- Today we're looking into the fate of the Gucci Marmont bag and asking: has Gucci cancelled the Marmont? And what does the future hold for this iconic Marmont bag? It's no secret, I've never been the hugest fan of the Marmont, however, the Marmont is the 3rd most popular handbag in the world according to Google analytics. I purchased mine during our trip to Spain, and it's probably one of the top 10 bags in my collection. But what does the future hold for the Gucci Marmont?

This year I'd love to add more pieces from Hermès like the Birkin size 40, Constance, 24/24 and Bolide. Maybe I'll be bad and get an Hermès Kelly 40! I can see it sticking around if he somehow makes it more modern, minimal, clean. Probably less quilting/padding for example. Maybe different materials like that patent maroon leather
The Marmont, sans heart, was my very first designer bag. It was love at first sight & I had zero clue it was so popular. That was just over a year ago. The art of it still works for me. UA-cam is a strange environment, IRL I think the Marmont is still killing it. Loved the additional color & history.

As a girly girl, I love the heart! I am trying to buy a Marmont Small Flap (specifically the Black leather Brushed silver Aria Diagnol cross pattern) but they've hiked up the prices. I own the Marmont camera bag and the leather is FAB. My guess is Marmont is staying, there's just too many fans! :D They keep reproducing it in new iterations to--I love the whimsical new one with the tiny GG emblem that resemble stars in the sky, but not for almost $4,000!! But it's a genius idea to reinvigorate the worth of the design!
The Marmont is such a classic- I couldn't imagine Gucci without it. And with how quickly styles and fashions come back around- the Marmont will be back on top in no time!

The black leather marmont is my very first bag! It’s been 5 yrs and I still love it so much. I will always go back to it. Such a simple and easy crossbody bag to use everyday! 😊

Great video! Never really been a Gucci fan since Tom Ford. The Disco is a cute bag I always wanted one. I had a Marmont wallet and garbage quality, the corners wore immediately, I bought into the hype of the Marmont belt. It is scratched up from minimal wear. 🤷♀️
Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that Traci! Luckily I only wear the Marmont wallet with this bag- but I'll keep an eye out for wear on the corners. The hardware on my Ophidia card holder is turning. But I bought it on a vacation, so I'll never get rid of it. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

I didn't know it was named after a hotel. I always think of the marmot animal. 🤣Someone sent me an ad for that new velvet Marmont you showed at the end, but in green. I've always loved the marmont but have never added any pieces to my collection beyond two card holders. For bags, there has always been something I've wanted more.
Haha, now I can't unsee the animal! The new velvet bags are gorgeous- I'm going to keep an eye on my outlet for them. But I completely understand other bags being a higher priority.
I have been so busy and am finally getting caught up on videos. Funny you should mention this, as Gucci just dropped two absolutely gorgeous marmonts in velvet. They have little GG's on them and I am so here for them!!! FF has a red one like yours and I am trying so hard not to grab it!!! :-)

I went the Gucci Outlet on Black Friday and there were tons of Marmont bags. I hated the heart too. I wish I would have bought the pink version of your pink bag.

Love your blue version. Lately I’ve been eyeing up this bag in black leather with black hardware, nothing on the reverse other than the chevron leather so it can be low key if worn that way. I don’t want to pay 4, 5 or 6k for every bag I buy and wearing a Gucci bag makes me feel less of a target for theft, plus they fit more into my casual lifestyle so they are great value to me. I like the new iteration of the Disco too in the Blondie GG model. Nice colours.

On Fashionphile, a week ago I spent $2,300.00 on an excellent condition Marmont Black Small Flap with Brushed Silver (Aria) and it got DAMAGED by UPS that they issued me a total refund. I was SOOOOO upset because I collect Gucci and I have been eyeing that bag for over a year. Them introducing the silver hardware is genius for us silver white gold girlies! Now i have to keep an eye out for another but that one is rarely featured on Fashionphile.
Oh no!! That's devastating. I know how hard I've worked to find some of the bags in my collection, and if I had to do it twice for one, I would be so upset. I'm sending all the luck and good handbag vibes your way!

Hey! I have 2 gucci marmonts, and whenever i wear them, i dont feel trendy. I feel they are classic. classic to that era of Gucci. love how the leather has worn, as I have had them since 2017 :)

Not sure about the Marmont bag- safe space! When I think Gucci I always immediately think classic Bamboo top handle bag for a "lifetime bag" or Dionysus- black with silver hardware, please. (Even though I fear the latter is on the way out and my feeling attracted to it is fading. When it came out I would have killed for a embroidered version.)

The heart is a big turn off, if they did a limited amount of them I’d understand but they went a bit nuts with it. I love your bag, I love the style and color. I like their ready to wear, shoes, accessories, fashion jewelry much more than their handbags. I think a camera style bag should be a staple in every fashion house, just be creative with canvas or leather. 😊

In 2018, I debated between a black soho disco or a black small marmont. At the time I thought marmont was on its way out and bought the soho disco. 😂

The only staying power marmot has is about as much coach had after they wh*red out in the early 2000s lol. Its a fun line but I can't. I saw too many basics wearing the black flap bag. I do love the colour of your bagg and the practically of it. Is marmot the stiching pattern or what I'm confused what the name refers too.
Edit: maybe the bag is too smart for me and I'm just a hater lol
Hahaha! So the name Marmont refers to any bag with the big GG on the front and quilting. They originally had chevron quilting a lot, but I prefer the diagonal quilting like mine.

You know I have an issue wth the Dionysus. I've always seen it as bad luck .... Upside down horseshoe. Very bad luck ...so maybe you've been spared. Now the Gucci marmont you are showing is the best looking I've ever seen. I'm not a fan of the Marmont. Love the history lesson.

Not a Gucci girl, only one I like is the Diana and even then I never reach for it. I think the Dionysus is really unattractive and the marmont is played out.
