olympus with her so I can just give her a long warm hug to thank her for everything. I suppose she can be a little bit "sassy", but in a joking sort of way. I guess she just isn't as hard on me ask she is others? I agree with the large majority of everything you said in this video
Lol. She's lightened up a lot on me calling Her that. I tend to be very formal, and I feel it was Her way to shake me out of that. She has shown me that being overly formal, especially with Herself, was getting in the way of my own growth and my ability to connect with Her deeply. As my relationship with Her has grown, She has helped me become much less formal, and therefore much more open to love, and deep connection.
And I feel that you have hit on something: the Gods meet us where we are. They are here to help and guide us, if we will allow them. I feel that She immediately sensed in me that my formality was a block for me to the Work She and I needed to do together, so she wasted no time in doing the thing that would most affectively start to break down that barrier for me. Any time She has called me out, I have always felt like there was a smirk behind the snark. Lol. Since then our relationship has evolved to one of openness, and love, humor, and the occasional snark.

@@darkwintermoon I'm glad she has worked with you on yourself :) The thing she had me come to terms with is that, I shouldn't focus on the thoughts of others so much, That was very hard for me at first, as I'm very shy by nature and was bullied a lot in school. The other thing she thought me is to "stop warring about pointless Sh!t". haha, I have bad anxiety at times, and sometimes worry about something very minor, to a dramatic level.. she has helped me tame that beast down a little bit.
That's a great word for the experience "intimate". That's probably how I would describe my entire relationship with Aphrodite.

You are right, she definitely does not take any bullshit. She is my mother. She’s the form of God I connect with the most. Her love is incredible and she may be a goddess of beauty, love and luxuriance, but she is also a vengeful goddess of war if she needs to be to defend the greater good. She is not holier than-thou when she is angered and she does not have patience for evil energy or demonic traits embodied by her kids. She understands our deepest pains too though, and she taught me how to empathize with those who are wounded beyond repair on a road of no return. I have seen many of her children who are lost in their lives, and it’s devastating. She values integrity of the heart above all and has little tolerance for her children engaging in nasty behavior towards others. Others have said that she has a demanding personality which I get but at the same time, I don’t feel that way because I relate so deeply to her. She is a guardian for the hearts of those who have been abused.
