@AdamS the reason that the little girl shiki kept killing people instead of trying to be peaceful was because she had horrible experiences with humans every single time, she genuinely believed that she didnt have a choice except to kill all the humans in that village. Thats why every other shiki kept killing people too, because she kept convincing them that this was the only way. By the time they had realized this, far too many people had died to actually reason anything out between each other. This is part of the beauty of shiki, the violence was unfortunately one of the nost logical things to happen despite the fact that it could have gone very differently
@@grahamholbrook9112 No. Go watch it again. Most of them didn't need convincing. They enjoyed killing. Including that pink haired bch Megumi. Not to mention they kept the victims alive and suffering, instead of offing them quickly. Plus, they made them kill their own families after turning them. If you don't think that's sick, then you need to reevaluate your mindset. This wasn't about survival. This was plain outright murder. There's a reason they say don't play with your food.
@AdamS there is nothing as "shikify" you don't have to bitten by a vampire to turn into a shiki, anyone buried can rise, they don't control their population
" There are certain unstated rules for living in a village; Rules that go back far too many generations to count. Outsiders are welcome as long as they adapt to village ways. We're a community here; We work together, we protect each other. In a village the young don't die before the old. These simple rules keep places like Sotoba alive through the years! But you and your family have torn that apart. I'm going to send you back to the hell you came from! YOU'LL NEVER RISE AGAIN, SHIKI!!!!"
You listen to this and immediately agree because it makes so much sense. The shiki are weak and outnumbered and can only exist hidden among us and destroying our societies from within whereupon they spread quite literally like a disease that tragically tears apart families, etc, this is why even the most theoretical humanist types (or the types most likely to acknowledge the shiki's humanity) would still agree with what he says, and in essence simply can't help but agree with the humans to which they belong. These are essentially our values or how we see ourselves. We live in the day, this is our world, we make the rules, you're effectively a poison living at our breast, and that's simply it. And yet this happens right after a giant strong man brutalizes a little girl, and then we're taken right back to that image afterwards when he stops speaking. It's crazy how the story just repeatedly does this to you, and so well. Yes, the humans are right in their reasoning, the author split the problem in the right spot, created the right division in the problem, if she acted like 'who is to say who the real monsters are??' we'd immediately dismiss it as false, because we can't really believe that. But instead, the very same question of who the monsters are is able to ring all the more true *by* acknowledging that you can be entirely justified, and yet the horror simply persists, unchanged. It's so fucking smart and serves as the heart of why it works so well, this is what stories are for, to just arrest your thinking or your heart (and this does both) with a compelling image that simply refuses to ever completely resolve itself.

More vamps = more humans dead and also less food for them. If they really were only killing humans out of helplessness, their attitude would have been REALLY different lmao. I feel like this is one of the points of Shiki- An isolated village with only a few thousand people. The same thing happened to Megumi where almost no one cared for her, they mocked her for how she looked and what she thought. Her sorrow and sadness grew to hate and anger. It's a good argument to justify whether what the humans and Shiki did to each other. A world where killing and rising are out the boundaries of God Almighty. I see why the humans killed the Shiki- for survival. But when they dealt with this task the devil slipped into their minds killing with hate, some against family members. The anime message is similar to Tokyo Ghoul....but I liked this anime better.....Both were unique in their own way and yet the question that it asks remains the same.
Dude, they got endangered due to how they invaded the whole town, though. Toshio and Natsuno could not find and reason with Sunako Kirishiki as Sunako only accepted to co-exist with Seishin but wanted to enslave Natsuno along with Ebuchi and Chizuru just for him to do their bidding and Tohru was not gonna be allowed to become the master-sire of Natsuno since Sunako is unfair... Toshio on the other hand could have given Kyouko a gun, a flamethrower and a bunch of stakes but I would lean on Natsuno's side more if we have to really take sides despite not hating any character as Natsuno did it to refuse become a slave in 20th century, lol.
it seems absurd but Shiki is a good Mafia story. Vampires are mafia: they have political strategy and live in illegality, replacing ordinary citizens with other mafiosi, to the point of conquering entire cities. -an italian guy 🇮🇹
SG15 Music I disagree, it should be kept as is. The anime is perfect and is definitely re-watchable. Making a second season would kill it, it won't add anything to it and wouldn't be the same.
CamCam III watch the ending of the anime and ask yourself..what happend to sunako where did she go.. What about sheinshein and also tsumi didnt die from the explosion because he said so In the near ending episodes so does natsuno. Seriously watch the episode. they should create a story that sets instead of a low civilized town but a big city. I mean take it from attack on titan they made 3 seasons that tooks months to make but they were good i mean really good and they still get credited till this day. I belive season 2 should have a sequel because of sunako survival of the hunt from the towns man there has gotta be a way to explain where she went and how this REALLY ENDS. It would be great if they started agreeing with my opinions and facts
C'est difficile à admettre mais le fait d'écouter la musique, peut te faire entrer dans l'animé et même sans l'avoir vu, tu comprends le chagrin de tous 😢

Se me enchina la piel
so many plot holes in the show but damn it was a fine one
This is one of the weirdest animes I've ever seen, really unique, gave me all kinds of mixed feelings.

it seems absurd but Shiki is a good Mafia story.
Vampires are mafia: they have political strategy and live in illegality, replacing ordinary citizens with other mafiosi, to the point of conquering entire cities.

who agrees they should make a season 2
SG15 Music How? And who would it center around?
Thel Vadüm sunako herself
Attack on titan has 3 seasons right?

A very good anime definitely equal level with Naruto classic and shippuden !
C'est beau 🤐
😌
C'est difficile à admettre mais le fait d'écouter la musique, peut te faire entrer dans l'animé et même sans l'avoir vu, tu comprends le chagrin de tous 😢
Shhjrdcbtsachykjes I don't know much about this anime, but it sounds very thoughtful judging by the comments and I love the OST! I've been listening to it for a few months now... Any idea where I can watch it? I'd love to check it out!
Here you go: www.kiss-anime.ws/Anime-shiki-episode-1
For me personally I almost dropped the show around episode 14-16. The middle episodes feel slow, and certain characters are very annoying, but the ending of this masterpiece is one of the most memorable, emotional, and thought provoking things I've ever seen in anime or anywhere else. I hope you enjoy it!
@@RawMeat3000 Aaaaaaaaaa thanks! I'll definitely pop around here again when I finish it! This means a lot, I can't wait!

Hello
I didn't know best girl of Hinamizawa liked Shiki...
Yes, Sotoba village is very similar to hinamizawa, so Rena likes this village because it reminds her of hinamizawa.
Also, Rena wants to take Sunako home because she thinks she's so CUTE, Hauu : D
