What I find the most amazing is the fact that no one has down voted your video. Laughing babies, and cute little kittens get down voted on UA-cam. I'm impressed.
During my school days this film was released, once my friend brought taperecorder to school for dance , the song was,,,the man with the golden gun, I still remember the old days, thanks
Just stumbled on your post, I was there in 1999 and it has changed quite a bit since then, far more commercial. We were taken there on Thai long tail boat. A nice place for a short visit but there are better places for longer stays.
The production crew put up fake window, door, and wall panels in the hollow areas of the rocks to simulate a real evil lair built into the island. The actual working exterior doors and windows were from the real lair set at the Pinewood Studios indoor sound stage. When they were eating lunch at the dining room table the view outside was simulated water surrounded by giant photographs of the local islands and sky. It was very well done and the lighting looked like real daylight. They even simulated a breeze with the plant leaves blowing outside. Coordinating the filming at the two locations thousands of miles apart probably required many weeks of planning and careful adherence to the script.
GREAT JOB pal. I was just there myself months ago. The original music you added was great. Send me a message and I can compare notes of what was where on the island as to the layout of the movie. The Movie is such a classic and you can never know what took place where UNTIL you go to that island yourself as we have. I took photos and I even brought my own superb handmade replica of the Golden Gun which took 2 weeks to make as I had time. People were shocked as I walked around the island with it and made little movies and several photos.
Yes I was there 10years ago. Better then not so many tourists as in your video. James Bond Island didn't disappoint really glad I went. Though I think Scalarmega's hide da way was shot in a studio. Very relaxing there when I went. I wish Roger was there. Thanks for the video.
Yes, his evil lair was built inside the giant sound stage at Pinewood Studios in England. The scene where they were eating lunch at the dining room table was an example of what was filmed in the Pinewood Studio. They had simulated water, sky, islands, and fake daylight outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. They even had a breeze blowing the plant leaves around. They put up fake window, door, and wall panels in the hollow areas of the real island to make it look like the house was built inside the bottom of the island. It was very well done and coordinating the filming at the two locations thousands of miles apart was an impressive feat.
I would have an uncontrollable urge to yell at Knick Knack for some Tabasco -- which it seemed you were about to do for a second there...did you have that urge?
Awesome man, looks like a good trip!! I have always wanted to go and check this out. Did you see any other filming locations? A mini podcast talking about your experiences in Thailand with tips and stuff would be really cool actually!
Very cool and thanks for sharing! Parts of the island don't look like they've changed a bit. Nice audio mixing here too, I was hoping you would end with the slowed down version of the theme song :)
Thanks for making this video, really nice to see how the Island was now. (with all those shops and stuff). Kinda weird that Island is so popular though? As The man with the golden gun isn't exactly the most popular bond movie... Anyways, keep the good work up and the videos coming =) Cheers
MrThegreatgamer1 Bond is eternal! There really isn't a great deal to do there, so if you weren't a Bond fan I don't really see why you'd go. I think most of the boat trips just call in for half an hour on their way to other islands.
Hi there did you book the trip to James bond Island from your hotel lobby or an outside tour guide. If I win some money on the lottery I will go there. I've only ever been to 1 james bond location and that was the circus circus hotel in Las Vegas
So sad and regrettable that the beautiful island Khow-Ping-Kan off the Malay Peninsula where the duel between Roger Moore's James Bond and Christopher Lee's Scaramanga was filmed in "The Man With The Golden Gun"(1974) has been turned into a typical, overpopulated tourist attraction! Human greed/desire for tourism always succeeds in ruining any place of natural beauty!
That was great! It's amazing how much larger more epic it looks on film. Makes you wanna watch the movie again.
Inflightfight We only had 40 minutes to look around before the boat left!

Awesome sound track to go with the tour mate!
Recently I visited this island, it's amazing. Thanks for video, for memorizing this.

So many people and so crowded not like when Roger Moore was here 47 years ago.It was so nice that time. The music was so wonderful and nice.
Great stuff! Man must be great to be there! I would really love to visit it one day myself!
***** Definitely worth a visit!
Greetings friend. I also appreciate your great channel very much! God bless you both.

Awesome. Thank you very much.
Just watched the film so came to this 😁
Awesome! Wasn't this location used for The Quest, as well?
Lookin' healthy and refreshed, tom!
***** Amazing what a few weeks at Shrublands will do for you ;-)

like the video tom, the filming was good brings back memories of the movie
by the looks of things, nothing much has changed on the island

Andrew Lloyd Nope, just this one. I'm sure we'll talk about it in our next episode :-)
It's a good video but it would have been nice to see parts of the film to match with with what you are looking at
Play the film bits in your head like the rest of us then you'll see.

MooseWithFleas The only real difference is the shacks selling souvenirs, other than that it's pretty identical.
Mr Nick Nack, Tabascoooo!
I was there on the island with out the store's. Bloody Tourists .Film atmospherics where still there in 2009 now they have spoilt it.

Loved it. what gear are you using...was it a go pro? also great use of the music, what did you use to edit it altogether?
Brian Maxim Just my iPhone 5, edited together with Final Cut Pro.

Gee, too many people.
Did mr bond pay the boy 20000 baht?
rotcataergeht No, he threw him off the boat, and no one cried abuse back then 😂
Mont saint Michel !!!!!!!!
