If you’ve never heard their song, “Suite Madam Blue”, it’s EPIC! It was written for the United States Bicentennial in 1976, and was on their album Equinox. 2026 will be the 250th Birthday of the United States, and it is even more relevant today. A masterpiece! Link below.

Great rock band from the 70's-80's. They had so many great songs such as "Sail Away", "Lorelei", "Suite Madame Blue", "Renegade", "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)", "Babe", "The Best Of Times", "Mr. Roboto", "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Show Me The Way", "Don't Let It End", "Why Me", "Borrowed Time", "Rockin' The Paradise" etc.

Good morning, lovely Aussie lady. I would love to see you react to my two favorite Styx songs, both of which you've probably never heard. They are both off the second side of the album, The Grand Illusion. The first song is a James Young rocker called Miss America. The second is the Tommy Shaw song, Man In The Wilderness. I predict you'll love them both! I visited your country many years ago and fell in love with a wonderful beer called Swan Lager. I'm still waiting all these years later to see it come to America as an import. I love your reactions. Your face can not hide the emotion you feel from the sonic pleasures you hear. It's a beautiful thing to watch, and it warms my heart.

Thanks for your comment - and the influence it had on my first reply (I guessed the still unknown track from yours).
If I had to choose 2 that are not their mainline hits (I think I have 4 albums), I'd go for Blue Collar Man, and I'm OK.

@Nick_Sandman I love I'm OK. Blue Collar Man got beat to death on American radio but is still pretty cool too.

@@chazblitz Sorry when great bands are overplayed - our national radio stations overplay local hits - I don't mind feeling jaded about them! Keep the great hits a special play.

Thank you very much - when I get time to listen to this unbroken, I am sure that I will be suitably impressed.
Nice cliff-hanger, not to state what track you chose in the title 😊
(( I think from chazblitz's comment I know which track it is though 💃 ))
[[ little back story - I have a _SUBSCRIBED playlist here on youtube, where I can keep a shorter list of subscription channels, to find the important ones faster. So I have used this review as my entry point to SWIFT REACTIONS to lift it out of the list of nearly 72 subscriptions I now have 🤩 ]]

For older bands, try Chicago, especially their "25 or 6 to 4", both the studio version and the live Tangerwood version.

Try some 70's classic/rock bands such as Renaissance and Curved Air. 😮😮👍👍👏👏

This recording wasn't initially done very well at a live festival, and was vastly cleaned-up; so the quality isn't that good. Listen to later live recording where there was an effort to record the concert(1983, 1996).
You'd probably recognize a few Styx songs such as "Come Sail Away" and "Renegade". If you do "Come Sail Away" don't do the Official Video which is a cut-down version for MTV, but do either the studio audio or live from 1996's "Return To Paradise" tour.
Styx has a large catalog of great songs with a lot of variety of styles due to the songwriters and that there are 3 lead singers/songwriters.
    A few suggestions:
Dennis DeYoung: "Prelude 12/Suite: Madame Blue", "Come Sail Away", "Castle Walls", "The Grand Illusion".
Tommy Shaw: "Fooling Yourself", "Blue Collar Man", "Man In The WIlderness", "Crystal Ball", "Renegade".
James "JY" Young: "Young Man", "Miss America", "Snowblind"(with Tommy).

"Come Sail Away" is one of their greatest hits, but I ask that if you do that one, please, please do NOT do the live "Official" video, which is an edited down version of the song. When the song was released, there was the full length album version, then the record label decided that they had to cut it down, not once, but twice. Once for a radio version and another time for a single (45 rpm) version. Radio back in the 1970's and early 80's generally did not like to play songs that were longer than 5-6 minutes in length. That way they could squeeze in more songs and more importantly, more money generating commercials into the same hour. So, the radio version was an edited version of the full length version, eliminating the instrumental part in the middle of the song. The single version was to accommodate the 5 minute limit of a 7 inch 45 rpm single. Generally, record companies tried to be under that limit. So, for this version of the song, they not only cut out the instrumental passage, but also the second half of the first verse. So, please, listen to the full album version of the song which runs 6 minutes and 10 seconds. That one also has Dennis DeYoung as the lead singer.
Styx had 3 lead singers, Dennis, Tommy Shaw, and James (JY) Young. Other great songs by them are "Crystal Ball" (Tommy sings lead), "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)" (Tommy), "Miss America" (JY), "Blue Collar Man" (Tommy), "Renegade" (Tommy), "Babe" (Dennis), "Too Much TIme On My Hands" (Tommy), "The Best of Times" (Dennis), "Snowblind" (Tommy), "Don't Let It End" (Dennis). And of their solo work, Dennis' "Desert Moon" is excellent.
Dennis wanted to take the group in a more theatrical direction and the other members rebelled against that. They kicked him out of the band. I have seen Styx with Dennis and without, and to me, they are worse for their decision to kick Dennis out of the band. I may not have necessarily liked the theatrical direction, but Dennis' voice was stellar (as you saw with his lead vocal on "Lady").
