+Pop Culture Primer (Pop Culture Primer) Finally someone else that understood the reference, you are litterally the first person I've seen get the reference!
PrettyKinkyMate Admittedly, I know the reference because via the Cinema Snob. He did reviews for the Silent Night, Deadly Night movies, and they were hilarious.
Oh boy, it sure was nice of the game to include audio clips from a movie it probably doesn't have the licensing rights to! I bet that won't come back to bite them or anything!
+Irondrone4 I'm no expert, but I highly doubt that a film from 1987 has already fallen into public domain. To make things worse, this isn't even the first game to pull something like this and get on Steam regardless. There was one terrible mobile port that used audio from the movie 300.
+BlueChameleon01 Not to mention the fact that it's so early in development yet is already being sold off and garnering a lot of popularity, basically meaning that the developer won't even need to, and probably wont, finish the game.
+BlueChameleon01 It's a shame too, I thought this game had real potential when Lowtax and Schmorky played it....18 months ago. It doesn't seem to have evolved much since.
4:46 is just brilliant. The undertones of confusion in your voice is just gold. It really does seem underwhelming for the positive attention it's receiving. Just because it's pretty.
Oh god, I remember voting for this on Steam Greenlight. I hadn't been properly enlightened by Jim yet, and I thought the aestetic/music/trailer looked nice. Oh god, I am so sorry
You know... if you don't have a compelling story element that makes being able to play multiple times MATTER, then your big selling point is literally just "You can respawn! That's cool, innit?"
Blodus I think even just the people making UA-cam videos of the game will have already paid for that part of the costs, and ones like Jim with a Steam Press account won't be able to return their copies (too many returns and they'll get flagged for fraud). I guess there is such a thing as "too cheap to fail" :(
The song reminds of being young, happy and watching cartoons in the early eighties.. came back to this video years later just to listen to it again..stuck in my head for the longest time...
This game doesn't look very good, but it's kinda fucked up that people in these comments are accusing the dev of using pre-made assets despite no evidence. Or even worse, accusing him of using pre-made Unity assets despite the game running on Unreal Engine. What the hell is wrong with you people?
+QWERTYCommander I noticed the same thing. I think this is a bad sign. If everyone is just going to accuse every gamedev of flipping assets you're going to see a lot of gamedevs just give up on making original assets. What's the point?
+QWERTYCommander At this point everyone accuses games of this calibre of stealing assets. The game looks like it was made in Unity-it takes a special person to make Unreal Engine game look like something Unity spat out.
+QWERTYCommander Developer of the game here, thank you for this. Reading the comments under this video was a mistake. The only asset that wasnt made by me was the main character model, which was made by PigArt, and he is properly credited.
I want to make a game that's a true Groundhog Day loop. Have every day complete in exactly the same way like Majora's Mask unless the player interferes.
+LucidTeFlon180 nothing wrong with a simplistic art style, it just means they can focus more resources into gameplay (which doesn't seem to be the case atm, but we shall see)
I love how whenever you have no weapon equipped, your character just looks like they are doing an awkward Nazi salute a propos of nothing. It's those little touches that make it a real Early Access game.
I heard the premise of the game and got excited. Groundhog's day the game seems really exciting to me. Finding subtle ways that you can alter your actions to cause the entire town to change. Sounds really great. Then I saw wonky physics simulator and am sad now.
+Jobe Richardson Just when I thought this game had nothing to offer! I'm off to find these tracks. I'm sure I can find some enlightening uses for some quality stereotypical elevator music.
I agree that this is really light on the content, but at least they have a clear and likely easily implemented vision of what the final product will be.
The game has the potential to be pretty good if the developer follows through on their plans. Right now though it seems to be a bit early in development to be charging as much as they are.
Kind of figured around the time he got to the bar that it was meant to feel like Springfield, and then, the "Don't Forget, you're here forever" plaque showed up...
Around 8:45, is it me or is that layout really similar to the city in Goat Simulator? That tunnel going into the mountain at the end of the road, that gas station (with nothing in it for some reason) on that side of the road and the nuke factory maybe in place of another building?
I have played both however they are just tiny games in a shit show of crap on early access So i stand by my statement early access is just a big pile of nothing with small minorities but they are few and far between
What an on-point metaphor for life. Forced to wander empty streets looking at faceless people, we eventually resort to violence in the vain hope it will make us feel alive again.
I have made that exact player model following a tutorial by a channel called PigArt on youtube.. There is also something strangely familiar about the rest of the assets too.
+Nel_Annette Yeah, as soon as I saw the title I was like, "please no, please let the title be a coincidence." Of course this is Steam, so that was far too optimistic of me.
Gotta say this definetly released to early into Early Acces. If they had polished it a bit more and added a bit more to do for the Sandbox it might be worth playing but atm there is really nothing to do. At least there is a good idea burried in here but again not worth the money. Gotta say i find it amazing that a game like Yandere Simulator has more features and ideas into it and is *free* btw while this is a barren empty sandbox world with a few weapons you can fuck around with and it's *15 FUCKING €* (or your regional equivalent) i mean wow.
I like this game to an extent but right now its not worth it. I wish Steam's reviews system had some stuff put in specifically for Early Access or maybe just overall a neutral option, so "Shows promise" doesn't have to be put in as a positive review.
It's a "Space Mutiny" situation, where like that movie using stock footage from Battlestar Galactica, this game uses dialogue from a movie that's just obscure enough that the majority of people won't notice.
I was hoping this would be a "simulator" where you have to not get shot by a crazy guy named Ricky as you take the trash cans to the curb. Or better yet, you get to be Ricky and survive as long as possible. We need more of these memes, and less Sterling bait.
Just thought everyone would like to know that the donut shop is called "D's Nuts" (because memes), and the town is called "Pin Tweaks" (because references, and to go along with the stolen audio clip and Simpsons thing).
This reminds me; I wonder how many people actually saw Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 in its entirety and not just THE clip? And all of this really makes me wish someone turned The Karate Girl meme-clip - you know which one - into a game. I'd buy that for dollar.
I remember actually seeing a greenlight trailer for this a year ago. It was greenlit with a day if I remember correctly. I'm actually very interested to see what this becomes. You can tell their committed to the project and the assets look original. My main issue however is how stiff the arm is, it looks so out of place.
Isn't this just how you finish playing GTA? You play story missions, complete some extra shit, save, then go on killing spree until the police kill you.
I love how when he looks down it's like he has creepy little head arms holding the gun. Also did Digital Homicide start just buying asset packs and flipping them unchanged? If so, it's an improvement.
Woke up, grabbed my uzi, gave my pet grenade a pat, house blew up, stole the neighbors car, accidentally hit a policeman, went to the nothing-but-milk store and played with the milk, bought $25 worth of donuts, visited the invisible gun shop, climbed a fire escape, parkoured off the building, went to the bar and borrowed some money and then went on a shooting spree. Today was a good garbage day.
Kind of reminds me of a kind of sleeping disorder called false awakenings, I have those. I got stuck in a loop until 3 or 4 in the afternoon once, just kept "waking up" and starting my day over and over again :/
I've been waiting for this game for months. If this is what they have to show for over a year of development, I think i'll just wait until someone competent makes a game based on the Groundhog Day formula.
I remember seeing a trailer for this game around a year ago. It looked interesting, but it seems what they showed in that trailer is literally everything the game has. Hopefully they actually add some content to it.
the house exploded.. see what happens when you try and take out trash jim? you hurt your back and now the house randomly blows up... i don't think you were meant to take out the trash
Jim wake up! You aren't playing a game! You are actually out in public, murdering people with a katana! Greenlight has finally broken him. He's gone mad!
I think the game would be better if it took more inspiration from scenes in the movie. Like weapons shouldn't be so easy to find on your first run, but once you memorize the world you will learn the patterns of everything.
The moment I saw the title I knew this was going to reference Silent Night, Deadly Night 2.
+Pop Culture Primer (Pop Culture Primer) And it flew right over his head. Get up to date on your internet memes, Jim Sterling!
+Pop Culture Primer (Pop Culture Primer) also
+Pop Culture Primer (Pop Culture Primer) In other words, this is technically memes.
The weirdest part is that an earlier version of this game had more stuff in it. And it was free.
Just like the beta of a game called "Loadout" more reliable servers less crashing and an active user base when game went free it went to shit
I love your profile pic. MML!
+govin pillai I think he knows that
Has it been pulled yet?
Free world, free web.
*Knocks a guy over*
"Police will kill on sight"
Yep....sounds like America
He killed the guy with a sword.
+cyanmanta second time
+cyanmanta They're talking about 3:30 I believe
+cyanmanta means nothing.
***** They're just making fun of the USA, they don't really mean it, and you can't deny that it has some truth to it.
GARBAGE DAY!
Incidentally, it is garbage day in my area.
+Revanaught Thanks for that insight!
It's Recycling Day in my neighborhood today, but I did make sure to wear my blue sweater and shoot my neighbor in celebration yesterday.
Yeah. Tuesdays and Fridays are garbage. Wednesdays are recycling.
+Revanaught I see you every-where, you have a good taste in youtube.
+Revanaught Plus, Star Wars.
The related videos I'm seeing make the intention of the game pretty clear.
+BlueChameleon01 Now i have a bunch of UA-camrs that i could care less about on my feed and i didn't even click on there videos. Well f*ck me then.
+BlueChameleon01 and the contrived, stupid faces they pull in their thumbnails in lieu of having any amusing content or personality.
Fuckin hell
+BlueChameleon01 Not to mention the fact that it's so early in development yet is already being sold off and garnering a lot of popularity, basically meaning that the developer won't even need to, and probably wont, finish the game.
+BlueChameleon01 It's a shame too, I thought this game had real potential when Lowtax and Schmorky played it....18 months ago. It doesn't seem to have evolved much since.

That song is stuck in my head.. now when i pick up milk from the fridge i keep hearing it!
Thanks alot Jimmy!
Oh god, I remember voting for this on Steam Greenlight. I hadn't been properly enlightened by Jim yet, and I thought the aestetic/music/trailer looked nice.
Oh god, I am so sorry
+metalmickeyinc We dont know if this sin can be cleaned. YOU let THIS happen! You monster!
You know... if you don't have a compelling story element that makes being able to play multiple times MATTER, then your big selling point is literally just "You can respawn! That's cool, innit?"
Thanks for reminding me Hoobastank is a thing for the first time in a decade.
*proceeds to do everything other than look up their music*
A Witty Username One of em quit and became an EDM artist. There's ya update
That music was really catchy. I think this game actually looks like it has potential.
Might be worth a buy.
The return on these games must be more lucrative than I thought -
devs probably already bought the green light license
Blodus I think even just the people making UA-cam videos of the game will have already paid for that part of the costs, and ones like Jim with a Steam Press account won't be able to return their copies (too many returns and they'll get flagged for fraud). I guess there is such a thing as "too cheap to fail" :(
+Fors Clavigera assuming they actually bought the assets instead of getting them from torrents
+Fors Clavigera You realize a steam press account means all games are free right?
***** If your game is 30 cents and has trading cards, it will sell thousands of copies. I can promise you that.
Silent Night deadly night 2 reference good. That's fun
+David Myers That's the first thing I thought of also.
+David Myers Same here, now I feel like watching old Phelous reviews now.

+QWERTYCommander they're just trying hard to be like jim sterling, lol, i like visual style but damn, it's not a game yet : /
It is an asset flup, geometric forest was even featured in a previous jimquisition. How about YOU think before speaking, first?
+QWERTYCommander Developer of the game here, thank you for this. Reading the comments under this video was a mistake. The only asset that wasnt made by me was the main character model, which was made by PigArt, and he is properly credited.
''Story (soon)''
YEAH MAN WHO NEEDS STORY JUST ADD IT LATER #YOLO
+Duarte Martinho its early acess, you dont even need to put a .exe in.
+MrLego3160 i don't think word "access" means what you think it means
Rad Squid
it was a joke about that locked in syndrome game forgettting to put the .exe in
SFV in a nutshell
#YALA
I want to make a game that's a true Groundhog Day loop. Have every day complete in exactly the same way like Majora's Mask unless the player interferes.
That's already how most games work
I really love this game's art style.
The easy way out.
+LucidTeFlon180 nothing wrong with a simplistic art style, it just means they can focus more resources into gameplay (which doesn't seem to be the case atm, but we shall see)
+Dewott Splash I wouldn't hold my breath for more "improvements."
This could be a fun little game when they eventually get around to putting a game in it.
This is...this is sadness....
+SquirrelSword sadness?
THIS IS SPARTA! :(
+LordMuffinToken No, this is memes.
kinda sad, this game had a good aesthetic
Ehh, you never know, they could suddenly finish it and it's amazing or at least good.
The hell is that music? It sounds like the lost track of one of those stop-motion animated kids tv shows. Postman Pat or Pingu.
+Jobe Richardson Just when I thought this game had nothing to offer! I'm off to find these tracks. I'm sure I can find some enlightening uses for some quality stereotypical elevator music.
Most (if not all) of those tracks are available on the Music De Wolfe record "Sunny Jim"
MrJans3n I think adding Jim Sterling in Shakhtar Donetsk. I think it was 85 years old football/soccer player.
I agree that this is really light on the content, but at least they have a clear and likely easily implemented vision of what the final product will be.
love that K-mart shopping music. reminds me of bright lights and bargain bins.
The game has the potential to be pretty good if the developer follows through on their plans. Right now though it seems to be a bit early in development to be charging as much as they are.
So they made a game about the Silent Night Deadly Night 2 guy. wow just wow
The music sounds like the perfect music to complement the depression that would come with being stuck in the same day for eternity.
Well, this is a whole lot of nothing.
You successfully described early access in 1 sentence

+SheepishGames ok, play subnautica and space engineers, then come back to me and say that again
I have played both however they are just tiny games in a shit show of crap on early access So i stand by my statement early access is just a big pile of nothing with small minorities but they are few and far between
SheepishGames alright, i just like to add Factorio, ARK, Culling there as-well
What an on-point metaphor for life. Forced to wander empty streets looking at faceless people, we eventually resort to violence in the vain hope it will make us feel alive again.
I remember Lowtax playing this a year or so ago back when it was free and its about the same amount of early access as it was then. Good progress
I have made that exact player model following a tutorial by a channel called PigArt on youtube..
There is also something strangely familiar about the rest of the assets too.
This is on Steam? I remember Lowtax playing this game years ago.
+Nel_Annette RIP in peace best let's play channel of all time
+Nel_Annette yeah i was about to say, lowtax and shmorky played this 2 years ago, i was surprised to see this got on steam now. and to jim sterling.
+chewey All the shitty games Jim plays kind of reminds me of Gaming Garbage. It's definetly not the same though...
sexhaie Though, even though the game has barely anything to do, it looks like the creator did add a bunch of things to it since then.
+Nel_Annette Yeah, as soon as I saw the title I was like, "please no, please let the title be a coincidence." Of course this is Steam, so that was far too optimistic of me.
"This game puts the "early" in early access" -- Jim Sterling
Now that should be a tagline on the box art.
The art style is too good for this to not be an asset flip
Ah... UA-camr bait... that kind of game that is bad because of its very existence.
Squandering talent and banking off of youtubers to do wacky and random let's plays.
Gotta say this definetly released to early into Early Acces. If they had polished it a bit more and added a bit more to do for the Sandbox it might be worth playing but atm there is really nothing to do. At least there is a good idea burried in here but again not worth the money.

That timer pisses me off more than it should
Oh WOW I remember seeing this a year or two ago (on RockLeeSmile's channel, I think). It's vasty improved since then.
Buying milk has never been so difficult.
I like this game to an extent but right now its not worth it.
I wish Steam's reviews system had some stuff put in specifically for Early Access or maybe just overall a neutral option, so "Shows promise" doesn't have to be put in as a positive review.
I honestly like the music. Could be from some 80s kiddy tv show or something in that vain. Awesome.
It's a "Space Mutiny" situation, where like that movie using stock footage from Battlestar Galactica, this game uses dialogue from a movie that's just obscure enough that the majority of people won't notice.
Good to see the developer's been working hard since Lowtax & Shmorky played an even rougher version in mid-2014.
A pacifist run you say? Well, you've now put me *under* a lot of stress to *tale* that joke.
I was hoping this would be a "simulator" where you have to not get shot by a crazy guy named Ricky as you take the trash cans to the curb. Or better yet, you get to be Ricky and survive as long as possible. We need more of these memes, and less Sterling bait.

"Garbage Day". How I feel whenever I browse greenlight.
Looks like the last time the developer made any new statements was in February. Damned shame, I hope this doesn't become abandonware.
The funny thing is that the last time I saw this game, the map was nothing but a street with some block buildings, and the same music.
Open Carry Simulator 2016
I remember actually seeing a greenlight trailer for this a year ago. It was greenlit with a day if I remember correctly. I'm actually very interested to see what this becomes. You can tell their committed to the project and the assets look original.
My main issue however is how stiff the arm is, it looks so out of place.
This may trump The Slaughtering Grounds for the "Best Soundtrack"
I remember Lowtax playing this game a few years ago on his Gaming Garbage channel. Dear god, why are they still working on it it?
Isn't this just how you finish playing GTA? You play story missions, complete some extra shit, save, then go on killing spree until the police kill you.
Thats the cutest UZI ive seen so far
"GARBAGE DAY!"
"Let it gooo"
"I know..."
I was expecting Jim to go 'Is this memes?' but I guess the garbage day meme is so old now that not even the lord of memes gets it anymore.
Hoobastank convention attendees might be the best one yet.
when you throw aroud physic objects there's the amnesia hand
It's like any other game ever made. You do stuff until you die, then you restart.
Kind of reminds me of a kind of sleeping disorder called false awakenings, I have those. I got stuck in a loop until 3 or 4 in the afternoon once, just kept "waking up" and starting my day over and over again :/
The Terry and June music makes the murder and robbery gameplay seem absurd.
I've been waiting for this game for months. If this is what they have to show for over a year of development, I think i'll just wait until someone competent makes a game based on the Groundhog Day formula.
Garbage Day: Combining Groundhog Day with Silent Night, Deadly Night 2
Just when I think he'll run out of greetings...
I'm guessing the tiny SMG was made specifically for people with tiny hands.
Well on the plus side, this is the best version of Unit Z we've seen.
I remember seeing a trailer for this game around a year ago. It looked interesting, but it seems what they showed in that trailer is literally everything the game has.
Hopefully they actually add some content to it.
the house exploded.. see what happens when you try and take out trash jim? you hurt your back and now the house randomly blows up... i don't think you were meant to take out the trash
well obviously day 3 starts with you trying to figure out how to stop the house from exploding?
jim, that was the most shootable padlock i've yet seen.
definitely not the most fuckable, though.
Oh come on Jim you didn't even try to shoot that lock
"Hoobastank Convention Attendees?" You've gone too far, sir.
I happen to be a fan of the Cinema Snob so I got the "Garbage Day!" reference. I did it mom! I'm finally a special snowflake!
Jim wake up! You aren't playing a game! You are actually out in public, murdering people with a katana! Greenlight has finally broken him. He's gone mad!
"The next programme for BBC Schools And Colleges follows in slightly over two minutes." *twee music*
I think the game would be better if it took more inspiration from scenes in the movie. Like weapons shouldn't be so easy to find on your first run, but once you memorize the world you will learn the patterns of everything.
+ISVA Main A two year old demo at that.
Who needs content when you have (somewhat of) an open world?
Look up Lowtax and Shmorky play an early version of this here game.
I mean, it's got nice music. That's about it, hopefully they add something in the full game
"We'll go with a pacifist run this time" (picks up an Uzi then runs someone over with the neighbours car)
I kinda like the art style and it looks pretty polished, for a steam game at least.
Heard Jim say "nuke inc." thought he said "new kink"
Didn't think he had any space left for kinks..
I once used the intro song as a boom bap sample, weird as hell to see it here!
This just reminded me to put my bin out...
asset flip glaore... i remember Jim showcasing this asset awhile back...
I think part of the "Joke" of this came is the contrast between the visuals and action. Its not much a joke, but its a joke.
The thing you didn't understand that was on the VCR... Well, Jim... it was memes.
IIIIIIS THERE SOMETHING MOOORE, THAN WHAT IVE BEEN HAAANDED
plays, dies, plays, realising no gameplay, dies, crashes, laters folks ^^
why? cos I'm f*cking Jim sterling son!
+NickThe Ninja Ew, pretty sure he's straight smh
+Sychopath52 I hope that's a joke. Jim would be insulted.
Did I make a gay joke. Pfft no, I has class ^^
NickThe Ninja
You just told us that you are fucking Jim Sterling.
The related videos make me feel sick.
The music is pretty catchy after all...
