These things are tanks. I once hauled 5500 lbs of Nautilus machines from Florida to NY in one. The only problem I had was when I arrived at my destination I couldn't back up my driveway because of the surge brakes.
How many small and medium cardboard boxes do you think can fit in this trailer with 3 queen mattresses, 2 chest of drawers and some disasambled compact exercise machine?
I am concered about the security of the trailer. Do people disconnect the trailer and steal it when you are sleeping at a hotel? What to do to prevent? I will be going coast to coast and dont want to get my stuff stolen. Also, what if they break the lock in the back?

Built to last a lifetime. At the end of their useful life they are destroyed. I wish they would sale them also. They know how to make quality trailers. Don’t buy a used one - sure sign of a stolen uhaul trailer.
They don’t sell them. However they sell the car trailers and the car dollys. I recommend you get the car trailer they sell and turn it into a flatbed. They are really heavy duty.

You could ensure that this trailer would be at my pick up location tomorrow to honour my reservation but we both know that not going to happen. I contacted uhual about not honouring the reservation and all I got was a good ol' "Go fuck yourself" from uhual. All that they could do is notify me one business day before my move that uhaul would not honour the reservation but that it would take 3 business day for uhaul to investigate and discuss my concern. That is to late to address my concern! This is the most sleazy dishonest company I have dealt with. For anyone thinking about renting this trailer DON'T uhaul WILL SCREW YOU OVER! Now I will have to spend an extra $70 and travel an extra 400 km because of uhaul dropping the ball and uhaul does not want to do anything to try and make up for it other then renting me a trailer half the size but still at full price. Once again SKIP uhaul unless you want to make your moving experience worse.

"Jeff Jenkins, U-Haul’s towing expert, suggests using 18 inches as the trailer height...if you plan to tow a U-Haul trailer, as this is the standard coupler height for U-Haul trailers." +jfsa380 I think uhaul is just covering their behind. There's some people who never tower s trailer before let alone driven a truck. I've seen people load a jeep in these things and go 70 mph no problem. Just check the tires out

I'm hoping to move from Boston Massachusetts to Orlando Florida real soon. 22, finishing college, finally moving out of my parent's place. I don't have too many things, Bed, desk, briro, 30'' flat screen TV, Tons of closes, and an electric keyboard, rest is just a few minor accessories, and I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ with a trailer hitch. I'm sure this will do just fine right?
Well I've got a motorcycle too so I was kinda thinking I'd probably mount the motorcycle to a hitch mounted carrier, rent a truck and a trailer, and tow the motorcycle/Jeep combination on another U Haul trailer behind the truck. So that's a Uhaul Truck and a Trailer it comes out to like $1,500 but that's not including fuel and I don't expect the MPG to be all that good either with that sort of load.

Get a heavy duty lock for the back, also another lock and chain to keep it secured to your car

Place a big clamp on the coupler where it slides up in the tongue. Or get a bigger truck :)
