Switching to Nothing Phone 2a from 4 years of using Xiaomi phones is liberating, a breath of fresh air. I cannot say Xiaomi phones are bad, but I think I'm done with Chinese brands for now.
One of the few UA-camrs who actually uses the phones for longer term than switching from one to another giving reviews every 3 days. You provide detailed reviews though very little videos but that’s what build a trust. By the way your Samsung S22 ultra review in 2024 is due.. please do it as soon as possible
I changed to the 2a from Pixel 6 Pro and the difference is night and day. CONS - The Nothing OS still does not have finesse. The keyboard sometimes won't pop up. The haptics while typing always miss touches and the haptics feel hollow and loud. Pixel still feels amazingly fluid (even the Pixel 4a) compared to Nothing OS. The camera can't even compete with Pixel 3, let alone modern ones. This is the biggest downgrade. It really struggles in low light areas, even in shade during daytime and is slow. Competitors are far better. The display feels washed out. The sharpness is there but the colours are not good at all. Far from any flagship display. PROS - Excellent battery life. Really impressive. The touch response is fantastic. Unique design. Handles day to day tasks quite well. Lots of customisation. Update frequency is good. Better UI than most out there, although needs a bit of refinement. Good outdoor visibility. The speaker is quite loud (although notification sounds are weirdly low).
@@rohithreddy75 not satisfied with the 2a. So state retention is bad. It hands randomly. Far better experience with the Pixel even though it was almost 3 years old.
I've always preferred smaller android phones with good software. I've been using the Pixel 4a. I also use an s22. I've got to say that while pixel 4a is the older device, nothing beats the slick software experience. The supremely responsive touch, the haptic feedback, and the overall polished experience makes me want to instinctively pick up the pixel 4a always - even though the s22 has more chops. I ve been thinking of replacing my pixel 4a with a new phone and nothing phone 2a (while being very bulky) seemed like a great device for the money. But after reading your comment (coming from a pixel user), I'd now have to reconsider getting the pixel only..
@@ajayaswal191 I would highly recommend you to do so. The haptics on Pixels are next level. Quality of life factors such as this are what make Pixels special. The experience with my Pixel 6 Pro is leagues ahead of my NP 2a. My 2a really struggles with the camera and app state retention. The only excellent quality it has is its battery life. I just cannot recommend it. Better to look at other alternatives at this price.
I love my nothing 2a battery life is superb... Dang the battery survives long watching movies and playing it doesn't drain fast ... I bet it can beat iPhone 16 in battery test!
Hi Mate, Great review. Btw how was your exp with the Nothing phone 2a. I was thinking of buying it purely based on Software and Camera exp and wanted to try something new.

Or maybe use a phone just as a phone😂……….i am still using my android i bought in 2018 with no issues with screen , performance, battery , build quality………coz i am not an ape who thinks phone is not different than a hammer.
Looks wise good but performance is not upto the mark ..my old moto g30 4g phone is far better than this, even with 5g also nothing phone is taking more time to open app and other functions, I have compared with moto edge 50 fusion also nothing is well behind and so many lags in nothing phone finally while buying think about performance not looks.
I read the comments and I just don't understand what people like about this phone... I bought it a week ago and I use it as my third phone, and I just bloody hate it already... It looks weird, it feels weird, the camera is rubbish, the sound is rubbish, and it's a bloody mediatek... Meaning, that thing doesn't support AR glasses or any kind of an external display and it just performs bad. There are much better options for the same money like Galaxy S20 Ultra (I know it's older and and it runs an older android version and yet it's a much better than this piece of rubbish).
And you answered your own question. The phone doesn't have problems, it's your perspective from an flagship phone user. It's targeted towards people who has midrange budget but wants a new phone. Considering the other's midrangers and this price this one is an exceptional device with few quirks that I discussed in the video
people like me like the clean and simple design of front like even bezzels , simple UI closest to stock android, well designed UI features and animations and overall good specifications in every sector- battery charging cameras display and capable enough processor……not everyone is running behind flashy features , highest performance scores or are stupid enough to expect iphone like camera in mid range phone. simple phone for simple tasks - Best choice.
Actually it is quite good for the price. I had a poco X3 pro and a Samsung a13 5g recently and nothing 2a is so much better than any of those! Also the price is around 320$ now here. Is that so high for a (soon) android 15 phone? I doubt
This phone is unrefined display colour is washed out inferior to phone's in this price bracket and the processor is slow especially processing photos this phone is nothing to get excited about here except a waste of your money
It's a pure hate considering I compared it with the iPhone 15 plus in terms screen colors. So don't say that.. probably the best screen in this price. And my first midrange smartphone it is. So I was more shocked. Processors very sufficient and insanely good battery life. But processing photos do take time everytime but doesn't miss out on taking the moment as much
I bought this a week ago, loved it, coming from my dated LG V50s, it feels great in hand, the plastic back also doesn't feel too cheap or budgety
