Awesome video! I had an amazing time driving with you guys and the rain session was the most fun part of the weekend! The next day I set a 49.5sec so you both beat me. IMO we all have 48s in us (next year?). Great driving out there to both of you! 19:00 caught me making excuses for my bad driving lol. It's more like I got phased XD. Cheers!
I miss my 2ZZ XRS. It was a 2003 so it had the 8200rpm and all 😮. One thing I can say is the ZERO torque makes you have to push the car over 8/10ths to stay anywhere close to the 6200rpm lift. I could see a turbo 1zz with a powerband of 4000-7000rpm being faster especially anywhere you are under full throttle. Now I have a 270hp 2GR Camry and the torque makes it a super nice sporty cruiser. 2zz is 🔥 but you better be in the right gear they make like 100 ft/lb of torque when out of lift and like 130 ft/lb in lift. Fun car but I like my 7000rpm V6.
@@cxbra I had a 2003 for a week before it got totaled by a dump truck, it was rust free only 150k km. Once it got wrecked I swapped the drivetrain plus lsd into my mr2...
Smaller wheels, smaller tire diameter to improve effective final drive gear ratio to wheels for shorter gearing, and or change gearbox for higher final drive. 2zz can also be tuned to 8600rpm safely which helps too, as well as r9k PPE 4-2-1 header improving mid range torque significantly. All these improvements add up to solving the short track issue.
@@drift400 most people run the 4-1 header. I’m running cammed 1zz. With zero 4-2-1 manifold. Has good midrange torque, currently on stock ECU but it climbs to redline quick and I can tell there’s plenty of HP to made beyond the stock rev limit.
@@lmenzolin this setup I guess is the only one I've seen lift engaging that high with standalone ecu, on fwd cars with long runner header and other supporting mods without opening the engine itself, I've seen lift crossover point to as low as 5k Rpm and a 8.7k Rev limiter
you should try drifting your mr2! my friends always drift this track. Ive been drifting my 2zz mr-s for the past year and its a load of fun after you commit to hucking it and get over the understeer
Awesome video! One thing I noticed is you seem to not trust the diff to help rotate/power out of corners and are a bit late to throttle. from the looks, the diff is working really well, gotta trust it and the weight transfer!
Such a great event. Final standing between us was Emilio (@tougetime) at 49.1, Josh (@medium_josh) 49.3 and Mark (@markpanic) at 49.5. All so close, and Mark had the least amount of drive time dealing with the event, otherwise likely would have come out on top. I think next year I’ll have to join the club and make it a 3 way frog battle.
Comparing your ride to that 86 is like comparing a Gr Yaris with your mrs.. even having 25whp more. It’s noticeable that 86 was struggling with such a hard suspension.
Your lift point is way too high. Bring it down to 4500 to 5000 rpm and I'm sure you'll go faster on this track. Nice driving though. Bro got skills in that 3SG Hachi Roku
@@feral4mr2 Yeah but mine is not out of the box and I'm working on something special for aw11 suspensions that will help fix it's biggest geometry issue.

This is the best video you've made in a long time. Keep doing more stuff like this if you can.

Def think 48s next year
I am rooting for the 1zz turbo, lets go.
Yes, I liked the 1zz in my spyder, turboing it was the next option if I didn't have to sell it.
I also load my Spyder forward as well. Tows just fine. I think the Spyder is such a light and short car that it doesn't matter.
+1 same here, just load it more forward than my other cars.
That music and those spec shots were 🔥... total gran turismo vibes
Duuuude 16 min mark the chasing and initial d track! Chefs kiss!
I miss doing this currently waiting to save enough coin for 2GR swapping the sw20.
Ahhh! So awesome, great to see you driving as always, man! Also, that track definitely has that Japanese 'mini/local circuit' feel to it!
It definitely had that vibe and layout! Looks nice to drift
Team 2ZZ here!!

Yessir!
3zz here
I can’t wait to finish my spyder
Track looks super fun. Reminds me of the small track at lime rock
Prime example of why I don’t like 2zz. When the engine finally hits lift, you are already coming into a turn and braking. Great video 🤙
Ya. It's not bad on a full size track.

At this speed it was just pushing. It used to be easier when setup for autox.
@@TougeTime makes sense! Awesome vid, thanks for sharing all the good intake noises and perfect audio track pairings

This event and also the circuit looks fun☺️
What are your gopro settings? In car footage looks great!
I forgot what it's called? EV? It's set to -2 or something. Othsrwise, u can't see out the windshield
Cool video! Its running nice and good driving!
Looked really fun!
I'm curious what your tongue weight is. It does look like the car might be a bit far forward, even considering the mid engine.
19:49 that lift

solid rear axle
Ik the 86 is gonna prolly be the slowest, but 20v go brrrRRRRR!

I guarantee my AW11 7age beats all 3. One of these days you need to come out to the EC and drive it.
