Same, the last three episodes really were superb. I absolutely loved the plot twist of the other side of the gate, Equivalent Exchange being BS, and of course, Dante.

The ending of 2003 was really good, but Conquerror of Shamballa fucked everything up for me, I think this version needed a darker ending, like Ed and Al dying together or something like that.
EddyRandom10 I have gripes with the ending too, but I feel like the original series ending would have sufficed, and that Conqueror of Shamballa is unnecessary. Here's what I would have wanted from the ending: I wouldn't have had Ed and Al die together, but having them on different sides of the gate, vowing to find each other again would have done perfectly well. I would've had Archer die, instead of bringing him back with that ridiculous automail, and instead of having Mustang's subplot end like it did, would have him sacrifice his life to kill Bradley and save Selim. When Riza arrives at the house, she finds Selim, and Mustang tells her in his dying breaths to save him. Then, we go back to Ed and Al in the main plot. As Dante is trying to escape, I would have had her and Gluttony destroy each other, instead of Gluttony eating her and escaping. Then, for the final scene, I would have made it take place farther into the future. Instead of Riza helping Roy recover, we'd see Selim also in the military, following in Roy's footsteps. Riza is like a guardian to him, and he reminds her of a young Mustang. Everything afterward would be exactly as it was in the anime, except without Shamballa.
+cont-dump Honestly the ending was bittersweet - just like the anime's. IMO it fit perfectly with FMA's tone.. However I think that some interactions between the characters could've been better. The movie felt a little bit rushed out to me. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Am I the only one who thinks Dante is just as good of a villain as Father? I mean they share lots of similarities but both have different relationships with Hoenheim and I think hers was really well done as well and I think she's a very credible villain and I really don't get all the hate for the 2003 series or the characters exclusive to it. I LOVE the Manga/Brotherhood but I also love this series as well.
Dante's is scary as shit. I think she's a better villain. Father has a sense of humor. And as powerful as he is, i don't really think he's "evil". Dante on the other hand, is pure evil.
No you aren't the only one. The way I see it , Dante was a tad better than Father. Her story were much more intimidating seeing as she had a more human and cruel personality. Although Father didn't have this as he wasn't human, I still think that Dante is a bit better.
***** No you're not. I thought Dante was just as great as Father. She was so complex and multifaceted. Her goals and objective so simple yet profound. The way she wanted to simply remain immortal and not die was just so...human. In the best way possible.
Eamonn K Same here. Her story is kinda shoehorned in so late that it feels pale in comparison to the gradually revealed plan Father had. I like the first series a lot, but I like the second series better. On the other hand, Ed gets to punch Hohenheim harder in the first one...

I really liked and shocked that scene that I remember with nostalgy. Good times
The first thing I thought when I just heard this soundtrack, is that law of equivalence of exchange is false, and then the scene of Dante invoking the door using a baby and sending Edward to the other side of the door. I really liked and shocked that scene that I remember with nostalgy. Good times. Excellent anime with several of the most epic, terrorifing and elegant soundtracks ever in anime.
I think they're both pretty great villains for their own reasons. Dante's so beautifully petty and sure, Father is a little...flat, but that makes sense since he willingly sacrificed his personality to make himself a "perfect" being. And honestly, they're both pretty similar in that regard--they want to be "perfect", they see themselves as superior to humanity...it fits.
@@N0rlight I did recently find a fanfic called "Another Journey" that basically blends the 2003 and Brotherhood animes into a single story. Dante replaces the Gold-Toothed Doctor in it and basically acts as Father's right-hand woman. So Father's still the "main" villain, but Dante's his partner in crime.
I think the same, fully agree with you, the FMA-2003's OST is superior by far compared with the FMA brotherhood. More elegant, harmonic and dark that combine perfect with the tension of the scenes. This is only one of the aspects that I liked the 2003 story over brotherhood. Regards brother!
When delivering pizza in bad rain I'd always play this. Now I'm about to have a nasty abscess on my arm lanced and will be playing this with headphones. Thank you for sharing.
This song still gives me the chills. FMA It has such a great sound track. I was a little disappointed in the FMA:B soudtrack. I was glad to see it, but really wanted the intensity like the the first one. I know FMA:B is more accurate but Bones did a pretty good job with the second half.
Rose: "Edward, I love you." Edward: "?" *Blushes Edward: "Rose, I don't think you understand what you just said to me. We're only friends." Me: "Ahh! Edward was self aware of those fanfictions!" (Seriously, this was was TOTALLY trying to get Ed and Rose together.)
Then again...Rose never showed any feelings for Ed until that moment and it becomes pretty clear that Dante was screwing with her head. Given Dante's intentions for Ed when she switched bodies with Rose, what if she was manipulating things so Rose would keep _thinking_ that she loved Ed before transferring her soul into her body and raping him?
@Saxon The 2nd Tbh, I don't think they ever established how old she is. I think the manga implied she was older than Ed, but they never mention by how many years (the dub of Brotherhood refers to her dead boyfriend as her "fiancee", but that might just be the translation). They definitely don't seem to establish an age in this series.
I'd like to run a D&D game where one of the villains is a theater crazed psychopath, calling fights to the death "Shows", and always speaking over dramatically as if he were in a play. This would be his theme..
can someone make a version of this where it sounds like its being played in a concert hall something like the way it was originally played in the anime
My personal opinion alone. (Hopefully to be respected by the community) I started off the FMA with the original (2003) and I personally loved it, I hadn't seen a well made anime like this since Code Geass. I mean plot was good, but the characters/voice actors is what I fell in love with. (I did watch the dubbed for this, not sure if there is a subbed so I don't judge) Mainly Major Armstrong, Fuhrer Bradly, Mustang, Alphonse, and Edward. When I first heard about Brotherhood, I thought it would be a good & freshened up version of FMA. The sad part is the first episode the voice actors for Alphonse and Armstrong had been changed. Maybe it's a bit hard to understand, but when you fall in love with a character you fall in love with their voice, and when you change that it's like a whole different character. I just couldn't make it past the first episode, and maybe it's just my weak will for not doing so. I couldn't remember if Bradly and Mustang's actors were changed or not, so I would enjoy some clarification. I do plan on going back and finishing the series some day, for my code demands that I do so. So until then wish me luck!
+Repper “The Reaper” Grim Frankly, you can just skip to the last episode of Season 1 or especially the first episode of Season 2 for Brotherhood. If the plot in Brotherhood does not grab you when it actually diverges, then I don't really know why you'd want to watch it. The different voices and art style stop being so bothersome after a while.
+Repper “The Reaper” Grim I know what you mean! But definitely give it a try again--I myself am more of fan of the original FMA, not just for the voice actors (which are AMAZINGLY talented) but also for the overall way things were presented. FMA made you really feel those characters come alive and took the time to let you get to know Ed and Al and the rest of the cast. I feel like Brotherhood was rushing through certain parts of the story because it assumes you watched FMA and you don't need a recap or something, and because of this, it made me feel less connected to the characters. That being said, though, Brotherhood is still really great! Once you're a few more episodes in, you start to really get into the plot and have more of a bond with the characters. And I promise you, Al's new voice is still very suited to him. It's different, just like the entire show is different, but his new voice mirrors the innocence that Aaron Dismuke brought to the first FMA. I miss Aaron Dismuke, especially when I think of how impeccable his voice acting was in Conquerer of Shambala, but give this new Al a chance! :) In short, go watch Brotherhood whenever you have free time! Good luck! :D
I couldn't get into it for the same reasons you listed, but a now a couple years later I'm finally half way through brotherhood and trust me it's good! it helps if you haven't watched FMA in a while so that the voices of the characters are hazy. this soundtrack will always be superior though.
@Noah B the movie is called "The Conquer of Shamballa" it is wonderful also try the brotherhood series. It's not as good but its still one of the best anime a I've ever seen
like i'm baffled so many people think brotherhood is better, 03 beats is in damn near every way. Brotherhood is closest to the manga but the changes made in 03 are great. 03 is so much darker, more mature and the tone is perfect.
I just think of the stupid robot guy and also everything about brotherhood being way better. Love 03 but the soundtrack alone does not put it above or even near Brotherhood. It's messy and being dark and intriguing isn't enough when it's ultimately unsatisfying, confusing and lacking in hope
In some plots ,Brotherhood has placed emotions and relations over writing which makes it excellent in its way whereas Fullmetal Alchemist have placed writing and logics the first and only priority which really makes it a lot different and as well greater in it's way
I would say a viennese waltz based on the tempo, so basically a faster waltz like you said. the steps for viennese and basic waltz are distinctly different though fyi (in case you want to use this as a practice song)
Poor Ed...Rose coming onto him...Dante creeping him out...dancing with creepy ass music in the background...almost seems like a worse predicament than getting his ass kicked by a god-like being that looks like him.
Imagine if you walked into a big room and the lights turn on and this music starts playing. There is a girl you have not known for long dancing in the center of the room and she asks you to dance with her and she flirts with you and standing in the background is another girl who happens to be an old lover of your father who will soon use the girl you are dancing with as a new vessel just to live longer and start flirting with you. Creepy!
I just finished watching the entire series and when I saw the end, I was thinking "alright, next season, lets go!!" But it was not to be... I wish they didnt end the season so quickly...
The climax of the original was absolutely superb. I still get goosebumps throughout the last three episodes.

There really is no hate for 2003, but I really thought Dante was cool, but she was introduced so late I really was more interested in Father.
Eamonn K Same here. Her story is kinda shoehorned in so late that it feels pale in comparison to the gradually revealed plan Father had.
I like the first series a lot, but I like the second series better. On the other hand, Ed gets to punch Hohenheim harder in the first one...
I like it, it sounds like they mixed Dante’s normal theme with the classical piece Danse Macabre.
Should we call it Dante Macabre?
@@HungarianHighFive Yes. Yes we admittedly should.
I'm in love with the 2003 soundtrack! I always feel chills crawling up my spine and tears comming out of my eyes.
I wish I knew how to waltz so I could share this dance with someone beautiful. And then steal their body.
After doing the Grand Waltz segments of this song (where the percussion really kicks in), your victim would be too tired to fight you. 🤣🤣🤣
Every time I hear this song I don't know why but I feel as if I am being hypnotized...
Anybody else think that the ballroom, where Ed and Rose danced, looked amazing?
It definitely was
They spinned the camera around a bit too much, especially when Ed finally confronted Dante, but otherwise the entire scene was amazing
It's an iconic villain lair no doubt
dante such an amazing villain in it's own female way~
Big ups to the moscow symphony orchestra for putting the soundtrack together
this song is so chilling, but it's wonderful to dance to
It's D Minor
"Equivalent Exchange is a lie" Dante
yeah that was the first thing I thought when I just heard this soundtrack, that equivalence of exchange is false, and then the scene of Dante invoking the door using a baby and sending Edward to the other side of the door.
I love both series alot, both easy top tiers. But I just gotta say the 03 show has superior music
100% Agree
Incredible song (Dancing) composed by Michiru Oshima. It's difficult to find covers to this but I would love to hear it played in dual piano
Probably because the soundtrack isn't as popular as Brotherhood. Sadly.
I prefer the original title "Dance" because obviously it's Dante's theme (which is called "Dante") so it's really funny wordplay
man i have been searching this for an hour......got it now....
Dante is a better vallian than father...LOVE DANTE!!!
dante's pretty good, and i love fma03, but i like father's backstory, with xerxes and hohenheim much more.
:D I wish there was a new fma anime where both universe collides, and Father teams up with Dante.
@@N0rlight omg finally I'm not the only one who wishes for that but I was thinking a movie or video game
FMA Soundtrack is 100 times better than brotherhood change my mind
I think the same, fully agree with you, the FMA-2003's OST is superior by far compared with the FMA brotherhood. More elegant, harmonic and dark that combine perfect with the tension of the scenes. This is only one of the aspects that I liked the 2003 story over brotherhood. Regards brother!
@@jimenezluis33 Agreed
@@aaa-bm1fv although brotherhoood is awesome. But the OST of FMA2003 in my opinion is better.
Man, all the memories this song brings back, some happy and some sad. Sigh, I wish I could erase my memory and watch FMA again :/
Fullmetal Alchemist magnífico.
When delivering pizza in bad rain I'd always play this. Now I'm about to have a nasty abscess on my arm lanced and will be playing this with headphones. Thank you for sharing.
this theme is soooooooooooo good, no one diserves to die without having listened to this,no one!!!
I'll hire you to kill that sadistic little shit, Wrath in the most painful way possible 47.
I don't blame Rose for getting caught up in the dancing with this song. Its a beautiful song to waltz to with someone you love.
Right click on the video and click on loop and then sway your head from side to side as the song continues. It is almost like you are hypnotised
I absolutely love this song. Thank you so much for uploading it. :')
This is the most unsettling anime OST I have yet to hear.
Bad tastes bro
here's an anime with striking soundtracks.
Goosebumps
i like this song!!!
and i love FMA... :)
This song still gives me the chills. FMA It has such a great sound track. I was a little disappointed in the FMA:B soudtrack. I was glad to see it, but really wanted the intensity like the the first one. I know FMA:B is more accurate but Bones did a pretty good job with the second half.
around a minute in you really hear the square enix behind this shit sajdksldkjalsd its got mad kingdom hearts vibes
Rose: "Edward, I love you."
Edward: "?" *Blushes
Edward: "Rose, I don't think you understand what you just said to me. We're only friends."
Me: "Ahh!
@@dragonageoriginsable I meant for Rose specifically
Tatsuya pfp

Me: Awww, that's cu-wait, what ?
YES! ive looked so long for this version! WOOOOT!
Rose: Edward, I've been waiting for you.
I think this is the closest to the concert hall version in the Anime. I can't tell the difference. But if you can please tell me why it is different?
My personal opinion alone. (Hopefully to be respected by the community)
I started off the FMA with the original (2003) and I personally loved it, I hadn't seen a well made anime like this since Code Geass. I mean plot was good, but the characters/voice actors is what I fell in love with. (I did watch the dubbed for this, not sure if there is a subbed so I don't judge)
Mainly Major Armstrong, Fuhrer Bradly, Mustang, Alphonse, and Edward.
+RParente_VA Don't forget Scar.
Your right totally forgot his voice actor changed and I loved the original scar actor
Even the "happy" songs are uncanny in this anime
@Noah B the movie is called "The Conquer of Shamballa" it is wonderful also try the brotherhood series. It's not as good but its still one of the best anime a I've ever seen
This song is hauntingly beautiful.
Sounds like something that would play on some satanic carousel at some points. Miss this so much.
how can u hear this and think brotherhood is anywhere near on the same level as the original 03
2003 is sooooo underrated its not even funny
like i'm baffled so many people think brotherhood is better, 03 beats is in damn near every way.
@markclinton9088 in what way is it messy (outside Archer being revived)
thnx alot for postin, took a while for me to find this on youtube XD
this sounds kinda like some castlevania random song, I love it
In some plots ,Brotherhood has placed emotions and relations over writing which makes it excellent in its way whereas Fullmetal Alchemist have placed writing and logics the first and only priority which really makes it a lot different and as well greater in it's way
Ive been looking for this on spotify all night and no luck , someone let me know if yall find it there
Love you sooo much! Thank you
The OST for this series is outstanding.
I like Brotherhood more, obviously, but I can't deny that the 2003 had some very good characteristics.
I'm the exact opposite, but hey, that's the beauty of entertainment and subjectivity.
So far, I've noticed that Dante, Kaichou, and Dancing all have a similar beat.
I would say a viennese waltz based on the tempo, so basically a faster waltz like you said. the steps for viennese and basic waltz are distinctly different though fyi (in case you want to use this as a practice song)
its not on spotify and i very sad
Esto definitivamente sonara en mi boda :v
now THATS a song I'd like to dance in a wedding xD
Omg, yes! Like a masquerade type dance!!
Anyone else noticed the similarities with Danse Macabre ?
Yeah, coool
All the variations of this theme..making all the FMA anime1 creepy/sad sitiuations all the more creepy/sad.
The best bgm ..closed eyes will saw a person (dante)
so fucking haunting, maybe the single bleakest part of fma
The best theme of Dante
the best theme of the first anime
BEST THEME EVER !
Its literally the dante theme.
There's the film which ends the first series, if you don't know!
With an even worse ending than the last episode.
Not really worth it if you ask me.
Well neither are too happy. You are right about this being the creepier of the two.
Reassuring.
plz ,anyone tell me,WHO IS COMPOSER OF THIS MUSIC?I want to meet him atleast once in my life and say thanks for such amazing music.Plz
Michiru Oshima
Poor Ed...Rose coming onto him...Dante creeping him out...dancing with creepy ass music in the background...almost seems like a worse predicament than getting his ass kicked by a god-like being that looks like him.
Yess!!! Powerfull!!!
If you listen closely, you'll notice it's actually just Dante's theme sped up.
Which song is the one when hohenheim meets sloth?
Imagine if you walked into a big room and the lights turn on and this music starts playing. There is a girl you have not known for long dancing in the center of the room and she asks you to dance with her and she flirts with you and standing in the background is another girl who happens to be an old lover of your father who will soon use the girl you are dancing with as a new vessel just to live longer and start flirting with you. Creepy!
This song is so emotional i want to do vals with rose when i hear this .
Que que isso papai.... adorei
@alexander9545 This is the name of the song on the english ost.
@DoinkTonberry LOL That's weird how they are dancing. :)
what's the actual name of this song?
I just finished watching the entire series and when I saw the end, I was thinking "alright, next season, lets go!!" But it was not to be... I wish they didnt end the season so quickly...
Chills
The Phantomhive Manor has the Dance Hall.
and just like these other posters yes yes yes ive been hunting for this song . im downloading and cutting and sending to my phone mwahahahaha
When I listen to this, I think about Shoenbrunn.
What is the version that is slower than this, but still faster than dantes theme and features only strings? Plays in the episode "theory of avarice"
Again please.
@alexander9545
It's called Butou
@entei240p wow. i'm surprised it didnt take you out of war!!
:)
2019?
