- Unboxing a new Alpacka Gnarwhal and building it. Overall I'm impressed with the new features when compared to my older models.

Jason, a great fun video. Thank you. I just got my Gnarwhal today and all I did was, I watched your video. After that in only 20 minutes my raft was all ready. I love the Alpacka quality. Have fun. Merry Christmas.
Lubos Pavel, 20 minutes? Wow, I think I spent a couple hours. Boat is a blast. Your gonna have a blast. Thanks for watching!
@@Jason-Eson I enjoy watching your trips. A great place to live. Happy New Year and happy outing 2019.
Well done im looking to get a gnarwhale for backpacking with the mountain bike
Not sure that I'd recommend the gnarwhale for bike packing. The boat is a bit heavier with whitewater features. I'd maybe look more at the classic.
Great to watch a non bias video on the features. Thanks mate.
Thanks Brett. It's a pretty fun boat especially when compared to the older versions.
First video I’ve seen of yours and totally subbed you man. Cheers from Alaska.
Subscribed. Beautiful as always
Thanks Dino, You're a peach.
Nice
Hi Jason - Would you recommend the Alpaca raft over the Kokopelli raft? I'm looking at the lake models for fishing, not whitewater.
Greg, I really only know about these boats from a whitewater perspective. If you are just cruising flat water I think you could save some money and go Kokopelli. A couple people around here paddle their self bailer boat and it seems pretty okay.
@@Jason-Eson Thanks for the advise, Jason.
Do you guys ever use a hand pump instead of the bag?
High volume low pressure for these boats. Use a pump for my robfinn boats that need a higher pressure.
Hey! What made you get the Gnarwhal over the Wolverine? I’m having a tough time deciding
I got it before the wolverine came out so it was an easy choice. Get the wolverine if your already a decent paddler and your under 5 ft 6. Otherwise go gnarwhal or classic.
Which paddle do you advice and do you think it would be good for sea water because I want thé self-bailer option and the bow bag ? Who could do the more, Could do the less isn't it ? Thanks
Paddles are a whole other can of worms. You can't go wrong with Werner paddles, but they are pricy. If you are new to the sport and plan on doing white water a cheaper paddle maybe good to start with (you will likely loose it during a swim). AquaBound Splat is a good cheap paddle. If you are looking for a good all-round white water and sea paddle (and willing to spend some money) I'd recommend a Werner Corryvrecken. Honestly it will likely take you a season or two of paddling before you notice the difference between an expensive and an inexpensive paddle.
@@Jason-Eson Thanks so much for your advices !!
Hopefully they sell some fake ones on aliexpress soon 😆 i can't pay that much
how much punishment can these boats take? How easy are they to puncture?
way too fast for some of the installations, please slow down for us newbes.
Thanks for the feed back. You can always pause and rewind if I go to fast!
